They have cleaned our dogs teeth and did a great job. They are so sweet to our doggies and my dogs haven't felt very nervous because they are so kind and loving to them. We had to put our Maltese/Papillon mix down at 17 years old in 2024. The experience was tough to do but because Dr Mac was so fatherly to my doggie Skipper and us, this experience was easier to go through because of his kindness and his love for animals. All the helpers that have helped our dogs have been great as well. We boarded Skipper 4-5 time and he looked good and could tell the workers gave him attention. He kissed the helper goodbye each time (would much rather be with his parents though) we picked him up. We now have Toto, our Havanese to keep getting great health care until he goes to doggy heaven many years from now we hope. Within a minute of being taken back to a room Dr Stout was in there taking a look at my dog. My dog, a 10 year old lab had a big ol lump that Dr Stout aspirated and tested immediately. The lump was cancerous, and so we got sent home with steroids and an appointment to have it removed. That cost $150 (including the pathology for the aspiration). The surgery, which happened two days ago, included removing two additional lumps and getting them sent off for testing. That was less than $600! Every time I've paid for something here, I've been surprised at how little they charged compared to other clinics. It's genuinely a life saver in these times. You can tell these folks just care about the wellbeing of the animals they serve. I can't say enough good stuff about this clinic, seriously.

A few months ago i took my dog there with an ear infection. When i tried to make an appointment the woman on the phone was extremely rude. She blew me off and told me she would call back later, but never did. when i called back, she full-on screamed "BECAUSE WE'RE BUSY" at me. I'm worried about my dog who is clearly suffering; i don't deserve to be screamed at because I called an entire *two times* trying to make an appointment . Because i am an idiot, i continued with the call and made the appointment. Despite me straight-up telling the very bad incompetent doctor that my dog had an ear infection, he swore that I was wrong and he did not have an ear infection, but rather, a pulled muscle. i believed him and started giving him painkillers for that. When the painkillers ran out and my dog was still miserable, i took him to a different vet. Guess what the problem was?? an ear infection!! and i didn't even have to get screamed at to find that out. Still, everyone has bad days. Whatever. But today i saw someone wearing a "Carbondale Vet Hospital" T-shirt. Thats right, they cant manage to take care of animals or be a good vet, but they can sure screen print some merch!!! Opportunistic and disgusting. NEVER go to these scammers.

The kindness they showed to me personally, allowing me to come see him whenever I wanted, calling to let me know he was okay, is something I cannot repay. I went from heartbroken to elated; from devastated, thinking I would have to put him down, to elated in finding out that I get to spend more time with an animal I love. Even when he finally got to come home, she called and made sure he was still doing well. Not bringing your animal here is a mistake.

Not only did they take care of his teeth but he had hip surgery. The vet came and spoke to me one on one about the findings during his hip surgery that his other hip was beginning to do the same thing. We took our puppy in for the mandatory round of shots and Dr. Joe talked to us while the shots kicked in so he could evaluate to see how well our dog would handle the shots.
