Dr. Aubrey Hess is absolutely amazing. She listens and truly cares for my wellbeing. Additionally, she remembers my previous visits and pays attention. Dr. Lacy has done MOHS surgery for me a couple of times and every time was amazing, professional, compassionate and above all, competent. He has coordinated care with Dr. Waters who did the facial reconstruction to perfection. I could ask for anything any better than this team. Davie Dermatology owes me an apology. I was referred last July. After the PA said we want to see you in a year. In March I started getting, "time to make an appointment". So, I made an appointment for July. Couple weeks ago, I got "Time to Check IN" Checked in online a week before. NO ISSUES They wanted deductible but I decided to pay the day of the appoint. I drive 15 miles. Walk up to the window to check in and the woman says, "still with United?" When I said yes, she said let me check. She then said, we're going to have to reschedule. WHAT? You don't have a referral. I said I had a referral last year. She said, you need another one. We discussed and the conversation ended when she said, "It's the patience responsibility" This is outrageous, as they asked for the follow up and reminded me to make an appointment. Then when I checked in (and they asked if my insurance was United) there was NEVER anything about needing another referral. It was the way the woman said, IT'S YOUR FAULT. That really got me. They owe me an apology but I don't expect I'll ever get one. read more

That was my FIRST visit to her practice, following the retirement of my Dermatologist, after my #20 years of office visits. Dr. Hess facilitated my referral to Wake Forest Oncology, where Dr. Votanapoulus performed successful surgery. With my Irish & German lineage, fair skin, and youthful outdoor living in Palo Alto, California, she has continued to perform very detailed examinations multiple times each year. I've been going to Davie Dermatology for several years. Everyone is great except for the PA Stephanie Alvis. She has always been a little condescending but this time went over the line. She was still condescending but also tried to be DELIBERATELY hurtful and hateful. I don't want to ever see her again. read more

Everything went well from the courteous people at the check-in the nurse the doctor super super wonderful and when I left the person was very friendly on my way out. The doctor is Young very courteous and very thoughtful. I'm 76 years old and it's hard to find doctors like that today, the kind I was used to when I was young. read more

From the time you walk in and greeted by awesome front office staff through evaluation with Dr etc it is all a very positive experience.

I went to this facility to have a facial and sad to say I was a tad disappointed. The price was quite high and I really expected something special. On my previous facials in other locations I received a neck massage and a hand treatment included in the facial. The receptionist was quite rude and arrogant, and her demeanor turned me right off. Pleasantry was not her way, and I find it strange that such an unpleasant person would be your first experience with this facility. I am sad to have to say this but I may not return for a follow up procedure. The people on the first floor were great however. read more

I've been a patient of Dr Barham's for many years now. She is thorough, professional and most of all, kind. I'll continue to visit her for my skin concerns as long as possible. I've also recently called with a concern over a spot and they got me in same day, which is wonderful when you're worried about something. They definitely cater to a high income bracket, being outside Bermuda Run, which I am not, but I never feel like my treatment is lacking. dr. jaclyn hess is the most through, detailed physician for whom i have been a patient in my #74 years. she diagnosed a melanoma on my head after it was missed by my prior dermatologist. she rapidly then set up a plan of action with wake forest baptist oncology surgeon, dr. votanopoulos. that was #4 years ago. i do see dr. hess routinely. with my fair irish complexion & california outdoor youth, sr. hess has diagnosed multiple early skin tissue melanomas, basal cells, etc.. always an excellent communicator, she is very measured in her explanations of my tissue samples cut off & sent to the lab, or frozen off. read more

So after my visit yesterday I have determined this place has gone down a little. First the super PA they had left. Not sure why. Next the lady at the front desk is as arrogant as ever. It is normal sometimes when very competent people have to deal with the public to become somewhat jaded. This is not the case with this receptionist. I'm leaving this review even though I haven't been to this practice. I called to get a appointment and was told I had to have a referral from a physician. I contacted my insurance company and verified that I did not need a referral to be seen by a specialist. I then called DAVIE DERMATOLOGY back and asked to make a appointment and again was told that I had to have referral. I asked if this was a practice policy and was told that it was. So I have made an appointment at another practice that doesn't require me to get "permission" to be seen by them. Also, Im a DAVIE county resident that believes in supporting local business, However I'm driving to Winston-Salem to be seen by a practice that appreciates my BUSINESS and TWO insurance coverages. read more
