But while all the work and performance centric rooms are first class, the real jewel in the complex is the Cain Center theater itself. This truely multi functional space offers "Broadway compatible" lighting, sound, print, and visual media support that runs the gamet of use from current kindergarters in a "summer camp" like setting to newly retired professional performers. For many years to come, this facility will help deliver to the greater LKN population the artistic focused support it has badly needed for so many years. Birdsnest is actually located right upstairs from the Needlecraft Center on Main Street in Davidson. It seems weird, but you walk into the house and head upstairs to the second floor. The Birdsnest consists of a retail shop and a place to get some music lessons. There is a little room that is cluttered with tons of vinyl records, which is what drew us here in the first place. The prices were pretty good and the quality of the records was great. They also have a small selection of CDs and other music formats, but it's mainly about the records. There are other rooms upstairs that are dedicated to music lessons, both instrumental and vocal. Birdsnest is a pretty cool addition to downtown Davidson and worth checking out if you want some vinyl or want some professional assistance in becoming a rock god.

The quaint theatre boasts beautiful stained glass windows and comfy seats and the cozy community theatre vibe where no seat in the house is a bad one. We were on the front row center this time and loved it! The actors in this production were spot on and I loved the OCT adaption of the book/movie. The comedic moments had us laughing, but the serious moments were quite powerful in this intimate setting, and even though I knew the story, found myself leaning towards the stage waiting to see what was next! Visit the website for upcoming plays and patronize this precious hometown gem, you won't be disappointed! There is local artwork for sale in the lobby and light refreshments offered as well for reasonable prices. For every play I've attended at least part of the cast is mingling with the patrons following the play and I just adore that! Each show is pretty affordable, everything we've seen thus far has been amazing! I love having this little gem in Concord. After only a few e-mails asking for a full or part refund (or to work with us) for the class and or the recital, she accused us of harassing her. She said that the dress was started to be made so she could not cancel it however she WOULD NOT provide the cost of the dress or the cost of the tickets in an itemized receipt. As I was going to offer to pay for the dress and I was hoping she would reimburse me for the rest (tickets to the show etc..) since we are not attending however she would NOT provide the cost of the dress or the cost of the tickets in an itemized receipt. She would not give us a penny back. In my opinion, that means she is hiding the amounts she is charging for the recital. Very suspicious! On her website, she lists that she offers part reimbursement for class tuition however she CHOSE to give us credit for classes. Basically, in my opinion, she is teaching us a lesson for canceling and she knows we will never go back to her Dance company again, which means she can keep all the money. She also had the nerve to charge my card again for the next month's tuition AFTER we canceled the class, which she said would be reversed, however, this shows her bad business practices. We are very sad and absolutely astonished at this owner's lack of care for her customers and bad business practices. I have lost over $150 with this company, I have never seen such horrible customer service In my life.
