I could not be happier with David's Pet Services. I have been using them since 2020 and although the pets have changed, the service has not. We had to conduct our initial meet-and-greet virtually due to the pandemic, however the entire process went seamlessly. I was able to have a video conference with David while walking around the house to show him where all the supplies were located. He asked me to point the camera in various directions so he could take screen shots of what he needed. And when Grace came to get the keys we did a "contact-less" exchange. Initially, we hired DPS to look after some small animals (fish and caged animals) while we were away. Every day Grace sent me beautiful photos of my happy fish so I could tell they were clean and eating right. She also sent pictures of our hamster, who surprised us all by waking up in the middle of the day to have his picture taken. But Grace and DPS really did a fantastic job with our rabbit. We asked her to let him hop around for a few minutes each day, but she took him on adventures throughout the house and even had a 30-minute Taylor Swift jam session with him. (Truthfully, he may have had more fun with her than with us...) We have continued to use them for dog walking, overnight pet-sitting, and longer (7-10 days) vacations. I have never encountered a problem since we began using them and have always felt incredible peace-of-mind... and that's what I really want. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend DPS. read more

DPS is the ABSOLUTE best dog walking service in the West Hartford area. Their app tells you when they came to your house, it gives you GPS map of where they went for a walk, and they send you pictures along the way. This is a well run and very organised service.. But even more important than the app is the people. They are so caring. They know their stuff (they have given me tons of advice over the years). David and his staff are the best. David is always available to answer any questions you may have or any changes of schedule you may need. When I called him to tell him the elevators in the building were out and that someone may have to walk up and down 14 flights to walk the dog, he said no problem. We'll make it work. Thankfully, the elevators came back online before the scheduled walk. The dog walkers love love love Chloe even though she's the laziest thing around. You get very detailed reports and fun pictures of the pooch after the walk. Some of my friends with kids have even mentioned these reports are more thorough than what they get for their kids at day care. DPS is thee BEST! We've been with Dave and his team for almost 2 years and we couldn't have picked a better dog walking service. Dave and everyone he hires is trustworthy, loves animals and is dependable... better yet, our puppy Reuben is SO happy when they come. They helped train our puppy since day 1 and have the easiest scheduling/cancellation app and are incredibly flexible/reachable (2 doctors with an "easy" schedule? Doesn't exist). Rain, shine, falling trees, snowpocalypse they're there. This past summer Reuben needed a joint fusion on one of his hind legs - basically it means he needed to keep his leg in a cast for 8 + weeks and no jumping/running/playful activities. You can imagine how heartbreaking it was to leave him at home - but DPS came twice a day, and each time made sure Reuben received his medications had light walks/enjoyed fresh air in the front yard. We couldn't have made it through those weeks without them! read more

The service itself has always been wonderful. I really like the application features and how easy it is to communicate while I'm away. Most of the staff are also very reliable and wonderful. It can be tough to let strangers into your home with your pets but I've never worried about them. I gave them 3 stars because I'm super shocked at how much the prices have changed since I started using them only a year ago. I don't think dog and cat visits should be treated the same price wise. Not to mention all the language in the app is dog oriented so it's confusing when reading about prices for cat visits. Right now it's $27 for someone to come in, feed my cat, pet them, and leave for only 20 minutes. I know they do other chores but if you have them come twice a day, they aren't really doing too much between both visits. Why is a 20 min dog walk cheaper than a 20 min pet visit to a cat right now? Then, it's +$10 to this visit during holidays. Totally get the holiday pay incentive for employees, but a cat visit and a dog visit is very different. $5 extra for a cat visit seems more reasonable. $37 is wild. I know tipping isn't mandatory but of course it's expected and I understand that. But I can't tip on top of these fees. I have to switch to another service who caters service prices to the specific animal for the meantime. I'm sad to do it because again, DPS is wonderful but I can't get past the increase in fees. I hope the company reconsiders pricing to make it more accessible to long time customers and to make it make better sense with different animals. read more

The team at David's Pet Services did an absolutely awesome job taking care of my cat while I was on vacation. Each day I received pictures and thoughtful messages about their daily visit to see my cat, and I could tell it wasn't just a generic message because they were commenting on specific quirky things that my cat does (which made me laugh). I was expecting my cat to hide from them, but they made fast friends with her and gave her lots of attentioIt definitely made me feel less worried about her while I was on my trip. They also did helpful things like bringing in the mail and changing up some of the lights in the house, and even vacuumed up some of the cat hair before I got home! I am so glad I found DPS and highly recommend them! Update: I've continued using this team's services an additional four or five times over the last year, and can't sing their praises highly enough.
