I'll start by giving a shout out to a Staff member named Karen who was super helpful. The food here is mostly Japanese and Korean. There is a Kimchi section in the far left side from the entrance. They also have a great variety of sake and noodles, and fantastic section of mushrooms and bean sprouts - very well priced. They also have the Konjac noodles and the octopus balls - Takoyoki packs and an in-house small snack bar. Overall very stoked at all the Asian goodies found here, but did think it was a bit expensive. Be aware that discount seals are only for those food items that are coming close to their expiry date. I purchased a delicious seaweed snack that was discounted, only to discover when I got home that it's expired in two weeks from date of purchase (I had a lot of sushi rice for dinner during those two weeks!). Khera's is a homely little place in the center of the city. I am always greeted by the same friendly Indian lady every time I visit. It is always a good time catching up with her about various events and discussing days long passed. The clientele seems to be mostly loyal customers who keep coming back for their fix of ethnic food, fresh produce, and often just friendly conversation with the owner. Khera's is also probably the only place in Amsterdam to find fresh Indian cottage cheese. Prices are average, selection is vast, and the taste of home, priceless.

Some of their Indian chai blend tea would be nice though.... Sweet, Gavottes Crepe Dantelle...."No, don't go there!" Walkers short bread cookies??...."You know what will happen, you're gonna eat them all in 1 go till you're nauseous" Kings' crown jewel # 109 Grisbi Lemon cream cookies then?? I headed here with some specific stuff in my and even though I did not find it I left this place with lots of goodies and if I had followed my stomach's advise, and not my wallet's, I would have left with much more. If you live in Amsterdam you probably would not go to this place all the time, so it is handy to come with money and maybe a car because you will probably buy lot's of stuff here. It is nearly impossible to walk through this store without spending to much money on delicious stuff (also because stuff here is pretty expensive). Laromme is a Jewish bakery shop located in A'dam's Jewish epicentre Buitenveldert. Several…read moresupermarkets in that area sell a small selection of the bakery, but sadly not the croissant-like puff pastry which just so happens to be what I'm most interested in. Luckily, today I discovered where the mothership is located. Well, actually misfortune brought me there. After first being denied service at another Jewish shop (they much rather threw the pastry in the bin then serve it to this shiksa, seriously), I was "kindly" directed towards this bakery. Since they didn't seem to happy with my presence at Laromme either, I thought it was most advisable not to whip out my camera, so no pics. Anyways, Laromme has a wide variety of croissant-like filled puff pastries (both savory and sweet). The sweet are more croissant-like, the savory more puff pastry-like. Some of my favorite burekas: chocolate, cinnamon, poppy seed paste, potato, cheese & mushrooms. Didn't see any bagels, though I wasn't paying attention. My stomach doesn't discriminate, just wish they would do the same.
