I am a soon to be bride and I came to his store a week before my wedding (crazy I know) but I was greeted my Sydney B she was so helpful and she help me in my tight budget, she took take of getting me the right sizes and helped me match a veil to each dress I choose beautifully. I was super Indecisive but she let me know what she thought of the dress which is always super helpful to me But she also gave me and my family a lot of time to discuss and give our opinions without shutting down our concerns like most people do I felt very unpressured to make a decision while still being supported and understood! The amount of work her and AJ (I think she was a manager or another consultant) put into making my experience smooth and easy was beyond my expectations as a young bride having them there to help was so calming to my stress and anxiety. I used to really like this location. We have been to this location to purchase 4 bridesmaid dresses for two weddings and 4 dresses for various high school dances. Our earliest experiences at David's were wonderful, but they have not been favorable during our last few visits. This time we walked out empty handed and no one even noticed. We make appointments every time. Yesterday we were there for a 10:30am appointment and were waved off to search for dresses and come find them when ready to try on. Couldn't find anyone to help us with a dressing room and finally saw a woman who shouted for us to go to room 10. We had an associate walk over one time to ask how we are doing. We said were struggling with sizes, but she she said that she doesn't recommend ordering the right size because it may come damaged and that my daughter could go check out the jewelry and shoes to complete her look. She was so worried about upselling us that she didn't hear what our concerns were. She NEVER offered to help find the right size or find other options for us. It was a complete waste of time. The associates were busy with bridesmaids and other groups. I had been sitting in a chair and ran to go get another size myself. When I came back, the associate took my chair and gave it to another lady that was with a bridesmaid group. That's how invisible we were. It was infuriating. If I make an appointment, I would expect to have some assistance if needed. The area outside the dressing rooms were crowded so we had to constantly say excuse me to get space by a mirror. There are no mirrors in the dressing rooms which is really stupid. We walked out, sat in the car in the parking lot and did a search for bridal shops in the area with prom dresses. We found Lilla's just a few minutes away. We went there and found the perfect dress. The ladies were wonderful. I wish we had found Lilla's a few dances ago. Don't waste your time at David's. I feel really bad because there are a lot of negative reviews on here. I bought my dress and had it altered at this store and loved it so much! I wasn't actually expecting to buy a dress the day I went in.. I thought I'd just be learning what style id prefer. After only trying on 4 dresses, I found mine. The alterations department was very helpful. They completely customized the dress for me and made it fit like a glove. They worked with me after multiple fittings and add ons to the dress. The only downside was the bustle. It was pretty difficult to figure out the day of my wedding and wasn't perfect. Also, the alterations were very pricy but in my opinion, well worth it. It was in Elizabethtown called Bridal emporium. It was small, the sales lady did not work off commission. I was upset with what happened at Davids. I had my heart set on a ball gown. This was a disaster. I had an appointment to find my maid of honor her dress. Our helper, Natalie, seemed nice enough to start, but the situation quickly devolved as our time there went on. She barely talked to me about the style of the dress I had in mind, just parked me in front of a scant poster displaying the available styles they had (except that wasn't accurate, because they didn't carry everything on it). She didn't know what styles came in what colors and looked at me like I was an alien when I told her I didn't want glitz on the dress. She thought every dress looked amazing until I said I didn't like it. My mother came with my MOH and I to the appointment, and she was horrified by the lack of quality options. She pointed out the cheap dollar-store ribbon belts that were on most the dresses, and Natalie just stood there and said nothing. I bought my prom dress at a David's back in 2006, and it was a very nice dress. I don't know what happened to this company, but their dresses are awful anymore. Cheap fabrics, cheap seams, very limited color selection, etc. I didn't like anything my MOH tried on. That's not Natalie's fault, but she tried to push us into buying anyway. We said maybe we would order online or from a different store (since my MOH was from out of town), just to be polite and leave. Natalie then grabbed her manager, who tried to sell us a dress once again by offering free shipping to my house. This would have been nice if I had ever let on that I wanted to buy a dress from them, but I didn't. I was severely underwhelmed. The salespeople at this store are pushy and apathetic. Alright, we didn't have an appointment, but the dress was picked, and one bridesmaid just wanted to verify that she was ordering the right size since she wasn't at the appointment the day before. Since they had the sample in her size in stock and the dress was already PICKED OUT and my party set up with the store, and we had just had our appointment the day before, we thought it wouldn't be so hard for her to just pop in and try it on. After all, this isn't a "boutique". It's DB. Wrong, we had to wait an hour, because they insisted that someone wait on us. We kept saying we were JUST there the day before (the bridesmaid couldn't make it) and she just needed to make sure she was getting the right size. I mean, there were empty dressing rooms, and the dress was visibly on the rack. When we were finally waited on, the lady that waited on us was shocked that we had needed to wait, since we had the dress in hand, and she literally had to do nothing to help us. Also, they never ever called when anyone's dress came in. I had to keep calling and checking because all but one dress had come in, and it was the same size as 3 of the other ones, AND it was ordered the same weekend. So when I called to check and see if it came in, they asked me if I had received a phone call or email about it. I replied that I had not, but I also hadn't received it for anyone else's dress that was ordered at the same time and had come in a month earlier. They told me it wasn't there. Two days later I had to stop in for an alterations appointment (just a bustle which wasn't a problem) and my Maid of Honor mentioned the one dress we were waiting on. OH WHAT A SURPRISE, IT'S HERE! Well, even though all the girls tried the dresses in store, all but one needs alterations, either because they can't sit down in the dress, or because the "floor length" dress is too short and looks stupid. I would say "you get what you pay for" but in wedding world, even "discount" isn't cheap. read more

After reading all the negative reviews, I was surprised to have such a wonderful experience at the York David's Bridal! I went in to try on wedding dresses for the very first time, and my consultant was Melinda. I'd already made a list of dresses on the website, so I pulled most of those and a few that looked great on the rack, and picked a pair of shoes that were about the same height I was planning to wear at my wedding, and then Melinda helped me into some undergarments (which successfully hid the food baby I'd gotten from eating lunch right before my appointment!). I tried on all the dresses, pointed out what I liked (delicate details) and what I disliked (dresses that straightened out my hips). I was stuck between two dresses, so Melinda chose a few wild cards off of the clearance rack. I'd forgotten to give her the style number of one of the dresses I'd liked online beforehand, but she pulled that exact dress from the clearance rack without me asking for it! So she was definitely able to gauge my likes and dislikes, although I ended up not liking that dress on me. I hadn't planned on buying something that day, but I ended up purchasing one of the clearance dresses, a vintage looking A-line with gold appliqués, and it was well within my budget even after we purchased the undergarments as well. I actually ended up changing my mind about the dress when I studied the photos taken by my mother later that night (ALWAYS check the photos, ladies) and since I can't return the dress to David's, I'll probably sell it online, but my experience was so great that I wanted to share. read more

Overall, my experience at davids was very enjoyable. From thr original greeting to alterations, the staff was very nice and helpful. Kelsey helped my bridesmaids and me pick our dresses. She was very knowledgable and patient. Cici did my alterations and was extremely nice and did a great job helping me bring my visions to life. Any concerns I had were quickly taken care of by their hands on manager. On top of having a great team, the store itself carries every style of dress imaginable in just about every size. I visited this location for my very first dress fitting. (I'm the bride!) My MOH and I made an appointment and went to see what a few different style dresses looked like on me. The lady at the front desk helped me right away and asked us to look through the gallery while my consultant (Candace - she was wonderful!) finished up with a previous appointment. So my MOH and I browsed dresses for about 10 minutes and picked out three dresses we wanted to see on me. I already had a good idea of what I was looking for and we found a few similar to that style. I had looked online before visiting and wanted to see an a-line one shoulder dress but unfortunately they didn't have it in stock. The other few dresses looked good but didn't exactly "wow" me. Candace understood what I was looking for and picked out a few more similar to my style. While I didn't find "the dress", I got a few great ideas of what I want. I'm not getting married for almost 4 years and Candace knew and understood that I wasn't necessarily buying a dress right that moment. She made note of my two favorite dresses and kept my paperwork on file. She was so kind and sweet and great to work with! Now, my reason for four stars instead of five is because of the dress selection and the dressing room. The store didn't have the specific dress I was looking for. And the dressing room was rather crowded. Only room for one bride in front of the main mirror at a time. And there's nowhere to sit so family/friends were bumping into each other while I was trying to get a good look at my dresses. This isn't the end of the world, of course. Visited this Davids Bridal last week. The visit started off okay. However, I did notice at check in that there were not the friendliest people working there. Whatever. That's fine. We went on to pick out colors for our bridesmaids dresses and then started to find the dresses that we liked the most. I found the most beautiful dress and fell in love with it. I am an athlete so I have a very wide and defined back and shoulders and this dress was perfect for my body type. In fact, it was probably the only dress that was perfect for my body type. I and another bridesmaid picked out our dresses and went to the register only to find that they wouldn't be available for 17 weeks!!!! (After the wedding). The woman at the register said that the other woman who had been helping us was supposed to ask the date of the wedding before having us find our dream dresses, which she did not. We wasted probably 2 hours in this place only to be left with nothing. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. If you have to go to David's Bridal, don't go to this one! read more

We had a really great experience at David's after looking at 5+ other stores for a prom dress. Our salesperson was knowledgable and helpful without being at all pushy. I was actually getting worried that my daughter was going over her alloted one hour appointment time, but at no time did we feel at all rushed. Our consultant actually ended up suggesting a dress that was not similar to the other styles my daughter was trying on, but it ended up being "the dress." I made an appointment at David's Bridal York PA for my daughter the Bride on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 10:30 and was so impressed with our stylist Amber S! Our party was 3 Bridesmaids, Bride and myself. We got there 15 minutes early and was told we could start looking at dresses. It was packed with Brides and their guests. I was a little worried we would be lost in the shuffle or rushed through our appointment. Amber S approaches my daughter and introduced herself (exactly at 10:30! Right on time) and explained how our session would play out. We picked 4 dresses and off we went. She took right over asking questions and getting my girl dressed and out of the fitting room for us to look for ourselves. The Bride feel in love with the second dress she tried on! She rang the bell and everyone clapped and of course I cried! Amber S measured her and we went to pay. My other daughter bought her wedding dress at David's Bridal in Plymouth Meeting PA last year and we did not receive anything close to the service Amber S gave us! Thank you for a great experience! This place was a mess. The employees were rude, the store was unorganized, crowded, and dirty. The dresses were yellow and felt cheap. We had to wait for about 20 minutes before a consultant "helped" us. At first we were only allowed to try on 3 dresses. The most annoying thing was that there was nowhere for us to sit while waiting for the bride to try on dresses. We had to stand in the middle of the room and employees were constantly telling us to move. Also, there was no mirror in the dressing room and there were hardly any dresses to choose from. Megan is an amazing manager. I had ordered a dress for my friends wedding back in August. Since then, I have lost 25 pounds and plan to lose 25 more. I explained that I had already ordered a size up, and that the wedding is next June. The dress would have cost more to alter at that point. She got on the phone, and said even though I had passed the size change window, I could change my dress as long as it passed inspection. I had never opened the bag, so I knew it would. She called today, and said that they have ordered my new dress size and will have it mailed to me. She was extremely helpful, and really cared about her costumer. Honestly I was a bit skeptical of going to David's Bridal because it's where everyone goes and I didn't want to end up with a very popular dress. But I went anyway. My first visit I tried on probably 20 dresses. The girl I worked with was very helpful and totally knew what she was doing. She looked at my Pinterest board and picked out dresses that matched my taste and was very helpful. However it being my first time there, I didn't want to choose so fast. So we went back a few months later. This time I think my consultant was Amy or Amanda...I'm so bad with names, and she let us (my bridesmaids, mom and I) pick out the dresses to try on, which was kind of nice so i could get a feel of what I wanted. I ended up trying on a dress that my fiances cousin got married in, only because I liked the shape and color. She and another manager I believe pointed out that they had a dress similar to the shape and color that they could get me. I tried it on and fell in love. They even matched the accesories and whatnot and it was perfect. It's funny because this is the exact opposite of what I wanted in a wedding dress and it's what I ended up with and love it! My friends and I went in to find dresses for our friends wedding. The experience was great in the beginning. We all found beautiful dresses. Joy, our stylist, suggested that we all do the color "Marine" as we wanted a navy shade. 4 of us found the dresses that we were wanting but 3 of us had to order online because they did not have the one color. However, the one in store looked like the color we all wanted. She purchased the dress in store. It wasn't until we got home that we realized the dress she purchased was a completely different navy shade than the other 3 dresses being ordered. Joy declined to inform us that the dress purchased in store was completely the wrong color!!!!! Did she just want a sale??? I am not sure. But I am extremely disappointed with the lack of shared information, especially because she spent a pretty penny on the dress!! Happy with the dress selection, extremely upset with the situation that is now occurring due to not being told that the colors may be different. The girl who checked us in deserves 5 stars for putting up with the crap from all the other people who work there ordering her around like an animal. Everyone else was pretty terrible. When my friends and I arrived, for our scheduled appointment, a young girl took us in and was very nice. She told us while we waited we could pick gowns out from the gallery and someone would be up to help us. After a few minutes another associate came over and told us not to carry the dresses and just to turn them to the side. We were a little confused because of the conflicting instructions but we did that we went through and turned dresses out thinking someone would be by to gather the dresses I like so could try them. Instead we waited 10 minutes and in the meantime other customers who were looking at dresses shuffled the dresses we picked back into the mix. The counter girl finally told us that someone, Mindy I think, would be up to help us. We figured we could go back through and pull the dresses out and hang them together, which we did, I had about 10 dresses picked out. This was my first time trying on dresses, I was pretty excited, I wanted to try different styles to see what would look best on me. Yet another associate approached us and asked us if we were the walk ins. We told her no, that we had an appointment, and that suddenly changed her attitude towards us from slightly rude to upbeat. By this time it we'd arrived for a 4pm appointment and it was almost 4:30 before our "consultant" even met with us. At which time she asked what I'd chosen, and we showed her the dresses and said something to the effect of "oh we limit you to 4 or 5" so we narrowed it down and she told me only 1 of the dresses we picked was available in a sample that would fit me. Keep in mind we specifically asked where we should look for plus sized dresses for me to try on, and we were told to look in the gallery, a specific section that a girl pointed us to and we only chose dresses from there. Mindy, didn't seem interested in hearing about the vision I had for my dress or wedding and was more concerned about me finding shoes to try with the dresses. I told her I'd be wearing flats so I'd just keep on the shoes I had if that was ok. She seemed a little irritated by that but I just let it roll off my back. She made me pretty uncomfortable right off the bat to the point that when she told me I couldn't have someone I knew in the dressing area with me it nearly caused an anxiety attack. She finally allowed my friend in until I was comfortable. Everything was very rushed and she was helping multiple people but she kept saying things like "I guess that's what happens when you're the best" and "I am in the top 50 for sales in the whole company" which made me feel more like I was getting a sales pitch rather than actually having a consultant who was trying to help me find my perfect dress. I only tried on 4 dresses and even the last dress I told her it was only maybe and 8.5 out of 10 and she kept pushing and asking if this could be my dress. I said maybe it could be but I don't know, I was unsure. I told her we had just come from a bridal show and there was a dress on display that I thought was very pretty and I was going to show her a picture but she was disinterested. And asked where it was and threw in my face that they wouldn't have anything to fit me. I felt like this was a selling "scare tactic". I felt so uncomfortable at this point I actually lied to her, which I felt terrible about and said I wanted my mom to see the dress. She continued to push and I still said no. I was trying to be polite as possible. She was visibly angered by what seemed to be the fact that I wasn't buying a dress, she literally snatched the veil she put on me out of my hair, pulling some of my hair out. I was so upset when we left that we rushed out without me even putting my shoes back on. I could not believe the experience I had, I was incredibly disappointed. If this is how you train you employees it's a disgrace. You're not selling a used car it's a wedding dress, for most a once in a lifetime purchase. I don't know why I bothered, you made buying a dress which I thought would be a magical experience into something that was horrifying. I can say without doubt that I will not buy my wedding gown nor the blesses for my bridal party from any of your locations. read more

This was the worst wedding dress experience! As soon as I came in for my appointment the sales person I was paired with, Amber, was completely rude and did not listen to a thing I asked for. I was not pleased at all with the dresses she picked and as my family and I tried to look for other dresses she rushed us back to the changing room. She then continually kept muttering she wanted to be in the changing room with me but I wasn't comfortable with a stranger helping me dress so I had my mother help me but Amber made sure to make a remark each time. Also, the one time I did let Amber unzip the dress when my mother took my daughter to look at flower girl dresses she made a comment that I had black underwear on and so I still "had the black I wanted for the wedding"! I was in complete shock that she would comment on my undergarments. Amber then got very annoyed as we tried to pick a belt for the dress, and looked at my mom and my aunt and told them, "just go find one over there".... This lady about had me in tears with the lack of enthusiasm and huge lack of listening to what I wanted! She also disappeared as we tried on my daughters flower girl dresses. So even though we found the perfect flower girl dress, we will be looking for something similar elsewhere. I will never return to this store and THANK GOD I found another bridal shop who helped me find over 5 dresses I loved and worked with me for 2 hours to try them on and point out beautiful details in beading as well as different colors, styles, just walking me through the process and helping me say yes to my dress! The associates in this store were very friendly and helpful, but the dressing room area is way too small. There really wasn't enough room for anymore than three people to have their own space, probably because brides insist on bringing so many people with them when trying on dresses. I went on a weekend so it was obviously a busy time. My stylist Jacqui made all the difference in the world!! She was very patient, sweet, put no pressure on me to commit to anything and really listened to us to figure out what style we were looking for. She was very helpful, thoughtful and did her best to give us the most personalized experience. Her calm and laid back approach was just what we were looking for! It's always a very busy place. The women their have always been helpful. What I'm very disappointed with is when I went to get my dress it needed some alterations. When they took me back for this they never discussed the cost involved. I had the back let out , the length brought up, the sides brought in and a few other minor adjustments. The price of the alterations was way greater than the cost of my dress! They were over $250 alone and I'm just a bridesmaid. Very disgusted with that! When I was a bride I bought my dress from Davids Bridal and I expected that cost but never expected that with a bridesmaid dress. I think that they make a great profit alone on their dresses and the alterations should have a cap on them. Very upset! We purchased a gown for my daughter's wedding and were advised we should also purchase a slip and molded cup, which we did, believing our consultant. We got to the alterations appointment (not with David's Bridal - they really soak you for alterations) and the first thing the lady asked was "Why did you buy a slip and cup - you don't need them). Well now we all know why - and we all know why those sales receipts are marked "FINAL". David's doesn't want you to discover after you leave the store that they hosed you. The initial visit was okay. I had concerns about trying on one of the generic sizing dresses because of the possibility of stretching and not being true to size due to it being tried on a lot. When I expressed my concerns the attendant told me it didn't make a difference in the size that I should order the size I tried on.Even though I verbalized that, while it did zip up, it was snug and I was worried that I should go a size bigger. When I picked up the dress, due to my concerns, I wanted to make sure that it fit before I took it all the way home (it's a 40min drive). I was told that they were very busy and had no dressing room available for me to try it on to make sure it fit and that I had only two months from pickup to exchange it when we were told that it could be exchanged up till two months before the wedding. I took it home and sure enough it was a size too small. It seemed to me that once they got your money you no longer were a priority to them. It was very sad. I will not be buying from here or recommending this dress shop to anyone. Everyone in our bridal party had issues with the pick up of our dresses. We were given three days to pick it up when it came in. They had no consideration that some people might not be able to make a forty minute drive at the drop of a hat. Overall my experience was very positive! I took my mom to my first dress appointment to look for my wedding dress. The girl who helped me was fantastic! I had no idea what I wanted and she helped me narrow it down and found the perfect dress for me. I recently had 2 alterations appointments which also went so well! The woman who did my first appointment was great and so sweet. I almost passed out twice and she was incredibly patient with me. She even got me water and some chocolate! :) My second appointment was great, as well. My experience with my wedding gown was fantastic! Unfortunately, when I took my girls in for their bridesmaid dresses, we didn't have the same experience. I had asked on the phone if they needed to know how many girls and they said no. We got there and had 1 dressing room for six girls to try on dresses. When we asked if we could use the room beside us, the girl helping us was very immature stating that it wasn't her room to clean up and the girl in charge of that room needed to pick it up before we could use it, which didn't make us very happy. Not to mention she was dressed incredibly inappropriately. She was also rude to one of my bridesmaids from out of town at check out. However, I did call the manager the next day regarding our experience and she was very nice and at least fixed the shipping issue we had with my out of town bridesmaid. Unfortunately, this particular employee made it a bad experience for my girls and me, but I have to say, otherwise, my other experiences with my gown were fantastic! read more

Overall I have been very pleased with my experience at David's Bridal in York. They had plenty of dresses for me to look at that met my prince range and other requirements. We arrived early for our appointment and they let us pick out dresses to try on once the consultant was available. That appointment started on time, and the consultant was helpful and knowledgeable. The appointment with my bridesmaids also went without a hitch. Although they didn't have sample sizes in the style we wanted for 2 of my bridesmaids, the size they ordered still fit them without any needed alterations. My dress and bridesmaids dresses all came within 2 months and we were all notified when they arrived. The alterations appointment went pretty well, the only complaint would be the price. The total adds up quickly and it seemed to me that with as much as they had to take in, they could have ordered a size smaller and saved time and money. Tatiana worked with me and she did a fantastic job and helped make the dress even more beautiful. She had the idea to do a French bustle instead of traditional bustle but made sure I was on board with it before altering the dress to have that bustle. The alterations were finished within a few weeks. With as expensive as the alterations are, I certainly hope those seamstresses are paid well because it is a difficult job and Tatiana did a fantastic job. For any brides searching for their gown, I do recommend David's Bridal to find your dress but it wouldn't hurt to search around for better alteration prices. Scheduling an appointment was easy and weekday afternoons/evenings are a much less busy and crowded time at the store which helped make the experience nicer. read more

I am getting married in December, and so far David's Bridal has been a great help to me. When I went to get my dress the staff was very patient as I tried on over 15 dresses. There have been a few minor problems with scheduling appointments, but the store has been extremely flexible. They have a wide selection of dresses, but not always in the color that you want. Overall, David's Bridal has been a good experience. read more
