I went into the store to look at mother of the bride/groom dresses. As I entered no one was sitting at the reception table. I waited a bit as a few store employees finished their non-work related conversation. Finally, one of the women asked if she could help. I asked if I could look at mother's dresses. She told me I had to have someone with me. She called over two women to help. Neither of them were very eager to help. I explained what I was looking for (long dress, navy or wine colored, flowy/short sleeved, some beading) and one of the women proceeded to pull a few dresses off the rack that were totally opposite of what I wanted. After half-heartedly showing me three or four dresses she said, "Yeah, I don't really know if we have what your looking for, so you can just look around." I left the store and visited another store nearby where I was eagerly greeted and assisted. Happily I found the perfect dress (after being shown at least eight dresses that fit the description I gave). read more

Overall, my mom and I really enjoyed our experience at David's Bridal. In the end, we walked away with a dress for the mother of the bride and a bridesmaids dress for me, the bride's sister. In comparison to the other stores we looked at, David's Bridal is more affordable! The ladies were very helpful and were running back and forth with different sizes and colors! However, the one woman that was helping us would wander away at times. Of course I appreciate the privacy at times, but my mom and I would need assistance and couldn't find her for a good 5 minutes. Overall though a great experience!! Very helpful and kind. read more

The associate helping us, Margaret, was rude, unprofessional, and not helpful at all. We had a 1 hour appointment to look at Bridesmaid dresses, and it was 30 minutes into our appointment before she even came over to see us in the dressing rooms. She kept leaving and wouldn't return for minutes at a time. They clearly double booked us with someone else. She kept taking away the dresses we wanted to keep to try on again. We quickly went past our 1 hour mark since it took her 30 minutes to even get over to us, and at the 1.5 hour mark she told me that since we didn't have the final dresses picked out, we needed to leave and come back a different day. She approached my mother when one of my bridesmaids was trying on one last dress and told her that she had a bride coming in and that's why we needed to leave. There were tons of open dressing rooms and associates sitting around at the front counter. We asked to stay and try on dresses by ourselves without her help (since we'd pretty much been doing that the whole time anyway) and she said no. She never once apologized for being late to meeting with us or having to keep running away. She just kept making excuses: taking care of another bride, store is always busy on Saturdays, etc. I love my dress and I had a fabulous time picking it out at a different David's Bridal store (Oakdale, MN), but our whole experience today made me regret buying my dress from David's Bridal. If we end up coming back to the Fargo location to purchase the Bridesmaid dresses, I will refuse to let Margaret help us, and will be asking for someone else. read more

Horrible customer service and very plain looking dresses! I regrettably took my bridesmaids here to shop for bridesmaid dresses. During our appointment our consultant spent all of her time visiting with employees at the other side of the store. Whenever we needed assistance or had a question we had to go searching for our consultant. I don't even think she noticed when we left the store. I am so glad I never came here when I was shopping for a wedding dress. read more

We were in on a Saturday afternoon and they were VERY overbooked. There was very little room to browse or walk without stepping on some bride's potential dress. I did not find any of their bridesmaids dresses appealing at all. There was a large selection of wedding gowns, and my friend (the bride) was very happy with her dress and her consultant was very helpful. As long as she is happy, we are happy. The prices are reasonable and if the whole bridal party orders their dresses from them, we all get a 20% discount. Clean store with lots of mirrors! read more

I had a horrible experience with this David's Bridal, from start to finish. At my appointment to pick out a dress (in the middle of the day on a Monday), my "stylist" was apparently working both of the only two appointments in the store at the time. They tried to put me in a dressing room right next to (behind at the moment) the only other bride in the store, with nowhere for my party to sit. I requested we go to the other side of the dressing rooms, and that request was granted. Then, we picked out dresses. The replacement stylist just started to get helpful with some help from the manager on duty. We had narrowed it down to about 4 dresses when apparently the "real stylist" finished her other appointment and came to take over at mine. She was rude, abrupt, spoke very rudely to my mother, and was and obnoxious know-it-all about what I liked when she'd missed the first hour of the appointment. Regardless, we ordered the dress and that was that. When my dress arrived, I did not receive notice and had to call them. I picked up my dress. I went to get alterations done 2 months before my wedding day. Things went fine the first appointment. When I went back for my next fitting, there were some things that needed to be done, and they acted like I was supposed to take it home. They had not steamed it without the bustle down, the bustle needed an extra loop as dress was dragging, and they had steamed the ruching the WRONG WAY, making it look worse on the bodice than it had when I brought it in. The alterations person said they would take care of all of that and I could pick it up a week before my wedding. So, two days before I left for my destination wedding, I went to my appointment to pick up my dress. They had not touched it since I was last there. There were safety pins still in my dress and when I mentioned that, a very snarky woman working there said someone had just forgotten, so she took them out. One was the one where another bustle loop was supposed to have been put in, so of course it fell to the floor. The bustle was still up, nothing had been steamed. She was VERY rude to me, suggesting they had not messed up at all and that this was all my fault, and that they would have me put it on before they would do any of that. I did, but of course, they had done NOTHING to it since the last time we played this game. She then suggested they shouldn't even bother steaming it since I was taking it on an airplane (in the most snotty way possible). I had to ask for a manager, who was polite. I had to then leave the store for an hour while they steamed it and made the alterations. When I came back, they brought it out again with the bustle up, not steamed. Another half hour later, they came out with a bag with my dress in it and I haven't looked at it since. I did not have high expectations of David's Bridal, I know they are the Walmart of the bridal world, but this is ridiculous. I would never ever ever ever go there again, and I am certainly not planning to ever need to. Save yourself the stress and pay a little more to go elsewhere. read more

I went there for bridesmaid dress shopping. I walked in and signed in and had a consultant come up to me. She asked how many bridesmaids I had with, I told her 5 and she said "oh great". Not the best way to be greeted as a nervous bride. Then she asked what color I wanted, I said I know what it looks like but I don't remember the exact name she then said "oh, that's helpful" and walked me over to the color board where I was immediately able to pick out the color. She then asked me what kind of dress I was looking for, I said I wasn't exactly sure and that I would like for my bridesmaids to pick out a dress they liked and felt comfortable in, so not all of them had to necessarily have the same dress. I knew once they all started trying dresses on we would narrow it down. The girls started picking out dresses and asked if I wanted short or long dresses, before I could answer our Consultant said "ya, usually it would be helpful if the bride has some sort of opinion". My entire experience shopping for bridesmaid dresses was AWFUL and the reason why I didn't get my wedding gown there. I have 4 friends getting married within the next year and told them all to go anywhere but David's Bridal for their dresses. read more

I went to David's Bridal with my soon to be Sister-in-Law to try on bridesmaid dresses. We were told we had to order the dresses before February 1, 2016 for a wedding that was not until July of 2016. Three of us went in, in the end of January to order our dresses. They asked for our phone number when we walked in the door and for the bride's name. One of the ladies came and measured us. No problem. Then we order the dresses and we were told that they would be in, in about 6 weeks. Right around Easter of 2016, the bride sends out a text saying that the dresses were in and that she was wondering why no one had picked up the dresses or even made contact with David's Bridal to pick the dresses up. Well no one was called and David's Bridal told the bride that they sent out emails to all the bridesmaids that ordered dresses and that they didn't have any phone numbers for the any of the bridesmaids. Funny, none of gave an email address and if they were not picked up in 7 days the dresses would be sent back to the factory, even if they were paid for. The bride said that David's Bridal was mailing the dresses to her. I had no problem with that. Until she got the dresses and the dress for my daughter who is also in the wedding was the size that she tried on last August when we were trying dresses on and picking out the style. My daughter was 11 when we tried on dresses and will be almost 13 when the wedding comes around. At that time she was in an adult size 2 dress. That is the size of dress that they sent, even though we discussed ordering her a size 4. So I had to make a specific trip up to West Fargo to trade in the size 2 dress and order a size 4 dress. When we get up to West Fargo David's Bridal, the manager there at the time tells us that the notes say that they were supposed to order her a size 4 but didn't. The new dress came in 4 weeks later. I went up there to pick it up to make sure it was the right size. When I was there I asked how they could send out an email with no email address. One of the workers told me that corporate sends out the emails. I tried to explain that I never gave them an email address for them to send it to and all they could tell me is that corporate sends it out. Not happy with the service. Especially, if you buy a dress and if you don't pick it up or make arrangements to pick it up they send it back to the factory, even if it is paid for. Biggest problem is trying pick up a dress when you don't know when it came in because they sent out an email with no email address. read more

I had a great experience at first... but when I needed alterations on my prom dress everything went wrong. First they put my dress under a different name. Then I got my dress back and I'm very unhappy with my alterations. I added a belt and it seems to be sewn in crooked. The dress has major gapping in the front and back. read more

My 15 year old daughter got to David's Bridal before me and apparently was very nervous, not sure what she wanted and started rambling on and on. The consultant, Samantha, was AMAZING with her. She asked my daughter a couple questions about what she liked and didn't like, immediately brought us to a dressing room and brought over several dresses to try on. She could tell right away when my daughter was uncomfortable (dress with too much chest showing) and ushered her back to change and removed such dresses from the options. She was very kind to ask about what kind of shoes she'd be comfortable in and brought over a wonderful pair of wedges, even added a nice pink sash to her final choice. I don't know if they get commission or whatever but I was so amazed by her professionalism in working with a teenager to find a prom dress where generally they are cheaper than wedding dresses, not a whole lot of extra accessories, no bridal party to dress, etc. She went above and beyond and made my daughter feel less nervous about her first prom experience! Will definitely be going back there for more prom dresses and asking for Samantha! read more

This place is filled with rude ass employees. What an unpleasant experience. My daughter tried on 28 dresses at several different shops and Davids was by far the worst experience. Snotty employees, we were told not to touch anything, and the most uncomfortable dressing and display area ever. read more
