I am a 59-year-old woman with a significant disability. I am planning a commitment ceremony with the man I love in April 2017. It will be a first time for me! Saturday June 18, 2016 I decided to go to David's bridal and look for a dress for me and three of my closest family and friends as bridesmaids. I was feeling somewhat anxious, nervous and out of place. The reasons: 1. I would turn 60 12 days after the ceremony, 2. it wasn't going to be a real wedding (for reasons I won't get into here) and 3. I have a significant disability and use a power wheelchair. Then I met Courtney Bernal!!! She calmed my fears and put me totally at ease! I was not able to get out of my chair and I cannot stand so I wasn't sure I would be able to try anything on. Or that I would even be able to find something that would work for me. Courtney was certain! She even asked Inez Thompson to come out from alteration to try on a dress and sit in the chair so I could see what it would look like! Feeling much more confident we made an appointment for the next Saturday to actually try dresses on me. Today June 25, 2016 I purchased the dress I will wear! I love it and it is beautiful! Courtney even came in for my appointment when she was supposed to have the day off! Everyone I encountered at David's bridal was supportive, encouraging and willing to help in anyway possible! Today was an exciting, yet anxious day for me, as I shopped for the perfect wedding gown for the first time. Although I was full of emotions, my stylist, Alexis, and her store manager, Emily, calmed my nerves and made me feel at home. I had their full attention, as I schedule an appointment a week prior to find my wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses. They allowed enough time for my mother and I to glance through the bridal gown book, to give me the chance to tag my favorites. Thereafter, they brought out the first dress, which I liked a lot. We broke it down to what I loved and disliked about the dress. They asked me several questions about my theme, things important to me about the dress, and if I saw the dress fitting into my theme. They brought out the second dress, which ended up being the dress I chose for my wedding. I knew I loved this dress, but they put me in dresses of all types to make sure that second dress was the one, all lace of course! Alexis was so kind, patient, and helpful. I felt like I had silly questions about shoes, alterations, and jewelry, but she was eager to point my mother and I in the right direction. I feel like I'm on cloud nine. I got "the dress" and the entire day was dedicated to me! I even got to ring the bell, make a wish for my future husband and I, and be treated like a princess for a day! I'm just 4 short days away from my wedding. Having second thoughts about the fit of my dress, I made an appt to try it on one last time before the big day. I arrived a bit early and was immediately greeted by Kayla Butler who took me right back to help me into my dress. Kayla had so many wonderful (and easy) ideas and ways to switch things up and make what I had been imagining come true! Not only did she help me with making these changes, she also helped me to decide on which hairstyle would look best, shoes that would work and a headpiece that just completed my dream look! But it doesn't end there! Being the procrastinator I am, I was super stressed about ties I had purchased for my groom and groomsmen ..they were shipped to me folded and wrinkled (from Amazon) I do not own an iron or steamer (nor would I even know how to use either) so of course I was just venting out loud when Kayla said she would be more than happy to come in early (before her shift mind you) and re-steam my dress along with the ties! I had the most amazing experience finding the perfect wedding gown for my big day. I recently visited David's Bridal at the Gateway Mall in Lincoln. I was impressed to know that upon my arrival, the staff had already printed out my favorites that I had saved on my David's Bridal App. I was assigned to Hayli. I first informed her that I was super nervous as being in the spotlight has never been me. She made feel so welcomed and calmed me down during my visit. She gathered all the dresses I had liked and we tried them on one by one. She was very supportive in my decisions. Upon giving her my reactions to the styles of dresses, she went out onto the floor and gathered up the perfect dress that she thought would match my interests. After trying on the dress twice, I said YES! Thanks to Hayli, I found the perfect dress for my perfect day. She knew my budget and she knew my style. I have been working with this bridal shop for about 9 months now. I recently brought my final bridal gown and reception dress home. I will note not all of my many experiences at David's have been positive, there have been a couple times where attitudes and the demeanor of staff could have been more positive. But, in the end, I feel my situation was made up for and I am leaving a very happy Bride to be! After searching shops in Lincoln, Omaha, Wahoo, Wymore, and others I decided David's was a good fit for me. They offered size exchanges on their dresses, which was important because I am a plus size bride and was worried about ordering a dress and having to alter it too much. I did not want to lose the integrity of my dress. Good thing they offered this, because I went in trying on a size 24. I just brought home a 16! My consultant was Kayla and she is simply amazing! Another person I'd like to mention is Hannah, she helped me find a dress I thought was unavailable in the size I needed! I know not a lot of experiences at David's are similar to mine, but they have done a fabulous job accommodating size exchanges for my girls as well. I'd definitely give them a chance! read more

David's Bridal was the first place I went to only try on different styles of wedding dresses. The first evening of looking I found The Dress that reminded me of those childhood daydreams of becoming a Cinderella. However, I was on a very strict budget. Eventually I found another dress from a different store for $100 cheape.. Long story short, when I brought the dress I had purchased back to David's Bridal, they let me know about how much alterations would be and how the dress didn't fit as it should, as the other store did NOT do for me. I was very upset in my choice. However, Courtney Bernal, the store manager, went above and beyond with all of her patience and uplifting words. The words she spoke to me were nothing close to a "sales pitch" (as it was not needed, because I had already purchased a dress) but very personal, warming, and loving. That same day I returned my mistake of a dress and went back to Courtney immediately to purchase The Dress I had first fell in love with. I contacted David's Bridal on April 22, in search of a particular pair of shoes. I spoke with Kari McCloud and she was awesome. Very professional, courteous, caring, made me feel like she really cared about my situation. Long story short the store did not have the shoes I wanted but she contacted the order department and worked it out for me so I am able to have the shoes I wanted. She definetly went the extra mile, and I can't tell you how gratefull I am. I did thank her mulitiple times and she suggested I do a review on Yelp. I am the mother of the bride and we have been working with the store in Omaha where we live, bought my daughters dress as well as my dress there and 8 bridesmaids dresses. The Omaha store did not have the shoes I wanted in stock, simply said they couldn't order them in time for the wedding, so I thought I would reach out to the Lincoln store since my dress was sent to Omaha from the Lincoln store because Omaha didn't have my size. I was very pleased by my experience at the David's Bridal in Lincoln. My sister and I went to another bridal store in the area, and were treated very poorly. We decided to walk-in to David's Bridal, and were kindly greeted at the door by Kayla B. She asked if we had an appointment, we answered no, and she said "no problem!" and started to help us immediately. We were looking for bridesmaid dresses and she showed us to the racks. All of the dresses were displayed by length, style, and color- very organized. She gave us swatches of the dress colors my sister liked. When we were ready to head to the dressing rooms, Kayla showed us back. She asked numerous times if we needed help, clipped the back of dresses that were too large, and even helped me put on a fake baby bump (as I may be pregnant at my sister's wedding!) It was sweet. We ended up loving our experience and loving a dress- which the bridesmaids will purchase and wear to the wedding in the fall. David's was the second bridal store I visited. I was greeted by the manager, Courtney, who was very kind and immediately put me at ease. I didn't have an appointment, and I had planned to just look around, but she gently encouraged me to try on some dresses. This was the second store I had been to, and with a poor experience at the previous store I was hesitant. Mackenzie was the stylist who helped me that day. She was patient and truly listened to what I liked and didn't like. I visited another store the next day, and while that person was kind, she and I weren't able to connect on what I was looking for. I went back to David's a few days later without an appointment but they were able to get me in within an hour. This time my stylist was Ann. She also had a calming and very friendly presence. I had two dresses to try on and the second one was the winner - I had found my dress within 5 days. Each person I encountered was genuinely friendly and it was clear they enjoyed their jobs. Out Prom Dress shopping with my niece n when we walked in the door whomever was the gal @ the table (never got her name) was rude from the start... Multiple times she glared at us after we found some dresses to try on and ask about a room - we were told to just go stand off to the side n she would get back to us - we asked if she needed a name but was told "no I know what u like" when another sales associate came by n asked if we had been helped we replied kind of that we were just waiting for a room to try on... Instantly she was very friendly AND helpful - she got us into a room even after the first gal shook her head at us and told her no - she continued to help us and my niece ended up finding the dress she just HAD to have. So THANK YOU HAYLI for all of her help if you wouldn't have stepped in and helped our business would have went elsewhere. I went into David's yesterday for alterations on my wedding dress, and it was amazing. Renaeh who was working on my alterations was very informative as to what she was doing and why she was doing it. It made me feel comfortable to leave my dress in her hands. I know my dress will look amazing when she is finished. While I was back in the alterations department the manager Courtney came back and was very attentive to all of the customers back there. She even helped in the decision on what type of bustle I should have for my dress. Courtney went out of her way for all of her customers. She was all over the floor making sure everyone was taken care of. It was nice to see that from a manager, in most places the manager will sit back and watch everyone else work. David's did a great job taking care of me and making sure all of my needs were met! The entire experience from picking my dress to the alterations has been great. I made an appointment a little nervous because the reviews on line for this place were slightly poor. However! I was treated like a princess my entire appointment. Courtney B. - store manager- was helping me. She didn't bring me anything I didn't like - going off the suggestions I gave her and what my wedding was going to look like. She did an amazing job helping pick out the right dresses. She was not pushy in any way. She gave me space and time to think, because I had so many beautiful dresses to chose from that all fit perfect for what I was going for. She was kind, fun and knew her job very well. I went to David's Bridal in Lincoln in December after not having very good luck in the one in Omaha. Courtney was the person who helped me. She went above and beyond to help me find the dress I ended up choosing. She was obviously very passionate about her job and made me feel like she genuinely cared about me and whether or not i found what I was looking for. She picked out dresses for me based on what I told her I was looking for and what she could gather from my personality. The dress I ended up getting was one that she suggested that I didn't think I was really going to like. I ended up loving it! She never once was pushy and she gave me all the time in the world to make a decision. She didn't try to sell me all kind of crap just to make a couple more dollars. I don't have any comparisons to make since I went to David's Bridal first and found my wedding dress in one appointment, but I was very pleased with my experience overall. I highly recommend Lauren A. in particular to anyone who comes dress shopping here. She was very personable, and clearly very knowledgeable about my preferences. I arrived with a list of dresses I liked, and unfortunately, they didn't have any of them in store at the moment. I was really discouraged at first, but eventually, Lauren was able to find a dress that was beautiful beyond what I ever imagined finding when I walked in. She listened to my critiques/praises of the first few dresses I tried on and kept bringing other dresses that eliminated the things I didn't like while keeping the things I did. I found my dream dress in about five tries, and I couldn't be happier with the decision. read more

I had a terrible experience at another bridal shoppe. I came to Davids because its big enough that I thot I might be able to disappear in the dresses while contemplating the thought that my special day wasn't going to be what I had pictured since there must not be a single dress I could look good in. As I was sifting through racks of dresses and wondering why I was there, the manager spotted me and started asking the right questions. She really listened to me and dress #2 not only Was exactly what I was looking for, but actually looked great on!! I had several compliments from other shoppers and felt like a million bucks when I left, dress in hand. Because this store is a chain, I feel it's underrated. I honestly loved getting my dress from Davids! They were super helpful and worked with my crazy timeline! Emily understood how important it was that i had purple on my dress and what i pictured myself wearing and looking on my big day! She let me try the dresses on as many times as it took! It honestly felt like she was reading my mind! She put me in my dream dress with the most amazing shoes and veil! She took the time and made room for us. She not only found me a dream dress but my mother as well. I will be going back to get the flower girl dresses and bridesmaids dresses!! Emily was a rock star that day! I started the search for my dress through the David's Bridal website. I was able to view and save my favorites to my profile. Making an appointment was as simple as a few clicks. When I arrived at the store I was greeted very warmly and without hassle. Kayla B. was energetic and fun and made the whole process seem like a breeze. Without knowing the dresses I had saved to my favorites list, she was able to pull one of my top two simply by listening to what I told her I was looking for. I am not a person who likes to be nearly naked in front of anyone, but Kayla made me completely comfortable. I never dreamed that I would find my dress in less than an hour but these ladies have it down to a science. This was my first experience at David's Bridal they had a lot of selections. I made an appointment. The only time they had was an hour later. I didn't call so it was okay. I walked around Gateway. Lane Bryant was the only nice place. The rest of the sales people were rude saying I could go to Omaha for Formal ware because there was no formal ware in my size or order online. I returned to David's Bridal. There was a wonderful selection. I found the perfect dress with Marcella's help. I hope I am spelling her name right. She helped me with the dress. It was only $99! She treated me so well. It was perfect. Then I received discounts and coupons! The 3 coupons I used totaled more than $60.00 ! The only place at Gateway Mall with a large selection. The women at David's Bridal at this location did an excellent job! Not only for helping me find the dress of my dreams, but for the excellent service we received from a specific employee when it was crunch time and my Maid of Honor's dress didn't fit! Inez in alterations did phenomenal. She was booked solid and still made time to look at and FIX the dress in like an hour or so, 2 days before my wedding. It looked like the alterations may not have been completed, or not correctly the first time and Inez just took care of it. She called me when the dress was done, had my MOH try it back on to be sure she was satisfied and thanked us for our business. Thank you Inez for being a super star and leaving me feeling like the luckiest bride in the world for having people like you supporting our big day. read more
