I had a very disappointing experience with the hiring process at David's Bridal. I was hired and went through the onboarding process, but after that I was barely scheduled at all. Weeks would go by with little to no hours, and communication from management was extremely poor. When I tried to ask about getting on the schedule or picking up shifts, I was often met with rude responses or completely ignored. It felt very unprofessional and honestly misleading to hire someone if there's no intention of actually giving them work. If you're applying here expecting consistent hours or respectful communication, I would strongly suggest asking a lot of questions first. TERRIBLE ALTERATIONS! I had a horrible experience with alterations on my mother-of-the groom dress. I think I could have done a better job myself, and I paid $178! I had the bodice shortened at the shoulders (a reasonable $13); armholes cut down (a reasonable $33); sleeves reset (a reasonable $33); the dress and lining hemmed (an unreasonable $66) for a 34" hem circumference; and the leg slit sewn from above knee to slightly below ($33). The seams weren't finished in the armholes; the hem wasn't pressed (until I asked) and the hem looked puckered; the leg slit they partially closed was not closed completely, (part of the lining showed) and it was puckered; and they added an unexpected pleat on each shoulder. I didn't notice the unfinished seams or the botched slit until I got home, so I was stuck with fixing these things myself. Went here for my grandmothers funeral dress. I know it sounds crazy but my grandfather meet her in white and he wanted her buried in white. They did everything they could to make sure we was happy with the dress and helped us look for what we needed it was a great experience during a sad time for me . She looked beautiful and I could not of been happier with the dress and covering. I came in with hang-ups about how I would look in this or that, and she assured me to be open-minded, and helped me feel confident and extra special! She even did the same with my mom, helping her select a MOB dress in the same appointment (which wasn't planned). I met Valerie as I was trying on dresses, and she immediately made alteration suggestions that helped me fall even more in love with my dress. Her knowledge and expertise with fabrics and how to make flattering alterations is fantastic. She is so kind and had the most beautiful way of approaching me, making suggestions and really, making me feel like the center of her attention. Okay, I'll be the first to admit that I have trash talked David's Bridal for years... "the Walmart of wedding dresses" etc. But here I am, years later, recanting my statements while just having purchased the dress of my dreams from who? David's Bridal. The irony is not lost on me. That all being said- I have nothing negative to say about this experience. I booked an appointment online, and upon arrival the consultant asked me to look around and take pics of what I liked so she could pull them. She then quickly had me in a dressing room with four chairs outside for my entourage to rest comfortably while watching me try on dresses. I highly recommend spending a good amount of time screenshooting what you like on their website prior to your apt for maximum time usage. I think I tried on a total of 8/9 dresses and mine was the last one. Mackenzie was an amazing consultant. She was so helpful, sweet, and really listened to me on what I wanted. She actually picked my dress! I never expected to buy a wedding dress at my first 'try on stop,' but here we are! I cried when she put the veil on my head. It's so not what I expected, but I'm very happy! They even have a cute little sign to take pics with once you say "yes to the dress," as well as a little bell they have for you to ring while you close your eyes and make a wish. I will also comment on the helpfulness of management too. With my wedding being two months out (military 'before he leaves for basic' weddings are fun, aren't they?) the dress, if ordered in my size, wouldn't arrive until a month after my wedding date. The whole management team was standing around me (5 min before the store closed) searching the entire east coast on the DB online database to try to find my dress in the right size. Unfortunately, there were no dress sizes smaller than the sample I tried on (a size 6 when I'm a size 0). Their in house alterations team can only size a dress down about two sizes, so that was out of the rhelm of possibilities. They ended up offering me a 10% discount on the sample dress + it was on sale! I ended up walking away with a $500 dress for less than $400! I do have to find my own seamstress, but hey, I found THE dress! All in all, I recommend this place. Mackenzie is great, dresses are gorgeous and service is up to par. She was rude, acted as if she did not want to be assisting us at all, gave backhanded comments, it was truly awful. I'm not sure how she works in this industry. HORRIBLE ALTERATIONS DEPARTMENT Below is the email I sent to David's bridal customer service twice and received no reply. I had to take my dress to someone else for alterations and they had to completely redo the back of the dress because I was fitted wrong at David's bridal and the dress had to be taken in too much on the sides which comprised the back of the dress. I work engagement parties sometimes and have already warned a few brides to stay away from David's Bridal! My experience with the sales ladies has been absolutely wonderful. The alterations department not so much. My 1st appointment for alterations went great or so I thought. When I went back to do my pick up the dress was not satisfactory. The hem was a bit shorter than I wanted, uneven and the top layer was shorter in places than the 2nd layer. The back was supposed to come to a V shape and was in a U shape from where the sides were taken so far in. The straps were way too tight. I spent over 3 hours at my 2nd appointment for them to try and figure out how to fix this. I ended up having to go back and meet with another lady to figure out how to fix the back. I went back yesterday to pick up my dress as we are down to 3 weeks from wedding day and this experience was horrible. The hem in 1 spot is still longer than the top layer. The seamstress that worked on my dress came out to talk to me because the bust area was absolutely huge and fit at my last appointment. Her recommendation was to add more bra cups to fill out the bust area which looked completely unnatural and ridiculous. She then said they could redo the entire bodice but that would be pricey as they can't do labor for free. She kept pushing for me to just add bra cups but who wants to go to their wedding looking like they got a boob job for a day!!! I then changed back into my clothes and went to hang my dress back up but the dress hanger hooks were gone. They had forgotten to put them back on. The manager on duty(Victoria maybe, it started with a V) then came back and had me put the dress back on. As I was changing back into the dress her and the seamstress were talking and the seamstress said I gave her the only options she has but the manager said I want to see her in it and see if I have any ideas. She was very nice and was able to add a few stitches under the arm and made the dress fit much better. She was amazing and you are blessed to have her. The dress still doesn't fit like it should but I went ahead and left with it and will just have a family friend in that line of work see if she can do anything. I really think the dress was not fitted properly. I spent close to $350 on alterations and the overall experience with the alterations department was a nightmare and my dress still isn't what I was expecting. I have held off on leaving a google review. I wanted to bring this to your attention 1st. I feel most of this department does not know what they are doing and needs to take classes to learn instead of "learning as they go" which is what 1 of the newer girls told me. I feel it was very unprofessional for me to be told just buy more bra cups and add to the bust to make it look full or we can redo the entire bodice but it will be pricey we can't do labor for free. Absolutely horrible exp. Sales staff was totally attentive. Sent my daughter in a dressing room by herself-nobody to help her get the dress on. Very limited stock. Apparently need an appointment to even look around. Made us come back 5 hrs later, only to be ignored by the 5 employees doing nothing. Selection was poor very limited. There were several dresses on the rack that had tears and damage. Dressing rooms were much too small, the viewing area was totally public no privacy. The staff was rude and inattentive; seemed put out by helping customers. I heard the manager tell employees to turn away any walk ins because they were totally "booked" today, yet there were 5 people standing around doing nothing and playing on phones. We left pretty quickly. Found a much better selection (and purchase) elsewhere. If I could give zero stars, I would. The fact that their leadership provides such a marginal unacceptable response to my concerns and complaints further substantiates my issues. Absolutely terrible selection and customer service and clearly nobody really seems to care. I'm glad that I discovered inferior service before we purchased anything from them. I strongly recommend anyone in need of their services, shop elsewhere. There's plenty of selection in town, no need to have your special day ruined by a bunch of clowns in a store that really doesn't care and seems bothered that you want to spend your money there. I had a great experience finding my bridesmaid dress with the stylist Haley, and the stylist Annelise next to her was very sweet and complemented me and made me fall more in love with the dress. I had a great time with alterations and Ariel took a lot of time and wanted the best for me and didn't try to make me buy more items. My appointment went well and I was happy with the overall service in the store. The girl who assisted me seemed newer but was very friendly, answered all of my questions and made the shopping experience easy! I needed my dress shipped fast as I live out of state and the manager offered to take care of that for me once it arrived. However.... my dress was literally just crumpled up into a shipping bag, nothing to protect it had the bag been ripped open...it was shipped out this way!! Who treats a $1300 dress like that?!? No garment bag, no garment bag offered. Literally the dress of my dreams and the most expensive apparel item I've ever purchased arrived as if it had been purchased from a reseller. Not sure how to rate this. Haven't really had a bad experience, though.... Made an appointment to try on a bridesmaid dress. Dress fit perfect. Asked if I could order it a month later. No problem. Ordered it. Arrived and it fit well except the bust area was too big.... bigger than I remembered that dress I tried on was. Hmm. Made an alterations appointment for later this month. We'll see how that goes. Made another appointment for another bridesmaid dress. Tried it on. Fit OK. Wanted to wait to order it until closer to the wedding date and the sales lady seemed shocked. Tried to convince me to order now. Couldn't afford it so I didn't. Haven't ordered it yet. Soon, hopefully... (I have 6 months until the wedding). Both times my appointments were punctual and quick. I went there to look for a mother of the bride dress. I was greeted at the door and asked what I was looking for. After being pointed in the right direction, that was pretty much it. The store was not busy at all. It was the middle of the day on a weekday. I found several dresses to try on and carried them around for quite some time before anyone offered to help me. There were probably 3 or 4 sales women in the front of the store talking to each other. Not one of them ever even looked in my direction. I walked all over the store carrying all of the dresses, looking for a dressing room. I saw several other sales people that looked in my direction, but it took quite some time before anyone offered assistance. I tried on all of the dresses, didn't find one I liked, left the store, without so much as a thank you or offer of help. It is ridiculous that there were so many sales people in that store that were obviously not busy and not one of them really helped me at all! I'm really glad that my daughter has already found her gown in Cincinnati (where the service was exceptional I might add). I am very disappointed with my experience here. Months ago we had a BAD experience in David's bridal, my sister and I were trying on dress for my quinceañera and then we get called fat by this old lady I don't know her name but we ignored it the best we could. That was the first experience. Today we had the WORST experience my sister is getting married soon and we went to see dresses here. We asked if we had to make a appointment, the lady up front told us we didn't have to make a appointment if we didn't want the whole appointment experience. My sister has three dresses to try on, we weren't loud and we were putting the dresses back onto the racks. Everyone was making us uncomfortable because they were staring at us. One woman looked at me and told me we were only allowed to try on one more dress. We weren't told there was a limit, and felt this was rude of her. If there was a problem someone could've spoke to us instead of being rude and making us uncomfortable. We are Hispanic, we were the only people that got treated badly. We were stared at with weird faces. This store is so racist I can't believe we have to face this discomfort in 2023. read more

David's Bridal was the first place that I visited to shop for my wedding dress. I returned two more times to shop for wedding dresses, another time with my sister for her to try on her matron of honor dress, and again with the flower girl. I never had a sales associate smile or engage me in friendly small talk during any of those visits. I was happy with the dresses that I chose for my bridesmaids (really it's just easy to buy them from here) and flower girl. However, I bought my wedding dress at a local store where I had a much better experience. At the other store the sales associate made me and my aunt feel special and gave us her whole attention while I tried on dresses. I also felt that the dresses at David's Bridal weren't of the same quality as the other store. read more

COVID-19 temporarily closed my local David's Bridal location and I was unable to cancel my in-store purchase over the phone. I was assured by store managers my return and refund would be honored when local restrictions were lifted and the store reopened. On the day of the store's reopen, David's Bridal refused to honor my return and refund! They stated company policy had changed and brides affected by COVID-19 were only eligible for "in-store credit." This was NOT the return policy I agreed to upon payment of my purchase. It is NOT the return policy printed on my receipt. There is no David's Bridal customer service representative available to speak with. Their texting service is delayed. I was told via text that my case was being escalated and I would be contacted by a case manager within 24 hours. So far, no response. This is extremely disrespectful and frustrating. I am not only a bride, but a front line health care worker at a level one trauma center. I have helped those who were in need during these unprecedented times and in return, David's Bridal has decided to treat me with less respect than every other bride before me. I would not suggest David's Bridal to any friend or family member. I recommend all customers experiencing similar hardships to reach out to customer service representatives, the Better Business Bureau, and legal counsel. I walked into this shop on Friday with no appointment. I was greeted promptly. While looking at dresses a salesperson (Brittany, I think was her name) offered help. She assisted me in trying on at least 5 or 6 dresses. I was reluctant to come here based on all the reviews that I had read, however I had a great experience. Brittany helped me every step of the way. I probably spent at least 2 hours trying on dresses that day. I even tried the same dress on different times. She was not impatient or pushy with me at all. I found my perfect dress, shoes, and veil. Today I went back to have alterations done. Again, it was a very pleasant experience for me. As a bridesmaid, I had a few qualms about David's Bridal. A fellow bridesmaid and I came here to find dresses about a month before the wedding we were going to be in. First, the good. The sales associate was very helpful and patient with both of us. We tried on probably 20 different dress styles and she answered all of our questions, found our sizes, helped us get zipped up, etc. Now, the bad. We were informed that since our bride bought her dress at David's Bridal that we would get a discount on our dresses ($40 off, if I'm remembering correctly.) We both picked out dresses that were a little more pricey because of the discount. When we went to pay for them, we were informed that because they had the bride's wedding date in the computer, and since it was 4 weeks away or less, there would be a $40 rush charge. We were told that the dresses would arrive the week of the wedding. Here's what made me upset: I get a call from David's Bridal THREE days after the dress was ordered telling me it was ready. I could have dealt with the dress arriving two days before the wedding as far as time was concerned. So, I paid this ridiculous rush charge under the Impression that I would barely get the dress on time, and I get it in under a week. It seems to me like that charge was put in place just to get some extra money out of customers who are in somewhat of a hurry to get their items. I didn't like that at all, and when I mentioned it to a manager, she pretty much blew me off and told me that's just their policy. read more

I had the worst experience at this location. The only reason they are receiving one star is because of the 'seasoned' consultant I was placed with AFTER I was treated terribly by their customer service/appointment staff who told me (mind you, I am a military spouse) that "Most people have their dress appts at least a year in advance, but [they] guess [they] can work with me." My wedding is June 1, 2018 and I made my appoint back in March. Flash forward to after the dress and its alterations time, I received a call from the alt. department asking me to move my fitting THREE DAYS before hand after i had scheduled it almost two week prior. I called to talk about it, and I was put on hold for 15 minutes then told to call back in 30 minutes. Really? So I made my way to the "bridal salon" and talked to the manager on duty who then asked for Valerie, the alterations lady, to come to the front and discuss the time change. Valerie then told me that she "didn't know it would upset me this much" and that they "give brides an hour time slot, but it was overbooked for 30 min prom (!!!!) fittings." PROM! She continued to guilt trip me by talking about how she was going to be the only one there on Saturday and that they were so busy and basically made ME feel like I was in the wrong for scheduling my appts ON TIME! My experience was absolutely AWFUL. If I could give this salon zero stars I would. read more

I want to update my review after picking my dress up from the store. When the store notified me that my dress was ready to be picked up, I told them a date and time that I would be there (I live 90 miles away). I asked if they would help me to pick out a bra that I would be able to wear with my dress; and what better time to do so. They told me that'd be fine and that they would help me when I came into the store. When I went to the store a week or so later, they practically threw the dress at me in the plastic bag and tried to send me on my way. All of the employees seemed busy, rushed, and in no way helpful. I was VERY upset and left the store crying. I will not recommend this store to anyone. We had a great experience. We made an appointment the day of, and came with a list of dresses to see. Our consultant, Molly, was very accommodating, rushing to get different sizes and offering different color options. She listened to all three of us, and made recommendations based on our comments about the dresses we tried on. We ordered two dresses we loved (not the ones we specifically wanted to try on), and made an appointment to come back with junior bridesmaid and flower girl to try on the dresses Molly helped us find for them. I get there they had some random wedding date (where they got that date I have no clue) it took the "consultant" lady forever to come and help us. After being told to browse around through the hideous dresses with limited options for about 15 20 minutes the lady finally comes and starts off by saying she's with another bride so she will be going back and forth between the both of us. Makes zero sense since I had an appointment scheduled. I show the lady my ideas of a wedding dress and she proceeds to tell me that she won't be able to help me bc they don't have what I'm looking for. She then goes back to helping the other bride and I never see her again. I expected more. Even if you weren't able to find exactly what I was looking for something comparable with suffice or damn at least ACT like you were trying to help. She did nothing. I had been at this location before but never by appointment. This time, the bride made my daughter's brides maid dress fitting appointment on a Saturday afternoon. They were extremely crowded and seemed confused by the fact that the bride wouldn't be there but had already picked the color, style, etc. Twenty minutes after the appointment, my daughter was finally asked her size and then informed that she would need a bigger size. They should explain before asking your size that their dresses run small. They didn't have her size that was recommended that we drive to Florence to try it on. This is their most popular style and they can't order an average size eight?! I would never recommend that a bride choose this place for brides maid dresses, maybe they're better with the actual wedding dresses. The only reason I gave a two is the convenient location, right across the street from Fayette Mall. read more

I was so tired so I wasn't really looking forward to it, but when I walked in that all changed when I met Brittany, who was a really cute, fun, blond worker there! I told her I was getting married in 2 months, but I was going back to Hawaii in 1 month, so I needed to find the dress fast. She knew the store and their inventory so well, that she completely matched all of my wants and special needs for an amazing price ($470)!! All of that and I got my dream dress!! I needed sleeves so she went to the back and found these gorgeous flutter sleeves and I felt like a princess, everyone who worked there came and told me how beautiful I looked! In fact, I have never posted a yelp review, but as someone who works in the wedding industry, I feel that today's experience at David's Bridal required some feedback. We took our good friend/sister dress shopping today and were very disappointed with the experience. Although I'm happy to say she found the dress of her dreams and looked stunning in it, we were still very upset with the way we were treated throughout the appointment. We were told to take photos of tags for the dresses she might want to try on, and our consultant would be with us shortly because her last appointment ran over....no problem. After meeting with the consultant, she seemed very annoyed with the number of dresses we had selected for her to possibly try on. She would grunt and shake her head and disappear for a little while to find the dresses, and when she'd return, she'd say things like "here's YET ANOTHER dress"... this was very aggravating to the bride's sister and myself. We tried to shake it off because this was her day and we wanted it to be enjoyable for her. We explained to the consultant that this was our only day off work and her wedding is coming up very soon (November), so we were trying to make the most of the experience (plus no other bridal stores are open on Sundays). It's really unfortunate that a consultant could be so rude and miserable towards a potential client. It may be just another day for her, but for a bride this is a very important/special day. For the record, we did buy the dress she loved, thanks to the help of another consultant (caitlyn)...however, we were not pleased with the consultant for our appointment, christelle. I just hope that in the future, she could try a little more of a positive attitude towards potential clients, and realize that not everyone tries on 3 dresses and finds THE ONE out of those 3. read more

For the most part my day wedding dress shopping with my daughter was pleasant here. We had an appointment and were immediately welcomed and checked in when we arrived. We were given a stylist for the day who listened to my daughter's wish list and provided her with multiple options to try on. The stylist worked hard to make my daughter feel beautiful accessorizing each dress and finding multiple veils to try out with each dress. I think our stylist enjoyed the day more than we did; my daughter was like her own life sized Barbie. On the down side the things keeping me from giving a 5 star... First my daughter was trying on wedding dresses and wasn't given a dressing room that opened onto the platform. Yet, several woman came and went in platform rooms who were only trying on formals. Then before my daughter could even step up on the platform we had to ask another workers permission. We did not enjoy being cramped up in a corner with another large party who was quite loud. Second I WAS THIRSTY! Blew my mind that when I asked, you had no bottled water available to people spending hours in your shop getting ready to drop at least $1000. I was directed to a nasty water fountain! All in all we left with a beautiful dress and veil all while staying under budget. She said YES to the dress. read more

I bought a wedding dress from David's Bridal in December. I went in to ask to switch it out with a larger size this month or return it and they said their policy wouldn't allow it. Now I'm stuck with a wedding dress that doesn't fit 3 weeks away from my wedding. There were no alterations done on the dress and it had just been sitting in my closet in a bag. There's no difference between it being in my closet or sitting on their racks. They would not have lost any money switching the wedding dresses out for me, but they have lost my business. read more

I recently purchased my wedding dress from David's Bridal. Everything went smoothly and I was very happy with their service. Fast forward to my second alterations appointment, I tried on the dress to find that it did not fit at all how it did before alterations. This was not at all due to the fact that the alterations department is not skilled at sewing, but more likely due to an honest mistake on reading the ticket about my dress. I was a tad upset, as any bride would be if she discovered her dress didn't fit well, but the staff at David's Bridal were wonderful about helping to resolve the situation. Grace and Jennifer (I think that was her name) did everything they could to help out in the alterations department and Melisa, the general manager ordered me a new dress and had it into the shop in less than two weeks, even though it was a discontinued style and it had to be shipped from Ohio. The second dress fits perfectly and I couldn't be happier with how quickly the staff at David's Bridal dealt with the situation. Thanks, Ladies! read more

Very unpleasant experience shopping today. The lady who was helping us was very nice however the other employees were incredibly rude. I was shopping with my mother for her wedding gown and she is very unhappy with the level of customer service. We were followed and stared down for the latter half of our time in the store. We brought our bridesmaid dresses in to see them next to my mother's dress and when we were getting ready to leave, we were watched to make sure we weren't stealing or something. We believe we were being discriminated against for our skin color. We feel that the employee who was staring rudely at us took a nice experience and tarnished it and to think my mom was so excited to share this moment with us really makes us angry. And to think my mom ended up buying the dress that she wanted from them anyway; I advised that she/we not bring our business back to this location anymore (I have previously purchased a Debutante dress from this same location as well and I don't believe we had a much better experience). This was the first place I went to try on wedding dresses. Unfortunately they truly ruined the experience. I felt like they were just trying to push a sale. They weren't interested in finding what I was looking for. I felt very discouraged when I left. Not to mention they give you no privacy. read more
