David was a life saver when my partner and I were buying our condo this year. I spoke with him at first to understand what my then-lender was saying, and he was incredibly helpful. After those lenders made a mess of the situation and jeopardized the deal, we asked David to be our new lender. He came in and rescued the whole situation. He was given a short deadline by the sellers and multiple complications, and he still tied it all together. He was an absolute star. And funny, very funny. We will be using him in any future purchases! Thank you, David! read more

David is hands down one of the best lenders I've ever worked with. I've never had an easier property buying experience. He was extremely communicative to all parties and always checked in with me to make sure I knew where I was in the process, what I should do next, and coached me throughout the process. David is a very experienced lender who understands the needs of both first time home owners and folks with several properties. He knew that I was buying an investment property and went above and beyond to help set me up for success after the sale too. He coached me on the market and how to price and taught me how to avoid any pitfalls. He is very hard working, honest, and honestly a damn good human being. I highly recommend him. read more

We first worked with David to finance our first house purchase. Although we did not have the highest dollar offer, David was able to close the deal by understanding the wants of the seller and setting up a quick 14 day close period. At all times during the process, he and his team were personable and readily available to answer our questions, and the loan was ready to close earlier than the already accelerated timeline. Just a few months later rates dropped significantly, so again we reached out to David to refinance. He was able to secure us a competitive rate, and just as before everything went smoothly with all our questions answered quickly over the phone. I highly recommend working with David, and will no doubt be reaching out to him if rates drop again next year. read more

David is top notch. He knows his field inside out and is able to provide the best advice and information. What's really amazing about him is that he WILL provide the best advice and information for his client, even if it means not getting your business or not getting it immediately. My situation is unique and I faced a decision to proceed now, or wait a bit longer to buy. I COULD have purchased now, which clearly would have been better for David's business, but he advised me to do what is best for me, even though that means waiting a bit before proceeding. When I go forward with my purchase plans, I will definitely be going through David for the loan. read more

I unequivocally feel that David is the reason that I was able to secure a wonderful home that fit all of my desires as quickly and with the ease that I did. I would entrust vouching for his business acumen and integrity with any of my friends and family and can't see myself doing business with anyone else in the lending field. I previously met with lenders and was off put by their lack of interest in communicating with me and their seeming investment in just being sure a deal was closed irrespective of if it reflected my interests. As a first time homebuyer, I wanted to better understand the steps to homeownership. I'm a professor and so I had already read and researched the market- it was the actual protocol and procedure of it that was unclear for me. David walked me through it all before and along the entire way. He not only advised me of the properties that made the most sense for me but provided me with the data to ensure that I was making a sound financial decision. Beyond his communication with me, he actively worked with my realtor, the seller, and escrow to ensure that purchasing the home went without a hitch. I've come to find out that such acts are generally beyond the scope of lenders- but his ethics and integrity for making sure he serves the folks he works with transcends the competition. Since I've purchased, he has remained in communication with me to assist me with various related tasks. I'm grateful that he was so fervently recommended to me and now I know why. I know how intimidating purchasing a home can be- especially if it's your first- and for those reasons I can't recommend David Wright enough. He will demystify the home buying process for you and help make owning a home a reality. read more

From the very beginning David makes a 'connection' with you. With a wealth of knowledge / experience in the real estate market, he's more than just our Loan Officer, he's a mentor we can go to for advice / recommendations. We are extremely grateful to have hooked up with him and completely satisfied with how he and his team walked us thru our first 1031 project. Looking forward to working with him again in the near future. read more

David is absolutely hands down the best lender! I have nothing but good things to say about him. He is very knowledgeable and personable. I was a bit nervous in the beginning about home buying and David made me feel so at ease with his experience and expertise. David was able to walk me through everything, the application process was easy, he was very communicative through the whole process. As a veteran there are certain options available and David was knowledgeable and helpful with all of those questions I had about VA loans and CA property tax exemption. David is the best in the game! Everything was well explained, he provided analysis and cost breakdowns, videos to help walk you through the process and when I encountered an issue with working with the sellers agent. David was able to step right in, assist and in the end everyone was happy. David went above and beyond what most lenders would do. David Wright at FINANCE OF AMERICA in San Diego is an EXCEPTIONAL loan officer! My partner and I have 6 investment properties and our main home for a grand total of 7 properties. Our realtor, Vinnie Enriquez recommended that we talk to David wright at FINANCE OF AMERICA, and we are so happy that we did. David was able to get us amazing interest rates for all of our properties after many other lenders had turned us down. The entire process was very smooth, professional and quick. We've dealt with many lenders in the past and we can honestly say, that David and his team were the easiest to work with. We are still in shock that 5 of our 7 loans have already been completed and the last two should be done early next week. David asked us for all of our documents up front and there was no back-and-forth between us and the underwriter for additional information or documents. David and his team know what they are doing and do it well! We rarely rate any business we work with but in this case, we felt that we needed to give David and his team all the kudos for doing such an amazing job handling all of our loans at the same time. If you are considering purchasing or refinancing your home loan, we HIGHLY recommend David Wright at FINANCE OF AMERICA in San Diego! read more

We used David Wright during a recent (attempted) home purchase and he has absolutely earned each and every one of these five stars. It's a damn shame that the deal didn't go through, but that was no fault of David, the appraiser on the other hand... don't get me started. David works hard, like, really hard. He picks up the phone seemingly at all hours but that's no free pass to bother the guy. Just sit back and let the man work and all with be fine with constant clear communication and the constant disclaimer of "do not be afraid to ask me anything, there are no stupid questions." Well, let me tell you, I'm the king of stupid questions but I like to consider that as an attempt to be thorough and David takes it all in stride. Who knows when I will have a chance to work with David again but that's not what this review is here for. "What's the review for," you ask? This review is for you! Just because it may be years before getting back to the number crunching and frequent convos with David doesn't mean that you can't use his services when you need him. Go ahead, I encourage you, he's fan-freaking-tastic! read more

I always have a great experience working with David. He helped me secure a great loan with my home purchase several years ago and my refinance with today's great rates! I had an opportunity to interact with David when I made a bicoastal move. I rented an apartment from him and truly enjoyed my space. He was an honest, businessman, attentive landlord and fair in all the decisions when it came to the rental agreement during the 2 year time span that I lived in one of his properties. I rented from him without seeing the apartment and had to trust him from another coast, that is was getting what was advertised and I had ZERO ISSUES! He even helped with additional moving concerns that come with moving across America and it helped to make the transition better and put me as ease and I am forever grateful for his character and integrity. read more

I am Realtor that had a buyer using David Wright. We had a somewhat easy transaction, however we hit a few hiccups that loans, may encounter. David provided constant communication to all of us and Listing Agent. We really appreciated his transparency, and constant text/email updates. He was able to CLOSE the deal, and make a lot of happy people. We will gladly recommend him to other buyers. Thank you David, great working with you!! read more

My relationship with David started with a phone call. I had some questions about "construction loans," and more specifically about buying an investment property to live in using VA benefits. At the time of our first phone call, David had zero connection to me, zero obligation to help me, and more importantly, zero monetary benefit in consulting me. I was initially impressed with his knowledge of the market and easy-going, professional, and positive attitude. He made me feel comfortable in generating my own ideas and opinions, and figured out ways to help me put them into action. It wasn't until weeks after this phone call that David and I rekindled our relationship. I had a plethora of lending troubles throughout my home-buying process which ultimately led me to go back to the person I knew I could trust if I wanted to close on a property; David. His advice and professional expertise held constant throughout our time in working together. From day one of "hiring" him as my loan officer, I knew I was in the right hands. His no-BS strategy and conservative way of thinking making the entire process easy. There were obvious struggles - getting hundreds of documents to David in a timely manner, communicating specific intentions, being transparent with timeline goals, etc.. - but David without hesitation or angst kept me on track and moving towards the ultimate goal of buying the property I wanted. I would recommend David to anyone important to me. He is a refreshingly down-to-earth, ethical, and matter-of-fact businessman in a market infested by the opposite. I can't thank him enough for his help. Thanks David! Cheers! read more
