Happy feet
Rose T.

If you're considering any type of foot surgery, you'll be in the best hands with Dr. David Wong! I was recommended to him by two different sources- one of who is also in the the medical profession. Before meeting Dr. Wong, I was apprehensive about bunion surgery due to the risks, pain and complications that came with it. Upon our first consultation, he'd assured me that I'd be in good hands. He went over two different types of bunion removal procedures and helped guide me to the one that would suit me best. It's been less than a week since my left foot bunion removal and I'm already off crutches! I was scared out of my mind but now looking forward to finishing my right foot. The result so far has been incredible. Dr. Wong sets the standard high for all surgical doctors for being thorough, patient, kind and competent. Due to his genuine interest in making my needs and worries a priority, this entire experience has been the most comforting I've had and I can't wait to get my other foot done. I highly recommend Dr. Wong as your trusted foot doctor!

I had been living with increasing pain from a herniated disc that at one point was so bad I thought I'd never work again, let alone watch a movie in a theatre or sit in a plane long enough to take a real vacation. I was on disability from work a couple of times, and had gotten to the point where I thought I was just one of those people destined to take opiates and watch daytime TV for the rest of my life with bad gray roots coming in. At the time, the ADR surgery was pretty new, so we considered a fusion briefly, but I was concerned about loss of mobility. I am so glad I selected this surgery and this surgeon! Dr. Stieber is exceedingly competent but he's also NICE and he cares about his patients as people. For my surgery (performed at NYU), he brought in a fabulous anesthesia specialist who seriously listened to me regarding my tendency to become quiet nauseous with general anesthesia and doubled up on the anti-emetic as a result. I was back at work in just 10 DAYS after the surgery, an amazing feat in my opinion, as I am part of a Facebook group of people who had the same or similar issues and surgeries. I had one of the absolute best experiences of anyone in that group. In fact, my mobility after the surgery is better than it had been in years. I am just so impressed and grateful, and every time i bang my head at karaoke, I think how lucky I am to have had Dr. Stieber as my surgeon. THANK YOU! Also, his office team is great too!

I never heard back from anyone. I called today and was told he does not do these consultations anymore now that the covid restrictions have been lifted. Someone needs to change the website and stop the false advertising. I live in NJ and can bearly walk so a in person visit is out of the question. I am a senior and all alone so.....Who do you believe or trust these days....not sure our medical system is in a sad state of affairs.

I would have given it 4 stars…read more The Cons - The parking garage. Valet parking? If you can get the attention of the guys in the booth. It would be helpful if there was signage "This way out" and not a "Do Not Enter" sign at the level leading to the street. But, it is Free. Not like the hot mess parking at 210th Street Montefiore Hospital. You have to Sign-in at the reception desk, fine. But you don't have to sign out. In the event of an evacuation, do you look for those that signed in? Or just go about business as usual? The Pros- it's a well maintained building. The staff is polite and professional. The cafeteria is actually pretty good. The waiting areas are clean and comfortable. There is a TV in the patient waiting room that is at a normal volume; not blasting nor inaudible. The salt water aquarium there is a stress reliever. The patients are seen very close to their appointments. The restrooms are clean. In the main lobby there are seating areas there to wait for a ride or just relax a minute.

Frustrating Parking Experience at Montefiore 1250 Waters Place…read more Montefiore Hospital at 1250 Waters Place seriously needs to improve its parking system for patients. The hospital has two towers, but even though they are part of the same facility, the parking validation doesn't work across both. If you park in Tower 2 and your appointment is in Tower 1, you won't get your parking validated--even though it's the same hospital. To make matters worse, by the time you figure this out and try to move your car, you only have a 15-minute grace period. That's not nearly enough time, especially when navigating multiple floors using two different elevators just to get to an appointment on the 11th floor. There is no direct elevator that goes all the way up, which adds unnecessary delays and stress. In the end, you can end up being charged $19 just because you parked in the "wrong" tower. It's completely unreasonable and makes the entire experience frustrating for patients who are already dealing with medical appointments. Montefiore needs to seriously rethink this process and make it more patient-friendly.

I have never looked forward to physical therapy before, but this place is a delightful change…read more Everyone on the staff, from the front desk to the owner-manager Alex, is sincerely friendly and completely engaged. Other PT places I've succumbed to have been marked by tension in the air because the friendliness is superficial, the smiles glued on. Or the young PT staff gave me an exercise with a number of repetitions and then huddled in the corner to talk sports and their recent weekend frolics. Not so here: I feel an improvement and where I used to go home feeling depleted and pessimistic, I walk out of RSPT feeling stronger and hopeful. And aside from the congenial atmosphere, the exercises I've been asked (very sweetly) to do make sense. I don't see other patients given identical routines: the place is more like a cheerful gathering of neighbors (for a common purpose) than a factory. I can't recommend them highly enough! ==================================================== An update. Tomorrow is my last visit of 2025, because Medicare will only cover 28 visits in a twelve-month period. My enthusiasm for this practice and the people in it has only increased. The atmosphere is friendly without artifice, not the professional friendliness of people who would really rather you go away so they can continue chatting about last night's sports event. You might not notice it if you knew me six months ago, but I feel stronger and more mobile. This is not, I assure you, because I religiously do the exercises at home. (Long pause here.) But it is because the people I work with, especially Francy, Melissa, now and again Alex, Hannah, and Annabelle, have understood what exercises might help me and have guided me through them. The pleasantness begins at the front desk: Arlinda, Madeline, Michael -- all genuinely solicitous and humane. I think they understand that people come to PT with a certain amount of pain, impairment, and the accompanying embarrassment. Because of the gentle-spirited, light-hearted owner, Alex Sherman, the feeling of uncritical welcoming acceptance is felt all through the practice. I am sad to leave -- it feels like the last day of summer camp -- but I hope to be back in 2026.
