I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and wanted to weigh my options regarding doctors and…read moreputting a team together. I had heard that Dr. William Burak was good so I contacted his office...and it was the worst experience I have ever had in my 56 years of life! The office line rarely answered, I was on hold for over 48 minutes at one of my attempts, I was told they would get back to me to schedule an appointment too many time to count, and of course they never did. At this point I knew I made the right call by selecting another surgeon but I still wanted a second opinion and so I continued to play this ridiculous game of trying to simply schedule an appointment. I finally got in to see him and (no joke - sat in my room for over 40 minutes until anyone even came in to see me - it's really bad!!) I basically told him that I was interested in his thoughts on my pathology reports and he said they looked "fine" and that I have a small tumor and he believes I'm on the right path. So I asked him if he's looked at my reports and he says "yes"!So I told him, and his nurse and his nurse coordinator, they were all in the room, that I would like a report from his pathologist and he said it would be sent with in the week. I bet you're seeing where this is going...a week came and went and I continued to call to see where my reports were as my surgery (with another team of doctors Thank God!!) was coming up and I really needed this report! I was finally told that they didn't have my pathology report and in fact, had NEVER had it so he full on LIED to me that he had seen it!! I did some investigating and found out the MUSC had never sent them the pathology report so my other surgeon went ahead and got a second reading for me before my surgery. This is most definitely NOT a doctor I would trust with my life so beware and be careful! Do your homework and find the right doc for you, and be sure they're honest!.

Need an emergency appointment he's there , need a prescription refill ,he's there , need to ask a dumb question ( I have those sometimes ) he'll answer . He explains things to you in a manner that you can understand and he takes his Time when you don't feel rushed. If you have a child meet this your pediatrician and I promise you you won't be disappointed
