Moraine Lake Lodge - Our king room in the lodge

We had great manhattan cocktails to start, the gem salad with blue cheese and thin bacon chips, beef tenderloin and black cod with big pieces of mushroom and wild rice. All filling and nicely prepared, a great meal after a strenuous hike.

When we arrived at the gated Lake Moraine road, we were yelled at by the Parks Canada gate attendant which left us shaken, but Rosie turned our day completely around! We were welcomed warmly and given a tour of the lodge. We were also asked if we needed help with our luggage. We asked if they were allowing canoeing, and she hooked it up for us right then even though we were the first of the season. Our room was stunning and they left a really nice welcome gift for us, a chocolate bar and two Moraine Lake Lodge water bottles (metal, super nice!). We loved our little fireplace and we could not believe the view from our room. I took a bath and I really liked how they give you a little bath cube from L'Occitane. Their bath products smell great! When I got out of the tub my fiancé came in carrying a bottle of champagne! He said the front desk staff was super nice in helping him set up the surprise. We had a great time sipping champagne and sitting on our porch. For dinner we ate in the dining room, and the service was very slow... I made eye contact with our server a couple of times to signal we were finished but she still took a long time to come to our table. We were there for more than two hours. The food was good though, just be aware that dinner is an occasion. We walked by the lake after dinner and it was great because there was no one there. The next morning, we got up super early but not early enough to avoid the tour buses. I think they come in at 4 a.m. and descend on the rockpile. That's one thing about staying here that's not ideal. You're sharing the lake, the cafe, and the gift shop with lots of tourists throughout the day. We could not even grab anything from the cafe because the line of tourists at 8 a.m. was so long. The complimentary breakfast was my favorite meal here but you do need a reservation. We asked the receptionist if we could get sandwiches to go ordered even though we missed the deadline, but she said no. It was a bummer- so definitely book reservations and ask for sandwiches in advance if you're not going to be there between 12:30-2 p.m. Our breakfast service was much better! They give you a pastry and fruit cups. It was the BEST PASTRY EVER. It was maple and we loved it; the server was kind enough to bring us another helping without us even asking. We both got a breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage and homestyle fries. Overall, we both had a great time but we definitely enjoyed the privacy of our balcony the most. If we had more days here we would have opted to sign up the guided hikes. There's not many other things to do here besides hike, read and relax with no pool, spa or fitness center but I do think when you consider having access to lake moraine, a complimentary breakfast and canoe ride, the price feels not as bad.

An excellent blend of calming, long strokes, and firm pressure. Her technique was very interconnected and flowed over my skin. I'd highly recommend it! I booked a 90 minute Sports Therapy massage with Caitlin while waiting for a friend that was hiking at Lake Louise. You don't need to be a hotel guest to book the spa.

There were several nice amenities, such as a fresh whole fruit basket in our room upon arrival, tea in the lobby in afternoons (however, we didn't partake), nice breakfast treat left in our room each night, coffee in the room and in the hallway if you preferred fresh coffee and creamer. Our room was a nice size with 2 double beds and 2 comfortable chairs and small table. The location was wonderful as we rented a car & drove all around the area. What a gorgeous area! OMG! I have never seen so much beauty within a short drive. I took so many photos. It snowed the 2nd night we were there and made the mountains extra beautiful. The service at the hotel was great - doorman, registration desk & a staff member even helped us scrape ice off our windshield in the morning when it was 14 degrees (F) out. We're from California, US, so didn't know how to do it! LOL! I have recommended the Post Hotel to several friends and we're considering returning in the Spring. Loved it here!

I haven't changed my review for the Fairmont. But I am writing this update as a warning to anyone…read morewho purchases flavorite latés from here. When I came in the Summer of 2025, I noticed they use the 1883 Lavender syrup from France. Sounds fancy right? But it actually doesn't use any actual lavender syrup; the flavor is all artificial. It also contains Red 40 which has already been known to be a mutagen for 20+ years BEFORE, before RFK. My syrup had developed a microbial (bacterial most likely) biofilm and growths within the syrup. My syrup still has 6 months before the expiration date. If the syrup is being used quickly, then maybe it isn't a problem, but I don't think lavender is a super popular flavor. So if you're at the Fairmont, check the bottles of syrup flavorings before you order, especially if it is the 1883 brand. Also, if you're staying at the Fairmont Hotel...why don't they just make lavender simple syrup in the kitchen? You mean to tell me this fancy hotel can't afford to make simple syrup? It tastes better too.

Apparently it's been snowing heavily and due to the heavy snowfall, the hotel could not put up the rink until it would stop snowing. Lots of people were hanging out on the lake. The hotel had ice sculptures and an ice bar. I saw a few horse drawn carriages as well. They had a well lit tunnel. Their lobby was decorated with Christmas trees and garlands. For the afternoon tea, I got the Egyptian chamomile tea. It had sweet elements to it and was considered a flavored tea. I did try it with sugar and milk. Although it didn't taste bad, I prefer to have my tea without anything. The tea itself was good enough for me. In addition to the tea, my meal came with a glass of prosecco. For the food, I got their basic menu which comes with 4 varieties of cake, 2 pastries, 3 sandwiches, a croissant and deviled egg. They offer different foods as well depending on your dietary needs. They have seafood, vegetarian, kids menu and I believe gluten free as well. Wait staff were very friendly and accommodating. My waiter was so kind and helpful. My view from my table was beautiful. I plan on coming back again.

The cabin (cabin 2) has a wood-burning fireplace, hot tub (use with doors and windows open for full effect), and an extremely comfortable medium-firmness california king bed (my wife prefers a soft mattress and I prefer firm, so medium is as happy as we can find). The views of the mountains in the morning and evenings are truly magical, especially after a day spent doing mountain activities in Glacier National Park. We ate 3 meals at the restaurant. 2 dinners and a breakfast. The service was exceptional, and I wish I lived closer to the food! I had the most inspired charcuterie plate that I've ever had, my wife was extremely impressed with the gluten free bread for her sandwiches, and do not pass on the creamy leeks with baked eggs and maple bacon! I wish this place was in Chicago. Oh, and if you are a beer snob like me, you have to try Mt. Begbie's Cream Ale if they have it.... All the staff are extremely accommodating and ready to help you find things to do between the best meals you'll have in Canada.

The lodge is simple, but has tastefully appointed rooms with most amenities. The view is stellar, and it was great sitting on the adirondack chairs, or hanging out in the hot tub when the sun goes down facing the beautiful mountains. The staff were EXTREMELY friendly and knowledgable about all the questions we had about the hikes, and activities in the surrounding area. Breakfast was included, and was all local or used food grown in the hotel's garden. My only gripe is, there are no fridges, and you either have to drive to Golden or Revelstoke to eat, otherwise it has to be the food at the hotel restaurant, which isn't cheap. They serve it buffet. Breakfast is $15, lunch $20 and dinner $23. we brought our own snacks, but ate at the hotel twice outside of bfast and then in Revelstoke for the other meals. This hotel is gorgeous in summer and has so many places nearby to hike, and horseback ride, as well as is a heli-skiing heaven. I'd definitely go back. Apparently they have wedding here all the time, we saw one taking place and it was absolutely stunning.

I have 2 cards that we didn't have the chance to activate due to an unfortunate injury my son acquired literally right after purchase which killed our ski season. FFWD 2 yrs later as I found them again I emailed LL and asked if I could pay the diff from what I paid them to what todays rate is, as they went up. Figured that was fair but apparently they are more than happy to just take my $300 and loose a customer for life. WOW I can only imagine how much more they will now loose from not only us and our additional money invested at the hill, plus I have a solid gang of Fam & Friends that we talk every year on where we plan to ski so they are all aware of this now and agree with me. Plus I hope this reaches a few others and can empathize and follow suit. Here's Jasmine's reply as proof. Don't you just love the sign off... "kind regards". This does not scream kind regards nor Merry Christmas. BOOO HUMBUG On Dec 27, 2025, at 8:13AM, GS Supervisor GS.Supervisor@skilouise.com wrote: Hi Jamie, Thank you for your email. Snow condition ok when we were there with temps in the mid 20s, a bit icy in the more shaded areas, better on the sunnier slopes. There are several unattended boot/bag storage areas and shelves. No view of Lake Louise from the mountain however although still scenic with great views of snow covered peaks. The lodges tend to get really crowded during peak lunch times. Only thing is getting there is 40 minutes drive from Banff and buses are usually packed and sometimes late so if trying to get there for the 10 am mountain tour (2 hours organized by skill level) could be tricky unless you leave much earlier. One day we got there at exactly 3 minutes past 10 and all the tours had left with no host in sight (generally there are no resort staff anywhere to be seen to help out unlike at US resorts). If staying closer to town center you'll get picked up later and more likely have to wait as the buses will be full by the time they get to your location. Ski/board storage in luggage compartment under the bus, some have limited shelves some just in a jammed pile. Might want to consider putting skis in a bag or get some protection for the bindings as people are not at all careful when loading and unloading. They still give out trail maps in the lodges. The outdoor ice bar is a fun place for a drink.
