Covington Dental Care - The left corner of my lip was burnt by the bleach too!

Dr. Voelkel was very thorough and gentle, on my first visit. He explained everything and…read morecontinually asked if I was feeling ok during my procedure. However, when I scheduled my teeth whiting, it was the receptionist (Amy) that did the application. She significantly bleached my gums and did not give me anything, including advice, on how to care for it. I DO NOT recommend this place. It seems it's just about getting money not dental care.

Let me begin by saying I understand that we all are human, that sometimes mistakes are made. That…read moresaid the way I was treated, the neglect that occurred and most importantly the way it was handled was appalling. After a root canal failed I went in to have the tooth removed. They tried to talk me into another root canal not only on that tooth but the adjacent one. I explained that I did not want one, nor could I afford to spend another 2k+ on the teeth. Finally after being given a bill for almost $1400 to remove the tooth and cap the adjacent tooth done at once I relented. I figured even though it was a lot of money that they have a lovely office and "cutting technology" that I was in good hands. The younger dentist who's name I can't recall was nice enough but seemed to be a bit hurried. The tooth wasn't coming easy but finally he pulled it. I asked about the tip and was assured everything was fine. It wasn't. Four days later with massive pain and a fever I returned. The main dentist looked and said I still had the roots in my gums as he could see from the X-ray. He also said much of the pain was from a perforated sinus. They booked me for the next day. The surgery was performed and the young doctor now seemed flippant and unapologetic about the situation. When I was released and talked to the office manager about the week I was out of work and issues she said "this is a common issue. What is your point?" When I asked if they could refund any of the 1400 she said "you paid us for a service and we gave it to you." I just want people to know what kind of people you will be dealing with. The prices are a lot more than other dentists in the area but they won't stand behind their work and have no concern for their patients after they leave. It's a sad world we live in and as far as I'm concerned this place is part of the problem.
