Outstanding experience with Dr. Du and his office staff. I had to have tooth #12 extracted and bone grafted. I had put it off for a little over a year and finally resigned to having it pulled and grafted for an implant. When I finally decided to have it pulled, I scheduled it out later in the year in order to get the most benefit from my insurance. I did have some out of pocket expense, and in the 8 or so months before the procedure, I had called Dr. Du's office to get some clarify on what monies would be due and when. The two or three times I talked to his staff, they were incredibly helpful and walked me through the process and timing with patience and clarity. A few days before the extraction, Dr Du's office called in scripts for relaxation during the procedure, pain post op and to stave off any infection. The scripts arrived a few days before my procedure so I would be ready to go on extraction day. I was completely blown away at how quick and easy Dr Du extracted the tooth, and I felt absolutely NOTHING during the procedure, and post op. I followed their directions and recommendations to keep the any swelling down and to keep from getting an infection and had zero issues. No pain or swelling whatsoever. I am now a little over a month post op and just waiting for the bone graft to do its thing to have the implant installed next year. I very highly recommend Dr. Du. He and his staff are top notch! I was so nervous to have this procedure done. I needed two implants and put it off way too long. The office staff and Dr. Du's assistant were great at explaining the step by step process, and everything went so smooth and quick! I had a gum graft completed by Dr.Du and let me tell you, it was an easy experience. The procedure was short and easy with 0 discomfort. My recovery has been painless. I looked up the procedure on tik tok after i had it done for which I am glad I waited. The online videos made this procedure sound PAINFUL and horrible. I'm 3 days post procedure and still 0 pain. I went to Dr. Du for a gum graft. I didn't know what to expect except that "gum graft" just sounds like a miserable experience. But it actually wasn't that bad! Dr. Du & his staff were great. They were very organized and professional. The procedure seemed quick, though I had taken 1 Valium pill 1 hour prior to the appointment, which probably helped ease anxiety and it turns out that I don't remember too much. I'm 3 weeks post-op and back to eating normal food. Still a bit tender where the graft was added, but pretty much all healed from where it was taken. read more

If I could give Dr. Du TEN stars I would. I got my first implant in Davis when I lived there and I just got my second one done with the spread of about two years between them. Even though I live in another state now I fly out to see Dr. Du.. Without question he's top notch. I have always had extreme anxiety in the chair. He is the perfect balance of coach and comfort. He made me at ease by coaching me there I don't even know if he realized he was doing it that's how natural it was...and you could tell he was comfortable performing the procedure because doode has mad skills. My first implant was flawless and never gave me any problems. After it was placed I never even had to take an Advil. I felt absolutely no pain. And there was no noticeable swelling. I would never go to anybody else no matter where I live. With all the horror stories out there about implants, you have to be SO careful. For reals. Go here. 10 out of 10 recommend. The office staff is wonderful and professional. The office is clean. The pricing is reasonable. They do everything they can to make sure that your dental work is done the way it should be. What an extremely disappointing experience. I Had received a quote for deep cleaning from the them with an out of pocket expense of over 500 after my insurance coverage. They had added a Sonicare Tooth Brush ($149) and a Waterpik Water flosser ($49) to the bill to which I was told it comes with the services, I explained that I do not want or need this but I had no Choice in accepting these items. After all was said and done they did not clean my wisdom teeth, because the doctor wanted to remove them (and did not consult me if I was going to remove those teeth or not). 2 months later I received a new bill for over $200 dollars, when they informed me that my insurance didn't cover the amount they had "estimated". Long story short, if you value your money and want to be able to trust the people working for you, Dont Go Here. read more

Dr. Du and his wonderful staff always give me extremely positive experience. 1st time deep cleaning, 2 hours, no pain. My puffy bleeding gum turns to light pink right away, no bleeding anymore, some follow ups and re-check after that. Mid July Dr. Du extracted all of my wisdom tooth (three). He only numb my wisdom teeth which will be extracted, we even talked to each other when the surgery was going on. It was a 2 hour appointment for extracting but he took less than an hour. I stopped bleeding within three hours after that. Minor pain on the second day (like level 1 or 2 out of 10) but that was it. I looked normal and had soup for couple days then I ate normal. All of the staff here was so nice and friendly. read more

Receptionist amanda is always rushing me off the phone. Just because it's a "energetic" tone, doesn't mean it's a good tone...I pay a good amount of money here and I shouldn't be rushed off the phone for questions that I need answered. I recently had gum therapy done by a dental hygienist in the office of Davis California dentist David Du. David Du was not involved in the procedure. The treatment took about half an hour. For this I have been billed over $16,000. This seems like a greedy rip off, especially since David Du was not involved in the procedure. I will never visit his office again. read more

I have horrible teeth because I grind my teeth when I sleep. I had three of my root canals fail, including a front tooth. As a graduate student at UC Davis I couldn't imagine having dentures or a bridge, especially for the front tooth. I wanted someone who was board certified and was pleased to learn that Dr. David Du is the only Board Certified Periodontist in the City of Davis. From the first consultation to the implant itself, Dr. Du walked me through every step. I hate pain, and the idea of having a hole drilled into my jaw freaked me out. But, aside from the weird sensation of the pressure of a drill, the surgery was painless. The after care was also seamless. Dr. Du personally called me the night of the surgery and had me send him pictures of the sutures throughout the week to make sure the gums were healing properly. A nice little touch is I got a free Jamba Juice gift card after my surgery. Trust me, the cold smoothie helped, but don't suck through a straw! After I moved back to LA, Dr. Du coordinated with my dentist to ensure there were no problems with putting on the crown. Between Dr. Du and his attentive staff, there were no guessing games about the surgery, after care, or insurance. I'm finally done with everything and I don't even notice I have implants. Dr. Du is competent, his office is clean and well-managed, and his friendly staff is so patient with insurance. I highly recommend Dr. Du and his team! read more

I am one of those people who are terrified of the dentist, and I've seen many periodontists throughout my life since I've had periodontal disease since I was in my 20's. It was always something I dreaded. My experience with Dr. Du is by far the best. He is kind and gentle and made me feel immediately comfortable. I will have Dr. Du do an implant for me, and this is something I've put off for a while now. His hygienist Lee is also incredible. She cleans my teeth gently but thoroughly and appreciates my fears. I have needed periodontal care for 4-5 years (a "mild to moderate" condition), so when I moved to Davis two years ago I needed to find a new periodontist. I first visited a practitioner in Sacramento, who provided high pressure, glib explanations, and high prices, recommending laser surgery. Later I found Dr. Du, in Davis, and his practice has proved just right for me. They are patient with my questions and clear in explanations; they have helped me upgrade my cleaning regime but they have not recommended surgery; they are always friendly and on schedule. read more
