My son recommended Kustom Trim because of his good experience with them. I saw that they have great reviews everywhere. Not all tree services have good reviews- so do your homework! I wanted the tree and stump gone, no roots left, and stump grindings removed. We also wanted new topsoil there, grass planted, and a smaller decorative tree in that spot. Guess what? Not all tree companies will do all of that. In fact, the company that has trimmed that tree for years wouldn't even haul away the stump grindings, telling me that they don't have the time for it! -I certainly couldn't manage to do that stuff at my age. Fortunately, Kustom Trim does it all, and their price was the best I found for a reliable company. Owner Travis Kernik was friendly and accommodating, and his workers were meticulous in caring for my yard and my neighbor's. They raked and vacuumed up every last twig, and not one extra gouge could be found in the lawn. My neighbor's nearby garage was untouched. All surface roots were removed. Then, after a few Spring rains settled the ground, they returned to add new soil, planted the new tree and new grass. Every last employee was helpful and careful. Only when everything was completed and perfect did I get a bill in the mail. I was really worried that this project would be ridiculously expensive and would require work that I'm physically unable to do right now. Turns out that all I had to do was make a phone call, then write a check after the job was done flawlessly. And the price was very reasonable. I thought service like this was a dead art... wrong! On June 9, I contacted Mueller Tree and spoke with Tom McCartney, the Sales & Operations Manager. I requested an estimate because a dead tree needed to be removed before June 17, as it threatened my neighbor's yard. Tom visited my home while I was away and messaged me the price along with photos and a detailed job description. I messaged him back and agreed to the price. Tom said he would send a crew on Saturday, June 13, around 12:00 p.m., to cut down the tree, and he would come on Sunday, June 14, to grind the stump. My husband saw the Mueller truck drive by before noon on Saturday. They stopped for a few minutes and then drove off. I called Tom around 1:00 p.m. to ask when the workers would arrive. Tom said the workers went by and told him the price he had given me was too low. He also asked for the name of the other company and the price they gave me. I declined to answer, telling Tom I agreed to his price and that I had already informed the other tree service that I accepted Mueller Tree to remove the dead tree. Tom then told me that the crew had no more room in their truck for the tree parts on Saturday and might be able to come on Monday or Tuesday, but the price may be double what he originally quoted me. I said I had a detailed, written price from him and agreed, so I believe the contract was binding. Tom said he would call me again later that day, but he never did. I recently saw signs for Mueller Tree in my neighborhood and decided to call them. Tom McCartney mentioned they had worked in the Hudson area and my neighborhood for many years, so I felt confident I would get the right information. I agreed on his price. I have all of Tom's texts, as well as the contract he sent. His actions, as well as those of Mueller Tree, are unprofessional; their pricing is deceptive. As a consumer, I find this unacceptable.

Not a salesman, I did not have to reiterate with the guys what was originally quoted. And that's a biggie! They went over the branches and rooting and corrected items I did not even consider.
