Such a great guide driver and guy!

Some of the passes were closed with heavy snow this last winter and the crews are late to clear it. But Jason was awesome and took us places our vehicle could never have made it. I highly recommend this as a great way to explore the Telluride area!

Dave's Mountain Tours jeep on Imogene Pass, Colorado, above Telluride.

Definitely book a Jeep trip with Dave's Mountain Tours when you're in Telluride. We took the 4-hour trip to Imogene Pass with Jason as our driver, historian, and guide. His years of experience as a raft guide, snowmobile guide, and now Jeep guide and business owner/operator are evident as he capably navigates the trail while describing interesting sights and facts along the way. His humor will put you at ease, and his tales of things he's seen over the years will make you feel like friends. There are stops along the way at Tomboy Mine, and two stops at Imogene Pass to stretch your legs and take photos of the San Juan Mountains and your group photos. Great for viewing aspens in the fall, too, along the first part of the trail out of Telluride. .

We had the four hour tour up Imogene pass that was absolutely amazing. Curtis was our guide and he brought along his dog Crosby. Curtis was incredibly friendly, personable, and informative. He was pointed out unique animals, flowers and other fun facts about the trail. Saw other tours going by packed with folks in a covered Jeep. We were the only four in an open roof car, which was super nice. Would be happy to return and would recommend to friends.

Curtis was our guide and he was amazing! Super friendly and funny. He did a great job navigating the mountains and pointing out the different things on the mountain. You'll also get to hang with his awesome doggo Crosby! Would highly recommend over any other jeep tours. (We passed by other jeep tours and they really packed people into the cars. We had the whole car to ourselves!) Their website was not the prettiest but don't let that discourage you from booking with them! They truly care about your experience. If you come to telluride this tour is a must! It was the highlight of the trip.

Grant took us on a really fun tour. He was knowledgable, affable and a fine driver. Two thumbs up!

Grant was fun and fantastic! Very informative and he made you want to listen to what he had to say! You could tell Grant enjoyed what he was doing and wanted to make you laugh and enjoy your trip. other driver was there before Grant arrived and he also seemed fun! Bridal Veil Falls was even more beautiful then we imagined! Great trip, we would go again! Thanks Grant or Dave whichever you want to go by today!

Great way to see the incredible views without the effort of hiking. We did the Smuggler's pass. We really enjoyed it.

I haven't read anyone else's reviews here so as not to color THIS review. We took a sunset drive up to the power plant, with excellent views of Bridal Vail Falls. We were not able to take our dog, but that's ok because someone didn't have to keep an eye on him and thus not miss any of the spectacular beauty. We got lucky and had no one else join our group, so we could sit wherever, whenever, without encroaching on anyone's personal space as we flopped around on the trail. And everyone should understand these are not easy rides up and back, lots of being tossed to and fro. The trails are rugged in many places. Folks with back and neck issues should avoid these excursions. Maybe there are smoother vehicles making this trip- Jeeps, pickups, etc... I can't say as I haven't done any of them. But that was not an option. I like and want the experience of the guided tour in the Pinzgauer. Guided Jeep trips from Telluride are not available, although one can rent a Jeep any day and the driver gets to miss everything except the 10' of trail in front of him. And a pickup truck? That's not my style. We ended up with the smallest Pinzgauer, named Liesl after one of the proprietors daughters. She cheerfully answered all our questions and took our reservation on the phone. While the trip was shorter than Tomboy, there is still plenty of rough patches. However I felt this smaller 4 wheel Pinz rode better than the larger 6 wheel we were in last year with another vendor. There are so many variables though, 4 vs 6 wheel, shorter wheelbase, my seating position, less weight with four souls on board vs 5 and a dog last year. Different trail. Shorter trip. All that makes comparison difficult. I mention all this because I would hate for anyone who had physical issues to hurt themselves, and some folks simply don't have the disposition for a trip like this. They might be happier shopping or basking in the sun with a book and a coffee while those who seek adventure go for it. Our tour guide Emma was a great driver, a fun personality and shared some interesting stories of the area I had not heard before. I would not hesitate to go with her again. I believe she has been living in the area 7 years, so she knows things. Overall I can find no fault with this trip, and I'm left with lots of fun memories.

    Our crew

Cheeseball was the best guide ever! Pro ice climber/shark hunter and part-time chef from MI, according to his LinkedIn. "The Old Man Gramps" 6x6 vehicle was a beast. All the jeeps on the trail moved aside when they recognized the Alpha was on the trail. We had 4 adults, 2 teens, a 4 year and a 4 month old on trip and they all had a blast! The baby slept the whole way up and the whole way down, so don't hesitate and book your trip!

I highly suggest Dave's Mountain Tours! Jason was awesome!

I highly suggest Dave's Mountain Tours! Jason was awesome! I booked a 2 hr tour for my son and I and it was well worth it! A great experience and we felt very confident with our guide, Jason. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely an excellent experience to remember. If anyone is afraid of heights, may not be the best tourist option. Definitely will book another tour with Dave's the next time we're in Telluride!

Awesome tours! Did a half day with Josie to top of Imogene. Josie was incredible with his knowledge and history from the area in regards to geology and mining! Loved every minute of the ride and stops!

Great trip up Ophir pass and Ames Waterfalls with Dave's Mountain Tours!

My wife had heard that Mild to Wild rafting took great care of their clients. Last year at this time, we were wading up the San Miguel river / stream and fly fishing. Shallow water, tranquil pools and great fishing made it a different weekend. When we booked this, I thought it must be a mistake as this stream did not seem strong enough for rafting and narrow in width. What a difference a year makes. The river was full, fierce with heavy water and good class 3 rapids for the next 1 1/2 hour. Big rocks, fast water, big snags and quick currents were the norm today. One had better stay in the boat, as it would troublesome swimming in 42 degree water. Alyssia, our guide was fabulous and serious about following her instructions. She navigated the rocks, snags and fast water. She maneuvered our boat well. For the next 1 1/2 hours, we had 3-4 foot swells and worked the entire trip. We have rafted many rivers and this was one of our shorter trips but a 5/5 on adventure. For a great adventure, beautiful scenery and a gorgeous day, raft with Mild to Wild. You will have a fun filled and adventurous memory for life.

The drive up during a storm was also an adventure we were nervous about not making our time slot with the roads being bad. We were able to make it during our slot time and luckily still had time to get ready. I will note to leave a lot earlier during a storm. Once we arrived our guide made sure to provide us instructions and made sure we all had proper gear for riding. They also offered us some hot drinks before, half time and after our ride back at the trail head base camp. During breaks my boyfriend and I were able to take turns driving and enjoy the views. The back seat was very comfortable. Our guide took us on some loops in the area and we came back to camp to warm up and use the restroom during breaks. My boyfriend did go off the track by accident and our guide with a few other men helped get it out easily. We had a lot of fun with our guide who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. We did run into a few other groups on the trails which caused some bottlenecking. Our guide was able to coordinate to go around or let the other groups pass by us. I highly recommend going with ice pirates and also wish they had more merchandise to buy to remember our trip.

We hiked the Hikers' Haute Route from Chamonix to Zermatt, and we hiked solo rather than with a group. RW booked our hotels, hostels and huts, arranged for luggage transfers, and gave advice whenever I asked for it. They were persistent in finding us rooms in their favorite places, even being waitlisted at one hotel that opened up in time for our trip. Everything worked out perfectly. More importantly, they found charming places to stay that offered dinner and breakfast, and mapped out our route in 8 days, giving recommendations about how to abbreviate the entire hike, which usually lasts 11-12 days rather than our 8 day hike. I am certain that we could not have had such a great trip without Ryder Walker.
