Big pluses: location, they're on US50's outer road between both Mo 291's; parking is ample and well lit; waiting area is very comfortable; everyone I delt with was competent and courteous; But most importantly, they finished on time, I couldn't find an issue in any of the paint work, panel alignment, or even any footprints or dust inside the car. It had been thoroughly washed and dried. I can easily see why Gieco recommended them an I do too.

What a disappointment…read more On December 19, 2022 I went to McCarthy Collision, in Olathe KS, for an estimate on my 2019 Nissan Rouge. At that time I set up an appointment for January 26, 2023 to have my car repaired (minor incident involving the rear bumper, right side); no other damage to any other body parts. I was also told it would take 4 business days to repair (replace) the rear bumper; I also paid $832.45 for parts (did not use my insurance since it would be less than $2,000). Please remember all this was done on December 19, 2022. On January 25, 2023 I dropped off, to McCarthy Collision in Olathe KS, my Rogue. On January 31, 2023 (the day I was told it would take 4 days to repair my car) I called, since I had a doctors appointment on February 1st, and was informed that McCarthy Collision did not have all the parts. The major question I have .."why wasn't I told by someone, anyone when I dropped my car off on January 25th and gave the keys to the receptionist that all the parts weren't in?" Please remember i paid for the parts on December 19th. I had to spent extra monies to rent a car to get my doctors appointment (canceling was not an option since it takes months to reschedule a doctors appointment). This is piss poor customer service. Before anyone says anything, I don't believe Covid-19 had anything to do with McCarthy not getting all of the parts in. People are to eager to blame everything on Covid. Ok, let's say not getting the parts were Covid related. That should have not stopped them (McCarthy) from calling me on the phone, or even emailing me that they did not have all the parts and not to bring the car in until they were ready to repair the car. My car was finally done on February 7, 2023. Needless to say, if I am in need of any bodywork on any vehicles I own I will not be taking them to any McCarthy Collision centers in the metro area.

Automan/Autoplaza called AFTER they had performed the tire rotation and questioned my logic in performing this service multiple times. Then, he said that the tires were worn out and he just couldn't figure out why, but maybe it was out of alignment. The tires had 42,100 miles on them, and they are rated at 45,000 miles - original equipment on the 2016 vehicle. Rotation at 5,000 miles is standard and recommended by Nissan. So, a repair shop worthy of my continued business would have stopped the rotation when taking the first tire off the car, prepared a quick quote of 2-3 tire options and called me to say that they thought it needed tires and perhaps I would consider that rather than the rotation. Not this guy. Charged $45 for a tire rotation he couldn't rationalize. Was bewildered how my tires may be worn out. Suggested there was something wrong with the car, but offered no evidence to that end. Didn't bother to spec out replacement tires for me (even after I asked him to do so and gave 45 minutes before I came to pick up the car.) Services were pricey - my car takes synthetic oil, but they charged over $27 more for this service than my previous mechanic. The dealer where my wife gets her car serviced does a synthetic change including tire rotation, multipoint inspection, and fluid top-off for about the same price I was charged just for the LOF at Automan/Autoplaza. The scratches on my door will buff out, I'm pretty sure. And, I did contact through the "contact us" option on their website and have received no response.

I first came to John on the recommendation of a gearhead friend who liked to do his own work, but trusted only John when he couldn't do it himself. I brought in my 1998 Honda Civic for some initial small work and he did a wonderful job. When I needed to replace my tires and didn't have money to tow it to a tire shop, John lent me his farm truck to pick up tires at Costco and bring them back to his shop for him to install him. When my engine block cracked, John sent me to a friend of his who saved me at least $3,000 from what the dealership wanted to charge. Most recently, I brought my 2008 Honda Civic in after the engine started overheating suddenly. He sadly discovered my engine block had corroded. Knowing my car was not that old, he was suspicious and so he personally scoured the internet and found an alert on a tech blog that leaking coolant was a known problem. As a result my car was towed to Honda and my engine replaced for free. He saved me from having to buy a new car. I can't sing his praises enough.
