Dave came to the house, took away a defective and old dryer and installed the new one! His manner was wonderful and his work impeccable!

Great work. Fixed our dishwasher quickly, and didn't balk when I provided my own parts. He's a chill dude. read more

I selected Dave's Appliances because of their reviews on yelp. Unfortunately I was disappointed in their office communication. Setting up and scheduling the estimate was easy. Availability was same or next day. Their service call of $130 was slightly lower than other companies quoted. The rental property dishwasher was not draining, and we were able to prioritize getting the appointment asap. The arrangement discussed when scheduling was the tenant would be present, and to provide the estimate to and call the owner for authorization of any work that might be needed for the repair. A credit card was given in advance for the payment. They texted me and the tenant to confirm the service window for the estimate. So far so good. On the day of the appointment unfortunately there was no phone call made regarding the estimate. Instead it was texted without further discussion and unclear if the work was completed for additional parts and labor quoted at $436! After multiple phone calls and text messages, the front office clarified that the work had not been completed, only the estimate provided. The service technician had already left the property which was fortunate because the estimate of parts and labor for the repair exceeded the cost of a new replacement dishwasher. I wish the communication by the technician and office would have been clearer, saving some unnecessary concern and back and forth communication about the work needed for the repair. It was unclear if the work was performed without authorization. If the work were authorized, the technician had already left the job site after providing the estimate and would need to be rescheduled to return for the repair on another day. Apparently they didn't have parts on hand to replace the drain pump and hose which seems strange for what is, I imagine, a common problem. I likely won't use this company again should appliance repairs be needed in Davis due to the unclear communications. read more

Prompt, professional and honest service. I've used Dave's Appliance Service twice for separate appliances and highly recommend them. The price charged was very fair with honest feedback on the life left in my dryer, and a recommended replacement in the future - plus Dave is a nice guy! I'll continue to call them in the future. read more

Our dishwasher wasn't cleaning the dishes so we called Dave's Appliance and were able to make a same-day appointment. He ran tests on the machine and gave some options. We appreciated his expertise and honesty. In the end, we decided it would be better to get a new machine - too much was going wrong with our machine with the motor and logic board. But would recommend Dave's Appliance in future. read more

Service was very prompt. Dave is very knowledgeable, and diagnosed the problem easily.

From the phone call to the appliance service, I was thoroughly satisfied. Same day service, thorough diagnostics, help deciding whether to repair or replace my dishwasher. Considerate, caring, comprehensive. I will call Dave's Appliance Repair for all future appliance service needs! read more

Excellent service. Reasonable rate. Will use this service again. Highly recommend Dave's Appliance repair in Davis.

Dryer wasn't drying clothes thoroughly, at any temperature. I called Dave's and got an appointment the next day. He gave me a heads-up when he was on the way and came on time. After running tests, he confirmed that the heating was inconsistent, from nothing at all to full heat, but never stayed there. He determined that the problem was either the breaker, the busbar, or the outlet. When these are problems, there is a control issue as well. Dave looked up the control part we needed and saw that it was discontinued, and the alternate was out of stock indefinitely. After talking about the problem, I said "I think we should get a new dryer," and he said, "That's what I'd do." He then recommended a dryer that he himself uses, looked it up and gave me the name and model number. He did all this in a little over an hour. Dave went above and beyond in the service he gave me. He's very experienced and knowledgeable, and friendly, and his prices are reasonable. When the next appliance needs attention, I will call Dave. read more

Dave came by to help us with an issue with our bottom freezer. He was incredibly kind, helpful, and reasonably priced. He taught me about how best to clean and care for my appliance, and I appreciate that he took the time to do that. We talked about the possibility of the issue not resolving itself right away and had a plan for next steps that I was comfortable with. When I needed help again a few weeks later, he came right away as a follow-up call. My appliance is now working well and I'm thrilled to have met Dave and have a go-to person in town for our appliances. read more

Great service, from the initial phone call to the service visit by Dave himself. I had Dave come to repair my refrigerator ice maker. He knew what to look for and thoroughly looked for the cause of the issue. Though he was unable to repair it he showed me exactly what the issue was and explained why it wasn't able to be repaired. For any future appliance repairs I'll be using Dave! read more

Great honest company works late which is helpful for the working family . Wont work on you appliance unless he knows it will fix it.

Dave gave me an honest opinion of the status of my refrigerator. I really expect the honesty that it is time to buy a new appliance rather than try to fix an appliance that it is on its last legs. Thank you, Dave. read more

Summary: If you want a responsive appliance repair service that is experienced, professional and free from any " over selling" BS all at a very fair price then Dave's Appliance is your best choice. One of my tenants reported an issue with her washing machine. Dave was there the next day. He quickly diagnosed the issues and the associated costs to either repair or replace the washer. I was very grateful for their quick response to my first call and for how they kept me posted on the outcome of their service call. read more

I would never use anyone other than Dave. My Samsung refrigerator had yet another problem--this time with the left door not closing properly. A plastic piece had broken. Dave was able to do a quick fix with a spring which we hope will last up to a year. He said I could replace the entire moveable part along the vertical side of the door, but it would be $300 and my refrigerator is 11 years old. Since he found that the insulation was breaking down as shown by water under the drawers and freezing in the back, he told me not to spend the money. Well worth the cost of the visit. read more

Being short of cash, I described The ills of My refrigerator to the lady. She agreed that it was not worth fixing and not worth a service call, saving me money and disappointment, when she could have scheduled it and charged me. read more

Our LG Thinq dryer would squeak every once in a while. We wanted to make sure it wasn't a belt issue. I called over the weekend and Dave showed up within the appointment window. He was quick and efficient - very professional with doing diagnostics and checking the moving parts of the dryer on the cool and heat settings. The dryer didn't squeak at all. Dave said no parts were needed and no real maintenance needed to be done. He said to call him if it acted up again (be sure it was for a consecutive number of days) and he'd come right quick to check it out. Such a kind and good man - no up charge and no hard sell. read more

Dave and his wife are a fantastic team. Communication was great. Had an issue with my oven and while changing water filter on my fridge something broke in the mechanism. He was able to come by the next day. He fixed the stove but had to order some parts for the fridge. He came as soon as they came in a fixed my fridge. Believe the five star reviews!!!! read more

Dave is great and will give it to you straight. I have used him multiple times and highly recommend.

Honest about the work needed and whether a fix or replacement is a better option. I'd go back to Dave every time because is this!

Excellent service by Dave, he was able to come by the day after I called and came early. Super nice, friendly and courteous. Very knowledgeable on my lg refrigerator and let me know what may have happened and what to look out for in the future. Very fair pricing and thorough job. Will use again for appliance repairs and highly recommend. read more

Had my range fixed today, and Kyle was great here. Replaced a small part and it's good . Came on time, left and came back an hour later and put in part. Cleaned up after too. Excellent place to call to fix stuff instead of buying new appliances made cheaper these days. TY read more

If I could give Dave 10 stars I would! He came and fixed my broken freezer by patiently melting the huge block of ice that was caused by a blocked drain hole. He only charged me the basic rate, not for the hour or more of labor he did. My freezer works like new! Thank you Dave!! read more

My dryer was making a thumping sound. Dave came out to fix it quickly!! He does great work.

Where do I start!!! Very flexible when I had to change my appt the day before. Respectful of my house as he wore booties over his shoes (just got new carpets). Great conversationalist and made me comfortable from start to finish. (Hubby was at work). Found the problem immediately and had the part in his van to fix on the spot! I am a mom who was without a washer all week so you better believe I did a bunch of loads when he left!! Thankful for his help! Also reasonably priced for the fix! I saved Dave's info and WILL recommend him! Thanks again read more

Dave came out the next day we called to fix our broken 2 year old LG washer. He arrived late and didn't exactly diagnose the problem but instead offered to replace 2 parts because he wasn't sure which was the problem. He would have to order both parts and the bill would be over $500 to ensure the problem was fixed. I did t feel good about it so I thanked him and was charged $130 for the consultation with nothing fixed. Next day another company came out, tested and verified that the door latch was the problem and scheduled to fix it next day once they got the part and the cost of the consult would go towards the labor. Fair right? My washer is fixed now, for less than $300. read more

Very nice, polite, always returns calls at a reasonable time, gets the job done, offers answers to your problem, doesn't sell you what you don't need, comes prepared. Dave's is now our appliance guy. read more

Amazing! Dave got more done on my fridge in 3 hours than his competition did in 3 weeks. It took me 3 weeks to book an appointment with another company - let's call them "flake" (not their real name). When it turned out I needed to reschedule, they were....less then helpful.... and it would have taken another 3 weeks. Meanwhile, my fridge was freezing my food. I found Dave, spoke to someone in seconds and he came out THE SAME DAY. In 3 hours, found the problem, found the parts, ordered them and it was cheaper than the initial visit would have been with "flake". Friendly guy, knows his stuff, honest, reliable, competent and most importantly, caring about his customers. HIRE DAVE!!! read more

I plan on calling Dave's Appliance for all our appliance repairs and I understand perfectly why he gets a 5 star rating. He was a tad late arriving, but he called the minute he knew he wasn't going to get to our house at the expected time, for which I was not only grateful, but relieved. Dave is a real people person, but not in a chat-your-ear-off way. He was organized and efficient. He was happy to show me why the washer's error code came up and what I can do next time by myself. Everyone should be as great as Dave. read more

The refrigerator portion of our frig. quit working yesterday in 100+ degree heat- inside door temp showed 68 degrees. Freezer portion was staying cold as it should. Called store where we bought the frig but they no longer do service & gave me several recommendations. I called Dave's Appliance - the lady who answered told that service person couldn't come out until today. Dave just left our home a little while ago. He was very personable, knowledgeable & best of all knew immediately what was wrong with our frig., had the needed part & fixed it. at a very reasonable price. Our frig is now running well. Would highly recommend Dave' Appliance to anyone needing repairs!!!!! read more

I requested service on my refrigerator via Dave's website on Sunday, and received confirmation and a timeslot the next day (Monday). Dave called Monday morning to ask if he could come over early (of course!). Dave explained everything he was doing and finding out about my refrigerator, which turned out to have two problems: a failing condenser and faulty insulation in the rear wall (apparently a common problem with Samsung refrigerators). Unfortunately, my refrigerator is out of warranty, so I have bought a new one - which I did with confidence that my current fridge cannot be fixed. I highly recommend Dave. read more

Dave is the best! He saved my old washer and I am so happy! He knows his stuff,my friendly and polite. I can't say enough good things about him! Thank you, Dave! read more

This is how it's supposed to happen. Something in your home breaks down you do your research on yelp and you make a phone call. Two days later Dave shows up inspects my dishwasher tells me it needs a part- explains everything to me in a way I can understand it and orders the part and tells me he'll be back in touch. A few days later I get a phone call he's ready to install the new part ! He comes today right on time always on time and quietly gets to work. A little while later he stands up says it's finished AND he's got my kitchen looking like he was never here everything wiped up! He tells me what it cost and I could not be a happier customer! Very honest reliable and his wife takes care of his appointments too. She is very good about leaving messages. If you need something repaired call Dave's appliance first!! read more
