This review is long overdue - we used Philip and his crew back in the summer of 2012 for our 3 br 2…read moreba apartment in Harlem. There was a spiral staircase area in the living room with really high walls that were being painted a brick red - the team was so neat there was zero splatter on the floors, stairs, white railings. The walls of all the bedrooms were also painted super neatly - with extreme attention to detail unlike other paint jobs I've experienced before and since then. If you're lucky enough to be able to have his team fit you in, go for it - you won't be disappointed!

Two bedrooms, oversized living room, entryway, long long hallway and a bathroom. He's a perfectionist and his crew does beautiful work that pays attention to the details. He shows his value by insisting that all sketchy surface areas be skim-coated before being painted, and that at least two coats be applied to all surfaces. The trim on our several pairs of French doors is perfect. Cleanup is complete, and his crew works hard to minimize disruption. When his painters have completed their tasks, he inspects all their work to ensure it meets his high standards and he has on more than one occasion pulled out a brush at the last minute to fix some tiny flaw he detected. He is also very creative and open to new ideas and paint types and techniques. His prices, while quite reasonable, are higher than your average paint crew but you get what you pay for. For both jobs, I ended up paying him extra based on the services he provided in excess of what was minimally required.

The job included painting architectural ceiling mouldings, baseboards and all the doors and trim. Their work is excellent and precise, particularly cutting between the mouldings and the walls - they gifted in this area. Without asking, they painted some walls with four coats, dictated by the lighting, quality of the coverage. They were perfectionistic which I appreciated. Our Interior Designer who is very picky was highly impressed and said they did an outstanding job. Also, each day they cleaned up, vacuumed (yes, vacuumed) and put all the furniture back in place. It reminded me of the Harry Potter movie when Harry took his wand and magically put back together the rampaged room. Also, Pollmann Suran bought all the paint and arrived on time everyday at 9:00 AM. They left on time each afternoon (4:30 PM) so I could move-on with my evening plans. They even helped me re-hang my pictures. Apparently they do a lot of art gallery work and have an eye for hanging pictures. Nice! In addition to the painting and professional skills, they are super nice guys who are artists, really. All three have Master of Fine arts and they love to paint. Call these guys, you will be equally impressed.
