Every interaction with them has been completely professional. What really got our eye was they are down to earth. We got to express how we really feel and so did they. Both of us having an unfiltered mouth, we knew these are the guys we want representing me. What they charge is reasonable no hidden fees. Thank you both for your work with my cases. Although we enjoyed working with you two let's hope we don't ever have to again!!

Fast forward a few months, as I was getting ready to go to work, I get a text message from the court about an hour before the court hearing with a video conferencing link stating that I needed to be present at 10 AM. I had no prior notice or communication from the lawyer. I called the law firm, and the receptionist told me, "the person who can answer your questions about the case won't be in for another hour, so you better attend." I had to ChatGPT some response/plan as I had no idea what to say or do. About 10 minutes right before my court case, that lawyer finally called me and was asking me about the details of my case as if he had just learned about it. He told me that there was a "glitch" and that I should have been informed about the court case with more reminders 2 weeks ahead of the date. He called the prosecutor to cut a "deal" about 5 minutes before the case, which was the worst deal I've ever had with a traffic lawyer that left me paying near the original fine fee and 6 months probation. By far the worst experience with a law firm. When I hired Melton Law, they were initially able to have my court case delayed. I recently had a very troubling experience with this firm involving my case…read more My mother called the office and paid what she was told was a retainer for attorney Spencer Salcido before anyone from the firm had ever spoken to me. That same day, my mother texted the firm and clearly stated that I had not agreed to hire them, that any funds were to be held in trust pending my decision, and that I did not consider myself to have counsel yet. Despite that, the next morning Mr. Salcido/his firm filed an Appearance of Counsel and additional motions in my case. I had never spoken to him, never signed an appearance or retainer agreement (nor had my mother signed the retainer agreement), and I had consistently stated that I did not want several of the things that were requested in those motions. I only learned about all of this by logging into the court system and seeing filings made under my name. When I confronted the firm, Mr. Salcido agreed to withdraw after I made it clear I had never consented to representation. A staff member also told me, "we probably weren't going to be taking on your case anyway," which was especially frustrating given that they had already taken my mother's payment and filed documents with the court as if they represented me. This experience was extremely upsetting, especially because my case centers on issues of consent and police conduct, and I am a trauma survivor with Complex PTSD. Having an attorney I'd never met appear in my case and make strategic decisions (including things I had explicitly stated I did not want) without my knowledge or consent has seriously damaged my trust. I am sharing this so that other potential clients, especially those in vulnerable positions, are aware of how my intake and case were handled here and can make informed decisions about whether this is the right firm for them.

I would like to think my experience with law firms was not the norm. I found Salcido and in…read moreparticular my attorney in Sandy to be completely unhelpful, unwilling to respond to emails and apparently not willing to take any interest in my case beyond what was minimally acceptable. A very negative experience all around.

I've called for a couple weeks no with no return call from her, and sent emails to a lawyer in her office who helps her: NO RESPONSE. It's been 40 days since our petition was filed per her law office and the state of Utah requires 21 days for the served party to respond. Why haven't we heard anything from her ?? Anytime we call this older woman answers "Law Offices" with a baby in the background crying or other noises. And it's always an excuse why she doesn't call back... or can't answer the phone. We are extremely disappointed that Veronica eluded to her willingness and vowed dedication to help my husband see his daughter (as are his rights). But this is just poor business dealings. Strange how those who have cases that won't pay more than a few hours of work never hear from her but those who go to court or are big cases are giving her rave reviews. Not impressed. Don't take cases you can't give 100% to, Veronica. It's not a difficult concept. $2,000 retainer means you work for me. Not on your time. Do not hire her if you have an issue that request her full attention on family matters Update: we have spoken to her as of today--after threat of termination and she seems to understand and be apologetic for her negligence. Will update.
