I cannot remember the last time I was this happy with a haircut…read more.. Yesterday was my first appointment at the Artist House for a styling with Jovan. As soon as I walked through the door, I was taken with the bright, clean and fresh atmosphere of the salon. Her staff is friendly, professional, and they all made me feel at home. I have been wearing my hair in the same basic style for decades... the long-layered cut my generation knows as "the Jaclyn Smith cut". With the retirement of my former hairstylist, I had let my hair go far too long while looking for another stylist, so Jovan had to basically restyle the entire head. I had expected some bumps or issues that would have to be corrected in the next visit, as has been typical my entire life. But... I never expected a gorgeous haircut and style on the first visit! As I blow dried my hair this morning, I, too, was blown away.... even on a horribly humid summer day... my hair fell right into place. I'm SO thrilled with my hair style, Jovan... thank you so much! And my husband thanks you too since my mood has significantly improved... amazing what a great hair day can do for your spirit. See you next month!

NEVER USE LISA: I had the worst haircut of my life done by Lisa Formicola, and I am 59 years old…read morewith very long, healthy, and youthful looking hair. Let me start out by saying that unfortunately I had gone through chemo, but was fortunate enough to keep my hair using the DigniCap system, and then I grew it out for an additional year before going to Lisa for the "after" chemo haircut. She had cut off several inches prior to me starting chemo just in case my hair fell out, which thankfully it didn't. When I went for my first haircut post chemo I had a picture in hand of a cut with long angle in the front, and then an after picture of the same girl with her hair curled. Lisa went on to cut at least five inches of the bottom of my hair, cut the front part at least 10 inches, up to my chin, and then chopped uneven layers all throughout my hair, all of which I did not ask for, nor did it look anything like the picture. On top of that the final cut was totally different on the left side of my head than the right. When I sent Lisa a text asking why this happened she first ignored me, but then tried to state that it was what I asked for. When I stopped by the salon to talk to her about it and ask why she never discussed with me that she was cutting so much off my hair she claimed that I kept cutting her off when she would ask if I wanted that much cut off, which clearly makes no sense. It was just denial after denial of why she did this, which I think was on purpose because I kept my beautiful long hair, and she didn't. I won't get into her person journey. If you love your hair then do not let Lisa touch it. I literally spent $2,000 to keep my hair using DigniCap and then grew it an addition year only to have her chop it all off, even though I had a picture of what I wanted. Her claim that it is what I wanted or that I was cutting her off when she was saying how much she was going to cut makes no logical sense after what I went through to keep my hair. She never once asked or discussed how much she was cutting or I would have NEVER done it. Please understand that I did not realize what was going on because she had my head down most of the time. ** Please note that Alanna cuts my daughter's hair, and her friend's as well, and the haircuts are beautiful and professionally done. I should have went to Alanna, but Lisa had first-hand knowledge of what I went through to keep my beautiful long hair; I never imagined she would chop it all up and leave it uneven as well.

Patti also does the purples, greens, and "modern" colors my twenty-something sons and daughters love. I already made another appointment. Easy parking. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff.
