This company reached out to me to edit a trial video for me. They messaged me for several days to send in a trial video, pressuring me to try their service. They said it would be done in 1-2 days. Days passed, nothing. I followed up several times via text and they said they would get it in. Never did. They ended up ghosting me. After burning out and not being able to scale my business without help, I was looking for someone to hire to edit my videos for me. I used another overseas editor for about 9 months, but it just didn't work out the way I had hoped. I met DAVA at a Youtube conference in 2021, and kept them in my mind until 2022. When I was talking to other large creators about hiring an editor, DAVA was recommended and I remembered them from the conference so I reached out. They were super quick to get back to me and I've been really happy with them ever since. Using DAVA has been a great relief for my business. Their editors are highly talented, communicative, and FAST. When my main editor left the company to pursue schooling full time, they had already taken the initiative to train and communicate my preferences to the new editor and it was a very smooth transition. I appreciate that they are very organized in their systems and communicate with me very promptly through Slack and Asana. The feedback process is also really nice using Frame.io, where I can communicate my edits really easily. When I first asked to see a sample contract (as this is a subscription business model), it looked fine to me. When I got the actual contract, there was a pretty huge and glaring change that would have been nice to know about before regarding payment and fulfilling the contract. I found that to be disappointing and not very upfront since it did significantly change the contract. I did bring this up to my point of contact and I hope they are now showing prospective clients the entire updated contract. Besides this, I have always found our communication to be clear and my questions have always been resolved in a super timely manner. One of the nice things about working with an agency like this vs. a standalone editor, is that the work gets done even when the main editor is sick, out, or otherwise can't complete it. Because of this, I really have a lot of peace of mind with DAVA. The work is excellent, and I have really liked everyone I have talked with and met at the company (I visited their old office in Provo). I trust DAVA with one of the most important aspects of my business, so I extended/upgraded my contract from a 6 month to a 24 month. I'm leaving this review so others don't waste their time. I was working with DAVA for a little over a month. Without exception, they missed every single deadline despite being given much longer to produce the videos than they said they would need. The end result was sloppy and rushed in many cases. I put A LOT of time and effort into communicating with DAVA, in the end, they just ghosted me leaving me to pick up the work they (once again) hadn't done. They talk a good game, but they can't deliver on their promises. This was an extremely bad experience that cost me time, money and caused a lot of stress. I would advise against working with DAVA unless they make huge improvements to their business practices. read more

I signed on the 6 month premium creator contract with Dava. Huge mistake. I paid premium pricing expecting premium services. It was anything but that. - Almost nothing was ever completed within the 48 hour promised turn around - The editing skills were not the premium level I was hoping. It almost seemed like everything was outsourced internationally due to simple spelling errors happening all the way up to 6 months in. Simple things about my brand were not understood. I would lay out every single detail clearly in a document. - Color grading was never done correctly - I would give the same feedback the entire 6 months and it was never improved. giving feedback for my last video with them was the same as the first - The finance team was impossible to reach. They charged me after I confirmed 10 times to end the contract. Had to file a complaint with my bank for a refund past the contract breach. - One month videos were not being done and messages were not being responded to, completely ignoring and breaking the contract. - They market themselves as a professional editing team but I had a bad experience and would not recommend. read more

I've been using Dava for my video editing, thumbnail creation and YouTube optimizing for over a year now and have been very happy with the service. With as many videos as we create, it took a short amount of time to on board and get all the systems running smoothly, which was completely expected with all the moving parts and people involved. Once we got those down, we've been running extremely smooth ever since. They are a major part of our production schedule. They are very responsive and always deliver what we want on time.
