My yard was left incomplete, Shawty work, snarky, and unfriendly Andy. I had to hire another company to complete the job and fix all of the issues that Andy caused. I searched online for a contractors license and couldn't find one that came back to Andy Winn's name. I'm not even sure that he has a license to do the work he is contracted to do. No contractors license to do any kind of masonry or concrete work. For your own sanity look elsewhere. I wanted to leave a zero star review, but was unable to.

We asked for a bid for additional work --- adding a front walk and a side walk in the back and ripping out our entire front yard and about 1/3 of our backyard (to be covered in mulch). Bobcat guy they used -- 5 stars. and that's when it started to fall apart - Not sure if he didn't have a big enough crew for the job, or if they lacked the ability to work more than 3 hours a day without bailing. By the time they wanted to wrap up the job, there were so many unfinished tasks - they rushed and left us with cleaning up after them. 6 weeks after they finished the job (and were paid) we've just spent the 5th weekend in a row clearing mulch, removing yards of weeds and had to have a professional plumber come in to finish the irrigation installation. An altogether disappointing experience.

We started with what was to be a straight forward driveway replacement. Old cracked/cast in place cement being replaced with pavers. Travis recommended lights and we agreed that was worthwhile based on the scope of what was being done, and this being something we will look at every day, multiple times per day. The pavers were also going to be extended to the front door replacing an additional old sidewalk. We didn't want the least expensive contractor. We wanted someone that was reasonably priced, who would stand behind their work. Bella Rosa is that company. The project turned out better than expected. The lights are icing on the cake. The pavers look phenomenal. All that said, there were a few hiccups along the way. Miscommunications on Bella Rosa's side related to what was discussed initially, and when the crew came out for installation. However, Travis always quick to reply, prompt to meet to work through the details and we were very satisfied. As the front was nearing completion we were so confident in Travis's team, Freddy was the foreman on our project, we added on additional things to the original scope. Including, redoing a flagstone walkway, cleaning out a side yard area, removing a layer of soil, adding stabilized decomposed granite, putting in lights along a back fence line. We can't recommend Bella Rosa highly enough. Travis and his team do very good work. And, when things come up, which is normal in construction, they will stand by their work and resolve any unexpected things. These are projects we could've DIY'd, but the result would not have looked as good, and would've required many months to complete.

Overall very happy with Jeff's execution. First of all - his bid for the job was very reasonable and he provided a quote in reasonable time. My builder had his own concrete guy and I am not even sure why that other guy exists in the business because his bid was not only late, it was incomplete and lot of unknowns. Comparatively, Jeff was more thorough and gave the estimate in a very reasonable time. I liked his and his crew's work ethics. They showed up when they said they would. A lot of contractors practice what is I call "book the job" - they will come in one day, move a few things and then disappear for several days. Nothing like this with Jeff - they executed. His crew even worked very late in the evening with rechargeable lights to do the broom finish. While Jeff was executing my job, he became very sick - but he was back on my job for the pre-pour inspection and then getting the job completed even though I could tell he was not 100%. On the final billing - there were a few minor adjustments - all very reasonable for a few extra things that I had requested or for the complications that he ran into on the job. He also gave me credit for a few things. All done very fairly. I have no hesitation in recommending Jeff for concrete.

Agreed to proceed with one bid at a time. Glad I did that. BTW bids came in far lower than other competitors. Now I know why. I'm not going to bash the experience with detail, but here's something to note: Skeleton crew. The regular down to earth blue collar workers they were had me trusting them but I found myself constantly asking questions as after the contract was signed, communication slowed drastically. I thought more detail would be discussed. Think this particular job was out of their lane and, to me, they left it incomplete/did the bare minimum/ couldn't wait to get outta there. They also were random in their work schedule. Sometimes there for half a day then you wouldn't see em for days. It took at least double the time projected. Thought maybe it could be a fluke as there were some noticeable issues with the business which seemed out of their control, so asked for some updates to job 1 bid. I was assured a bid would be revised/sent, but ironically, I cut the final check for the job completed, then I was ghosted. Tried to give this business benefit of the doubt, but they constantly showed red flags. Hey if you like letting a businesses take full control of your project, its basic and you don't really care about detail, this is a business for you. A lot of the photos show very basic 101 jobs completed on here. Hope everyone learns something from my experience.

First of many problems: the watering controller he installed did not work properly from the get-go. I told Pete about it and requested a receipt for the controller (it was the end of the job so he wasn't planning to return). Instead he came out and fiddled with the controller and said it works fine. He left and it still didn't water according to the settings so he came out again (after the job was completed) and fiddled some more, saying again there was nothing wrong with the controller. He never gave me a receipt, so as the same problem kept occurring, I finally had to replace it. Because Pete never gave me a receipt (I suspect he used a controller he had sitting around, and not a new one for my job, however he told me it was "professional grade" and cost $300), I couldn't return it and had to spend more money on the new controller. Very irritating. Irrigation system and planting: I asked him to add on to the existing drip irrigation system and bring water to several fruit trees and numerous new shrubs I requested that he put in. However he installed 1 gal. drippers to everything, whether it was a large existing fruit tree or a new small shrub. Fruit trees require a lot more water...Pete told me he was an arborist so he should know the right amount of water fruit trees need. Now I'm having to switch out these drippers myself to something that provides adequate water. Again not something I should have to be doing. I requested all cascading rosemary shrubs in numerous locations. He installed half cascading rosemary and half something else (I don't know the name...he didn't provide any tags). My bad for not saying something at the time, as I thought the additional color might be pretty. Well, the other plants he selected COMPLETELY took over the area covering the slower growing cascading rosemary. Now I have to tear some of those plants out and put them elsewhere, so that I can see the plants I requested in the first place. Some of the new plants he put in began to die after a while so I looked a little closer to figure out why. Half the root system was above ground...the hole was not dug nearly deep enough! I tried to correct this but unfortunately the plants were too far gone so my effort was not in time. Finally, I asked Pete to shore up some fence posts that were lagging. It was a picket fence surrounding a small patch of my front yard. I asked him to go around and check each post. I am too trusting...I assumed he had done that. However, he only shored up 4 fence posts and not the posts on either side of the gate, the ones that needed attention the most. Overall, I am pretty unhappy with the job this company did for me. I read other reviews stating how detail oriented Pete was for them...He did not pay attention to the details of my landscaping project, and I'm not sure he dealt honorably with me about the controller problem. I would not recommend him/his company.

After meeting and texting with you, and reviewing your photos, my job may have been out of scope for you. This was a yard that had been through the wringer, drought, voles, irrigation breaks. Had pretty much deteriorated to a large weed patch. Large yard, too, probably close to 2500 square feet. I have a nice looking home otherwise, so, it was making me crazy. Junior impressed me right away, very professional and knows his sh*t. I saw no reason to get any other quotes. We talked, he took some pics and measurements, and we shook hands and agreed to work together. I put together some drawings of how I wanted the design, we met again, flushed some things out and agreed on a plan. He provided me a very concise and clear written quote, I signed, and we agreed on a start time a little later in the summer, better for both of us. End of August, they got started, and BAM, they were on it. These guys are awesome, hard working, smart, focused, and absolutely know how to maximize their time. What they accomplished in two weeks is still mindblowing to me. I have mostly worked things by myself, around the house, and this would have taken me a whole summer to get done, maybe longer. Everything came out exactly as planned. It looks soooo great, absolutely exceeded my expectations. I can't stress how much I enjoyed the process of just watching it all come together. Turf, Rock, Stone, Plantings, all of it looks so good. DLH was a pleasure to work with every step. Much thanks to Junior and all of the guys for all of their effort. If there is a next project, there will only be one call I make, to Diamond Landscape Hardscape. Bob Y. Diamond Springs, CA. Sept. 2025
