I was a new patient of Dr. Rob Warwar for the first time after about 10 years without seeing an MD…read more I went in with complaints of backpain. Dr. warwar treated the immediate problem with cortizone as well as ordered xray imaging and physical therapy. During the initial visit, Dr. Warwar became concerned with my thyroid and the way that is was protruding from my neck. I had had a lump there since the last time I saw an MD and they said it was fine, so I forgot about it. With no symptoms, Dr. Warwar still decided I needed a biopsy after an Xray showed multiple growths. Turns out after following up with recommended Endocrinologist Dr. Westhoff I was diagnosed with Papillary thyroid cancer at 27 years old. With an early diagnosis I am able to remove the thyroid without much complication in the future other than a pill daily. Without Dr. Warwar, I truly believe this is something I would have not immediately, if ever, be worried about or even conscious of. Not only being my first consult with him, but with having a whole different issue bring me in, I am just impressed and more than grateful for what was potentially a life saving call. I will recommend Dr. Warwar to anyone I meet and continue to share this story because health CARE is so hard to come by now a days.

Love Dr Traci Williams but PRIMARY MEDICAL is UP CHARGING us for our yearly wellness physicals…read more(fully covered by Aetna Medicare PPO) AND included charges for an additional office visit. Billing dept mgr and scribe says my spouse has low back pain. He takes an occasional Advil after riding over 40 miles on his bicycle and up in the mountains at 76 yr old. Dr Williams asked me if I took calcium/D3. I have NEVER been D3 deficient and started taking calcium with D3 in it in when 50 years old as Dexa scan said a bit of osteopenia which has changed little in 25 years. We simply answered Dr Williams questions and I asked her to check my husband's hearing. The scribe and Billing Mgr will write in anything they can (true or not) to charge you extra! It was all routine exam, eyes, ear, throat heart, lung, and breast exam for me. No internal exams. We will be changing doctors asap and refuse to pay extra fees for routine exams and to answer questions. We are healthy, exercise, eat right, and NOT overweight. We reported them to Aetna FRAUD dept! I notified Dr Williams. She will be retiring in 2 years she told me. AVOID THIS GROUP with offices located in Ventura and Oxnard. This is the first time they started UPCHARGING despite going there for several years for our physicals/wellness visit!

Ten steps to prepare for a successful…read moremedical visit. 1) They offer Tele health (best when contagious) 2) They do their best to accommodate late, no shows, and same day appointments. (At times can back up their schedules) 3) Come in with questions and concerns written down. Especially if you do not understand the "plan of care." Always available to talk about new research, treatments, etc. (within reason) Pen &paper to take notes. 4) Bring in your home medications/vitamins to visits. (Best time to ask for refills, dose changes, etc) 5) Get a personal planner: write down your daily health results such as Vitals, BP, BG, weight changes and food diary! Providers will greatly appreciate it. 6) Many vaccines are now available at your Local pharmacies. Also, some noncontrolled meds are able to be sent via mail delivery 7) Ask about Preventative Screening: Colonoscopy, Mammo, Dexa Bone scan, PAP, Cholesterol, Hearing, Vision, Dental, PSA, Vaccines, Mental Health, PrEP, and more (Varies w/ age) 8) Check in a couple of minutes early just incase you have to fill out new company (Dignity Health) paperwork. 9) Remember we're a team if something is not working after giving it a try for weeks (without adverse reactions) instead of abruptly stopping contact the office for an alternative. 10) Please be patient with staff Starting June 22' they began using a brand new computer system. I was not asked to write this just thought it would be helpful for future visits. #BeWell

Dr. Robert (Bob) Dodge's office is located in the 5-story building across the street from Community Memorial Hospital in mid-town Ventura. There is a 3 story parking structure below the building that offers free parking. Dr. Dodge's office is located in unit 502. There's 2 doors then enter into the office. Day of my New Patient Exam, 2/29 @1000: I arrive at 0950 and sign-in on a sheet. At the front desk sat, Rosie-one of the receptionist who was not very warm and welcoming. After about 10 minutes Nicole, got me registered me into the system and collected my co-pay. Within 5 minutes I was called back by Hannah, who I'm assuming is the MA, which proceeded in taking my temp, weight and vitals-she also performed pre-appt questions to get a better gage for my visit. She then walked me to the exam room where I waited another 5-10 minutes for Dr. Dodge. My first impression of Dr. Dodge is that he is very warm and welcoming. He has great energy and displays true concern about your care. He actively listens as you voice your concerns and reiterates back to you. I like that he was consistent in asking if I had any questions, to make sure I understood his recommendations. The overall physical/assessment appointment was about 30 minutes, and then I was done. I would highly recommend Dr. Dodge to anyone looking for a new primary care physician. I'm happy to have finally found a primary care physician that actually cares and who is quite knowledgeable about anything and everything from internal and family medicine!
