The care provided by their Doctor's used to be the "Gold Standard" in SE Michigan. If you had a Beaumont Doctor, you had the best of the best. Hm. I think that is an outdated mind-set. It's truly unfortunate. I have a close family member who first went to the Wound Care center after a decades old injury developed an infection, inturn became an open mass. After testing, it was discovered the weakened spot was caused by dormant MRSA. Thankfully, they had aggressive antibiotic treatment which is now helping this wound to heal. No thanks, at all, to the lousy, flippant, could-care-less approach and attitude of the Doctor's at these offices. The doctor my family member saw didn't want to be bothered. "Oh...you can walk on your leg." When where the wound was located was directly impacted by excessive walking. "See you in 3 weeks." They have MRSA, a deadly infection, and this Doctor only wanted to see them once every 3 weeks. "Let me know how it goes". After the family member told the Doctor that they are being cared for by an Infectious Disease Specialist. "It will heal in a month." When the course of treatment needed could take anywhere from 6 months to a year. This Doctor was talking out of their ass. He had no clue what to do about this wound, absolutely NO suggestions for this patient and the course of treatment he did recommend (aggressive cleaning and covering of the wound) actually set my family member back in their recovery. His craptastic bedside manner only made it worse. When frustration sets in a Doctor doesn't have to lie but why not pretend to give a shit? An expensive degree doesn't mean you should work with the public. Especially with patients who are scared and intimidated by what they are facing. This place is a joke. There is no "care" in their care. I am happy to say my family member is recovering well, under the guidence of a new doctor. From the Providence Health System. Maybe if enough people are truthful there may be a positive change? In my opinion, there has been a tremendous drop in quality at Beaumont GP. The manager at Beaumont GP at the time was Michelle. A serious wound that requires multiple trips per week is bad enough, but it's made much worse by staff with very little empathy or sympathy. OMFNG !!
