DataSphere is a scam, pure and simple. We track our customers very carefully because we're a service company, so we need to know where they come from and how to find more. In the 4 months we've been working with them, the ads they place have generated zero calls, zero emails, and zero results. We have even cycled different ads (ones which worked on other services like Google and Facebook) and we still saw no results. They will tout their "video production team", but what they provide is a PowerPoint slideshow with a voiceover. That's it. The quality is laughable. I was curious how long it would take to make...and about 15 minutes later I had produced the same quality "video" as their "production team" for no cost. This is a valueless service. Also, when they first "produced" the "video", they took a photo from another business and put it into our slidehow! The photo had the other business' NAME in the shot and they still messed it up! Totally unprofessional. They told us before we signed on that the ad would run on the home page of Fox Baltimore, top half of the page and immediately visible to visitors. In actuality the ad is buried on subpages in the Fox Baltimore domain, and so far down that you have to scroll through multiple other ads and articles to even see it. For the first couple weeks we couldn't even find our ad, though they guaranteed us it was running and would cycle between our ad and ONE other. After 30 page refreshes and four different devices with separate search histories, it never came up once in two weeks. It took about 3 weeks for the ad to even show up, and it's not like they pro-rated the service. Now, having reviewed the results of their advertising and judged they are worthless, we have been trying to get SOMEONE to reply to messages so we can try to cancel this service. After a week we haven't heard anything back. Their "customer service" is yet another empty promise. This company is a total, complete waste of money. No matter what they tell you, do not pay them for advertising. Ever. They are not providing value for what they charge. We would get better results advertising on Pornography websites, for less money, with a completely unrelated service, than what DataSphere has been able to produce. (P.S. Got a call from someone claiming to be affiliated with our local news station, and after explaining what seemed to be a great marketing campaign to us we naively signed up for a year contract with DataSphere, paying over $2,000 of our hard earned marketing budget money. We saved up every penny we had for our business and didn't take out any loans. Almost a month in and communication from anyone from DataSphere is like pulling teeth. We have no website as promised, no video as promised, just a few Facebook ads and a tiny buried coupon on our local news station's website. No actionable leads. Glad I read the Yelp reviews, before contracting with them. 3 warning signals, from their representative's sales pitch: 1) No 1 month trial. You have to pay for the whole year. I asked for a "bare bones" 1 month trial. No video, no website creation, nothing that would take a lot of time. Just a simple mobile banner, to see what the monthly response would be. He said no. So if their advertising doesn't work, you're stuck paying for the whole year. 2) He went further: "I can't ask my team to do a 1 month trial, as we have 20 other customers who will take your 'spot', no questions asked, for the whole year". If he has so many customers just waiting to sign up, why is he calling me? Obviously, it's just a blatant sales-pitch lie. 3) He said the cost is $199 per month, for a 1 year commitment. On their website, it says the package starts at $169 a month. When I pointed this out to him, he said, "The website is wrong". I wish I would have done my due diligence and found this yelp page before agreeing. One of the main selling points was that once someone clicked on my datasphere page it would become a "sticky" ad for the next 30 days on other websites the clicker would visit, and I could embed that code into my website. On one of my "consultation calls" when I asked about it they said that service was no longer available. Had I not asked I would not have been notified. Instead they offered a website (I already have a website) and I agreed. But now I have the undertaking of working with one of their web designers to build a second website! Ain't nobody got time for that. I've tried calling them several times and always get sent to voicemail. I. WANT. OUT. Thanks to a feedback survey, I was reminded of the awful experience I had with this company. Where do I begin? 1. The overall product is far, far from what was described. My ad was so far down the page, no one in their right mind would ever see it. The buried news article would be above the fold and my ad was 2 full scrolls down the page. News flash, NO ONE IS LOOKING DOWN THERE. The sales pitch was extremely misleading in this aspect. Basically a bait and switch. 2. The profile page was alright. Again it was buried within the site. And despite several exchanges, Dataspehere support was unable to get a simple logo to upload without stretching and shrinking. Resulting in a terrible looking representation of my business. 3. This is the real kicker. I called in to cancel this server, was told it would be cancelled. Fast forward months later and I find its still being billed to my account. I again called in, explained the situation. Despite having the reps name from my original cancellation phone call, mysteriously they cannot track down any record of my cancellation. I was promised an investigation and a call back, of which I received neither. In summary, this company is selling a product in which they did not deliver on the sales promises. Additionally, this company lacks the ethics to treat customers properly and fairly. In retrospect, I should of pursued chargebacks for the months I shouldn't have been charged. If only we'd looked at Yelp first..........lesson learned. We were promised 30 "actionable" leads per month. Two months in, we have received ZERO actionable leads. When you call to cancel, you cannot speak with anyone--and their VM states they will return your call in 3-5 business days. Really? 3-5 days? That alone with worth cancelling! So, bottom line: no results, no customer service. Update: got a call from a woman in their "customer service" department as a result of this review. After trying to squeeze another month's payment out of us (and accusing us of lying about our experience, while at the same time saying she would file a complaint against the salesman who sold us this huge bucket of BS), she sent us an email saying we would not have to pay anything else and we were let out of our contract. I've filed a complaint with the BBB (which Datasphere has no accreditation, but plenty of complaints). This company sells you the world, and delivers you nothing but false hopes. Totall scammmmmmmm. Do Not use this garbage service. I was called out of the blue, There offer sounded great. I was to have an ad on the KESQ website which is my local news in my area. I signed up for 6 months of advertisement over the phone with the rep and agreed to the contract over the phone and gave him all my info over the phone and was never sent a contract. after a couple of month of the ad not doing anything I, realized there was nothing I could do to get out of the 6 months so i waited out the 6 month. After 6 month I was still being auto billed from DATASPHERE, I tried to contact them with no reply. A couple months went by and I finally got in touch with a rep. The rep sent me a copy of my agreement which I dont have in any of my records and not in my email account that they have on file for Me. It was not what i agreed too. DATASPHERE somehow managed to sneak in (after your contract end data, it will go to a month to month billing cycle on till canceled). Very sneaky sneaky company. And even if this company was not sneaky there services SUUUUUCK. I did not get one sale or client out of this service. Sure You get monthy reports on how many people see the ad, But I still didnt get anybody to walk through my shop doors from this ad. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND ANYBODY TO THIS COMPANY. HORRIBLE SERVICE! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING THAT YOU PAY THEM TO DO! I was cold called by an individual from this company claiming to represent King 5 News offering to add us onto King 5 News' website. We talked a while and he stated how over 1million individuals visit King 5 and how my business would be advertised to at least 15% of all viewers and readers and that I would be the sole advertiser in my industry. For $399 per month they would add banner ads and video ads to the site and they had me on that one. I signed a 12 month contract with them and off we went. I got an email then from DataSphere asking for information on what kind of ads we wanted. We spent a couple weeks working out the banner ads and then they gave me a very cheaply done powerpoint like presentation of a video. The script was a mash of basic ideas and statements from our website and sounded awful. I gave a new script and this time once it was recorded they just placed it on the website without review. The script was good but the video was still high school quality. Then some weeks went by and I went in to check my Analytics as I usually do and didn't find a single hit from King 5 or DataSphere, not even a bounce. So we went hunting for our ads on the website. We used a computer in the geographical area that the ads are set to and spent over an hour looking for our ads. We didn't find it once. We contacted DataSphere on the issue and they replied with a screenshot with the ad in an article and an arrow pointing to it in the lower right hand corner as if we are blind and it is obviously there. We tried again. Didn't see our ad a single time in that exact area of the website. We contacted DataSphere and they said the issue is that our ad link is broken and the reason they didn't show up in analytics is because of some technical gobbildygook and because the banner ads don't go to our website but a special profile page which I have never customized or seen or heard of until that moment. I asked for a months compensation because god knows how long the link was down (if that is even true) and for the links to go to my site not a page. Not a problem and supposedly that was done within the hour. I then asked one of our employees to try and find our ad every few hours. After three days of searching for any of our ads we didn't see it once. We saw multiple ads for multiple companies multiple times but we never found our company's ad even once. We even saw ads for companies in our industry, unlike how they promised we would be a sole advertiser from our industry. I then did research and saw that DataSphere is famous for not providing the services that have been paid for. So with a total lack of confidence and lack of trust in DataSphere I contacted them and told them that in my eyes they are in breach of contract due to services not rendered yet paid for and demanded a full refund of all payments made in the past. I gave them a couple days to reply and they never even acknowledged that I ever made such statement. No phone call and no email. Nothing. This company is just horrible. They promise you everything but in the end they don't do anything that you pay them to do. Complete 100% waste of money and most likely a scam. I also plan on reporting them to the Washington State Attorney General. UPDATE! I contacted the Attorney General who contacted DataSphere and it seems that DataSphere ignored them. They did reply to me refusing to pay me back and stating they will no longer charge me. They then tried to say to the BBB that I have agreed to their terms and the case was closed. Hell No its wasn't resolved! So what are they now going to go around and attempt to put words in my mouth on my regard? I don't consent to that! Hell I never want to deal with them again. I just want my money back that was wasted on this garbage of a company! UPDATE NUMBER 2! In the first week of june I was contacted by Sean who promised to resolve any issue I have but first he had to investigate some things. Nothing cam of it. Today on June 17th I was called by Sean who first decided to tell me I am wrong in my review and began making excuses on how it al goes through a third party page etc etc etc and I immediately told him that I don't care about his excuses and that they have done NO WORK AT ALL as promised. Call ended with him promising to investigate. Needless to say I have zero confidence in the idea that anything will actually be investigated or resolved any time soon as I have been made these empty promises before. UPDATE NUMBER 3!! I was promised by Sean Donahue a refund almost two weeks ago. I still have not received a single penny back. The Wa state Attorney General contacted me and stated that DataSphere has refused to respond to their inquiries. At this point I do not expect to get my money back. THIS IS A SCAM! If I could pick zero stars I would. Any positive reviews on here are fake. I am a new small business owner in Minneapolis MN and I was taken advantage of by this company. They called me and said they were with Kare11 (a local news station) and that they found me on Facebook and I had been "selected" to receive their services which included an ad on the front page of kare11's website, a video and a webpage that linked all my social media and such. THEN they told me the cost - and get it quick! It'll be gone soon! After I invested 30 minutes of my time with "Jennifer" it felt too late to give up and back out. I was reluctantly talked into some 12 month contract for $149/month. I immediately regretted this. In the short time I tried to "go with it" (two days) I was repeatedly ignored by phone and email AND THEN... They told me to write my own script for the video I am paying them to make me... When I asked about my options to get out of the contract I was given a FAKE phone number to her "supervisor" I cried, I called my dad and I am now reporting them to the better business bureau and I suggest you do the same if you are in my same situation. I have been pretty pleased with the value for my money I have received. I pay a monthly fee and they have done a very well done video for my website, created Local Saver page, and put my ads on parenting, parents and familycircle.com. I also see my ads from them on FB and elsewhere. Think the product they sold me is a good bang for my buck. People do come through my door with the coupons on the local saver page. Honestly, I have been sold a lot of things since I've been open and this is one of the best performing products I have purchased. I also have had nothing but outstanding customer service. I used DataSphere as a customer of Landwatch. Datasphere is their parent company. First, they called me continually to get me to upgrade the ad I purchased. I had no desire to upgrade and told them so but the calls continued. Then I cancelled my ad, but they continued to charge me. I called today when I saw the additional charge and they said you have to cancel the service separately from the ad. Really? I signed up for an ad, but when I cancel the ad, I now have a separate service to cancel? I asked for a refund since the charge went in today and I have no ad running. They refused. I've disputed the charge with American Express but this is a shady company. Beyond this refund policy, the service was worthless. I advertised a house for sale, which got minimal views and no click-throughs or calls. I ran the same ad in a newspaper and got a dozen responses! It was a complete waste of money. I should note that I looked up both Datasphere and Landwatch and they have hundreds of complaints across the internet, including on the Better Business Bureau. They are not BBB accredited. Worst advertising scam ever - sales guys have absolutely no ethics and prey on small businesses with great deal of dishonest posturing. They sign you on for a 6 month contract that you cant get out of and of course they have set it up so it converts to month to month after 6 months with no check in with the customer - whereas when signing up you are peomosed a dedicated person who will be there every step of the way to make your businesses advertosing ca.paign successful. Never heard from them after the initial onboarding call. Never got one customer in the door that found us through one of datasphere's myriad advertising platforms. When I asked them three months into the contract, they claimed that it is subtle marketing so people wont really remember where they found you. How convenient! One of the worst money dumping mistakes I did as a new small business owner. Do not work with them. They claim that if there is not a minimum number of active hits on their ads they will do it for free for the rest of the contract (which makes you feel like the risk is low, but so totally misleading). There is absolutely no way to track the number of hits and you just got whatever number they give you. Just listened to the 30 minute sales pitch. Was so impressed so I signed up. Then looking online at all the bad reviews I emailed to cancel. I am not interested in wasting my time and money on something that most of their clients aren't happy with. Of course no one has emailed or called me to confirm the cancelation. They are very quick to respond when it benefits them but if not good luck in getting through. I will keep calling until someone on their end lets me cancel seeing as how it's been 10 minutes since signing up. So many of these "Scam" companies out there. I tried two programs. First I signed up for a Coupon program - 30 day free trial advertising. Not one call in 30 days. I liked the rep so much I decided to try a different program which was paid UP-FRONT monthly, requiring a 3 month commitment. So, $189 to start. I was told by the rep that, at the end of the month the fee would be reversed if I told them there was no response. So when they dinged me for the second payment ($189), I called and conveyed the lack of success. When I explained my contract, the rep says "Do you have any proof regarding this"? Really? I was promised a banner ad on the Krem2 website and a video montage. No one would return my calls and I never saw any ad proof until over a year later when I noticed charges to my card made by them. Further more, the ad they sent to me that was allegedly on the Krem2 website had a wrong number for my business, no logo, and advertised services that I don't even sell!
