I've been a customer since August 2013. I took a surly Husqvarna 359 in to test the waters and get a feel for the vibe of the place. That saw has been all over town for various repairs and was never quite right. Mark got it running perfectly and replaced incorrect parts (parts replaced at other OPE repair shops/dealers in Albuquerque) with the correct ones. I was very happy with that initial, test transaction so I returned to purchase a Husqvarna 576 Autotune chainsaw. I have used that saw from 1,400' elevation in CA to over 9,000' elevation in the Zuni and Jemez Mountains of NM, without one problem. Dave took the time to get me comfortable with the saw and ran through the proper starting and running procedures with me. By following his advice and reading the manual, I never have problems making it run well. I have since purchased three other pieces of Husqvarna equipment from DAT Rentals: 327PT5S pole saw- The long reach of this saw allows me to prune trees efficiently and safely. My chainsaws have been languishing because I can do more work with this in a systematic, organized way during tree removals and pruning. 580BTS backpack blower- This tool has been an excellent addition. It rolls matted, wet cottonwood leaves like carpet. I've been able to tackle decades worth of matted leaves on two acres of land with ease. I look forward to fall now. 345FR brushcutter- This is my most recent purchase and I'm sad that it took this long. I've been able to cut my trimming (read brush clearing) time down to a fraction (~1/3) of what I used to spend. Young elms, Kochia, Russian Thistle (tumbleweed), pigweed, and dense grass are no match for this machine. The only limiting factor has been my walking pace because it will cut as fast as I can walk. Every equipment purchase has been positive, informative, and reassuring. The prices are competitive and I know that I have a dealer to visit if I ever have an issue with the tool. Having a servicing dealer with great customer service at our disposal is a wonderful thing. Dave, Mark, and Anthony are there for their customers and I cannot express how much that truly means to me. I was looking for a weed eater. The Poulan Pro I had was brutal and wanted something that wasn't so hard on me or my back. I was immediately greeted when I entered the store. Dave asked a bunch of questions so he could point me to the unit that would best suit my needs. He not only showed it to me, he explained the differences in that unit and the others. I never felt pressured to buy any unit, but was given the knowledge to chose the one that best fit my needs. They also showed me how to use the weedeater, how to service it, etc. I not only left the store with a brand new Husqvarna weedeater, I left with so much more knowledge about weed eaters. I'm very happy with the top notch service I received and vowed to go back for other equipment in the future. Before trying DAT Rentals, I checked out his competitors first. Please note, DAT Rentals is the largest Husqvarna dealer in New Mexico. They are the ONLY dealer who accepts the Husqvarna credit card. All equipment I've purchased are top notch machines. No problems whatsoever. Service after the sale is still excellent. I highly recommend DAT Rentals. They've always treated me with the utmost respect. After talking with them for a lil while, they definitely know their stuff. I recommended to our local Volunteer Fire Dept that they get their mower repaired here. One comes to mind as I read the reviews posted on 2/3/ 2014 and 2/4/2014 and 2/5/2014 not only made me very angry but appalled that one business would go to such lengths as to try and ruin another.Tina S, Ramon G, and John S are all being guided by one Clemente Lopez AKA "JR" and K and S rentals next door. Dave Truszkowski is one of the most honest and honorable men/business owners I've had the the pleasure to know.Last spring I rented a toter tiller and not only did I get a great rental price but Dave delivered it and ultimately did the job for me. I was in the market for a chainsaw. Been to other dealers, but could not find what I needed. So I stopped by DAT Rentals and they had so many to choose from! They have the biggest selection in the area. I went there thinking that I knew what I needed, but the owner, Dave, showed me that by spending slightly more for a better model, that it would be the better choice for the long term. He showed me all of the differences between the models and I learned quite a bit from him. No other dealers spent that much time to educate me about my purchase. Not only did I buy the chainsaw, which is the perfect one for me, they also had all of the necessary equipment to get the job done safely like gloves, helmet/face shield, chaps, rope, extra chains, bar oil, files etc. Not only that, Dave made sure that I could use the saw by practicing on some logs there. I met the owner/manager actually at sprouts after shopping, he had a truck full of wood in the parking lot... being an artist I was curious if he was going to need all of it. He said no and inquired why... I told him I was needing cut wood for this art idea and I would love to buy some. He gave me his card and told me to come by the shop the next day. The next day I stopped by and he had cut the pieces of wood to the size I needed for my project. The other worker there said he had been working on it throughout the morning for me. As I waited for him to cut the rest of the wood (he had customers to also attend to) I saw how he knew everyone by name, would ask how they/family were doing, along with going to as much detail as the customer needed for the tool they were either buying or having repaired. I was shocked on how friendly and attentive everyone was to every customer, I have not seen such an amazing business in... to be honest ever... I will be going back to this shop and referring everyone I know! read more

Discovered DAT when I went to the other shop next door that is now out of business. I was in need of a replacement chain for my Stihl. Dave was very friendly, even more knowledgeable, and quite a pleasure to deal with. He had several of my size chain in stock and his prices were lower that anywhere else I had shopped. Got commercial grade 20" 3/8" chain for $20, he had a buy 2 get one free sale. I have always paid $35 for them in the past, even the consumer model "safety chain" cost about $20 at the big box stores. Dave even deduced my chainsaw part number only knowing it was Stihl, unknowingly I was arguing with him only to come home and find out that he was dead on. Don't let the Husqvarna sway you into thinking he is a one saw shop, these guys are really good, and offer the best value in town. read more

I can't say enough good things about Dave & Mark at DAT. Every October when I come to Albuquerque with my hot air balloon for Fiesta, I take my inflator fan (with a lawn mower engine) to DAT for a check-up & service. This year I also had a mishap with my balloon trailer & Dave & Mark took time out of their busy schedule to make all the necessary repairs. They came up with a repair that would get me through Fiesta even though repairing trailers is not part of their business. I was referred to Dat rental for a mower that is under warranty and leaking oil around the carburetor. Dave was courteous over the phone and said to bring it by. They looked at the mower for less than a minute and found the problem, had a solution and sent me on my way. No paperwork, no charge. Very friendly and efficient.
