Popped in to Dat Phong for a family dinner last Thursday. The restaurant has recently changed management and had a make over. The staff and environment of the restaurant caters for groups very well.
An extensive Vietnamese menu is available. We started with salt and pepper silken tofu, cooked perfectly and extremely silky. As well as Bo La Lot - beef wrapped in vine leaves.
I had my favourite grilled pork and spring rolls on rice vermicelli and it did not disappoint. My sister ordered the Ban Xeo, which doesn't seem to be as widely available as many other Vietnamese dishes. The crepe like pancake filled with prawns, pork and bean shoots certainly looked impressive, and my sister verified it tasted just as good. My parents were equally impressed with the quality and freshness of the seafood served in their noodle dishes.
Because we were having a birthday celebration we didn't peruse the dessert options but felt that it was quite generous not to charge cakeage.
All round a very pleasing meal. Best of luck to the new owners! read more
