My regular gastroenterologist referred me to Dr. Desai because I guess I have unusual anatomy. I went in for an ERCP but my regular gastroenterologist couldn't complete the surgery and called Dr. Desai to come in and he suggested he try and do the surgery again later that day. I loved that he sat and explained everything that happened and would happen to me and my husband and even allowed my husband back in the surgery room for a few minutes as he knew I was pretty nervous. My husband said while I was in recovery he came out and explained again what he did and actually gave him his direct number with any questions we might have later. Fast forward a couple weeks and I went back to see Dr. Desai as I still wasn't feeling well and he suggested another surgery but he explained everything and why I needed it and totally calmed my fears about everything. He has a wonderful bedside manner and really listens to you and answers your questions in a down to earth way. The office is convenient for me too, located on Blossom in the same building as my primary care doctor so that's awesome! I also adore his office staff! They are so friendly and they get stuff taken care of! I was going to a different gastroenterologist and I like him ok, but I'm not going back to see see anyone but Dr. Desai now!

He would not listen to me. I tried to explain to him that I was sent there on a referral for some very severe problems. I explained to him what I have been doing the past two weeks. He basically told me to go home and keep doing what I was doing that I would be OK. Are you kidding me? If you don't have Covid you don't exist in the world right now. I wouldn't recommend this physician to my dog.

My husband is a new patient here, so I have no reviews of the doctor that helped him. My review is specifically for the receptionists that works there. Highlights in waves and straight hair girl in the front by the window were so rude. However, there was one other lady and she was sweet and patient! You would think that a doctor's office in one of the most diverse areas in Houston would know a thing or two about showing empathy to those who don't speak English. There was a mix-up in the appointment time where I remembered I scheduled for a 10:00 appointment, only to find out that it was 8:45. Honestly, I accepted that I was in the wrong because my husband probably heard wrong when he was scheduling. (And the confirmation text had the appointment date but not the appointment time?) So I didn't mind the snappy tone of her voice in the call whatsoever, because it was an honest mistake. What REALLY bothers me is when we had to make a new appointment and she literally continued to mock us, repeating to me and my husband-- "aRe YoU SuRe yOU UnDerSTAND? YOU SEEM VERY CONFUSED THE FIRST TIME." (I quote this verbatim and she repeated this at least 3x") and added "ARE YOU SURE? JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE". I'm not about that so I just politely said, "yes we understand". But it is disgraceful how she speaks to non-native speakers when her job is a receptionist. Your parents or grandparents have probably experienced something similar and struggle to schedule appointments and call customer service without a representative being rude and snappy. SO PLEASE STOP PASSING THE BATON and REMEMBER YOUR ROOTS and try to be kind. You of all people should understand the struggles that minorities go through, so please be patient even if there is some frustration. They are probably reading this and smirking and laughing behind their desks right now and I honestly don't care, because I pretty sure this message won't even reach them. And if it does, then bless their hearts. I can only hope this doesn't happen to the other experiences of other patients coming here. On a good note though, they were really great about patients going in and out. Operations, nurses, or doctors in there.. great job! No wait time at all.

Wait times & experience : first time here we came with X-rays from urgent care and they said they needed to do more, come to find out they needed to do more because they were taking X-rays on a different ( wrong ) part of the body, this increased our wait time by 1 hour- since this was a child I wasn't SUPER happy about that, they blamed it on miscommunication between the admin and nurses. I was immediately greeted at the front desk and asked for my insurance/driver's license. She asked what pharmacy I preferred. Despite being in a great deal of pain, I conjured an answer to all of her questions. In less than 10 minutes, I was called to the back of the facility. First, the nurse saw me to check for vitals; her personality was funny, nice, and honest. I briefly explained to her what was going on with me. She made light of the situation by making me laugh which I appreciated as I was a bit afraid and stressed. Then, the nurse practitioner, Sheta walked into the room to assess me. She off the bat told me that in-house they did not have any imaging machines to diagnose me. She referred me to Memorial Hermann Community Care Clinic which is essentially a free-standing emergency room. Although, they could not help me with my medical needs; I appreciated the quickness of everything.

Instead of going to the loop for my regular doctor, I checked into urgent care out of desperation. I'm glad I did. This urgent care has a lot of things that I like in general for medical facilities: extremely clean, parking spaces galore, fast elevator, and virtual visit options. I wasn't exactly loving the curt receptionist who seemed bothered by my last minute visit, but was able to get my insurance / co-pay straightened out rather quick. Because I didn't make an appointment, I was relegated to waiting around for 3 hours. Eventually when it was my turn to be seen, I was in the room waiting another 40 minutes before a doctor came in to see me. It was a holiday, so the crew was stretched thin at the time. The doctor was able to figure out quickly that I had an ear infection and a super inflamed ear canal. He inserted a cotton wedge in and applied some prescription level ear drops which made me feel better almost instantly. He was professional, friendly, and answered all of my questions. This is the kind of bedside manner I can get behind. Because of his outstanding care, I was able to feel better in just over a day. it was one of the worst ear infections I've ever had, but I will always be thankful I came here to get some immediate relief. I would suggest to most folks to make an appointment and submit the forms online if at all possible to speed up the process.
