I have been bringing my 6 year old daughter to Gentle dentistry since she's been two. Due to the…read moreover abundance of clients they have, I am only able to get her in to be seen for a cleaning once a year, even though recommended is every 6 months. Most of all appointments went overall well. The dentists I have all seen, most of them I did not care for, but not enough to complain about. All of the dental hygienist have been wonderful. Today, my daughter had her yearly cleaning scheduled at 4:20Pm. I was unable to take her because I was scheduled to work, so I asked my mother to take her. My mother called me at exactly 4:34 (14 minutes after the start time of the appointment) very upset and in tears. She stated that when the dental hygienist took my daughter back, she said she was due for X-Rays, as my daughter has had them done there before. My daughter kept gagging on the bite tabs, because my daughter is only 6 years old, obviously she has a smaller mouth still. The dental hygienist only allowed two tries, then seemed frustrated and said "whatever I guess we will not be getting X-Rays done since she can't stop gagging on them" instead of starting the cleaning process of her teeth, she automatically went and got the dentist. When the dentist walked in he seemed fine with skipping the X-Rays. He then asked my daughter to open her mouth. My daughter was cautious with opening her mouth, due to just being yelled at because she kept gagging on bite tabs. My mom ended up getting up to go stand by my daughter to offer comfort and encouragement to open her mouth for the dentist. The dentist then looked at my mother and told her to step away from my daughter and sit down. My mom backed away. The dentist then proceeded to hold my daughter's head down into the chair and try to pry her mouth open with force. My daughter fought back and my mom ended up telling him to stop and get his hands off of her. He then stood up and threw his tools onto the table and said "I am not dealing with this or with her today. She can go see a pediatrician dentist." And stormed out. My mother grabbed my daughter and ran out of the office. By the time I was aware of this, the office was already closed. I did call and leave a voicemail. The office is closed tomorrow, but I will be walking into the office to demand an explanation on Monday and making it clear that this appointment will not be charged for because they did absolutely nothing. It clearly states on their webpage that they work with pediatric patients, but clearly hire staff that has absolutely no patience or sympathy. I am overly disgusted by the way my daughter was treated today, with force and no dignity or respect. I am upset as well that my daughter had to wait a year for a cleaning, and has yet to receive a cleaning. Please, if you are a parent looking to bring your child here, I beg you to go elsewhere so you do not have to endure watching your child be treated like a burden and with great force to hold her head into the chair and pry her mouth open. It is disturbs me the fact that someone who is in a caring, trusted profession has absolutely no ethical obligation.

Had an appointment for 10:30 am. Upon arrival I was told the appointment was at 9:00 am. I would…read morenot be able to be seen because they had two patients already waiting. Not sure if the miscues was on my end or thier end but I am about positive I repeated the information back and set the reminder while at the Hutchinson lication. I stated my gums were bleeding and iritated and I need them taken care of as soon as possible. Was told the best they could do was wait for a patient cancellation through next week. What bothers me about it was they are supposed to be a care provider and nobody cared enough to pick up a phone and make a phone call to see why a patient didn't make it in. The only thing I grecieved was an "I'm sorry" that lacked any sincerity as they clearly wanted the conversation to be over. At a minimum it was discourteous and showed a complete lack of professionalism. I left with the feeling that I was just a name on a paper and not a patient.
