Never been treated so poorly by a company in my life! Our nightmare started with this company on…read moreApril 23th and ended today, August 13th, with us still not having all of our cabinets. The owner and staff are nasty people. I drove 45 miles today to pick up our final cabinet (because they refused to deliver it after 3 previous replacements were delivered damaged), and it was again damaged. When I attempted to get the owner, Andy Driver, over to look at the damage, he told me "get the fuck out and never come back". I am a firefighter that just got off a 48 hour shift, and went out of my way to pick up this cabinet. This owner, Andy Driver, called me "a dick" and "a douchebag" multiple times today. Eve, the manager, told me to "Sshhh" and started smiling and saying "Bye Bye Unreasonable Steve". I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to receive cabinets that aren't damaged in a timely manner. We are not rich people, as my wife is a teacher and I am a firefighter. Every penny spent is a lot of money to us. In difficult situations like this, we choose to speak to the managers and owners to give them opportunities to make things right. Nobody in this company was willing to listen to us, or take steps to correct this situation in a professional manner. The name calling, cursing, abusive behavior by the owner and staff, and not giving us an acceptable product was horrible. They treated me like I wasn't a human being, didn't fulfill the contract for the full list of cabinets purchased, and didn't uphold their promise of quality products. Full story timeline: 4/23 - We ordered the cabinets from Amy Sue. We were told they would be delivered 5/13. 5/4 - Amy Sue texted, said cabinets will be delayed to 5/28 - there is nothing they can do. 5/4 - I asked her to reach out to Merillat the manufacturing company and asked her to explain our situation. 5/5 - Talked with Amy Sue on phone and she advises Manufacturer says yes we can move that back up to 5/18 delivery date to us. 5/7 - Texted Amy Sue to get in writing the new delivery schedule, because an email came through with different dates than what she advised on the phone. Amy advises she would just cancel our order and that she would not discuss this anymore. Her manager Eve told me that I had control issues. 5/18 - Called to speak with manager because it should have shipped on 5/14 and it didn't arrive by expected date. Eve called me ridiculous and said the owner refused to speak to me. She said if we were unhappy she would cancel our order. 5/19 - Cabinets deliver and one is damaged. Also, toe kicks were completely missing. Advised Amy Sue and she orders a new one and said she would look into our toe kicks. Our contractor asked that we set the delivery date of the new next one when he is here. We explained this to Amy Sue multiple times and in writing in emails. 6/24 - replacement cabinet delivered - Again damaged. 7/15 - Amy Sue emails next replacement cabinet is in and we advise back we will reach out with a delivery date for our contractor to be here. Amy Sue asked that we reach out before her vacation the following week. I said no problem and we would get the delivery date to her. 7/16 - Cabinet was left on the front porch, luckily my wife was walking out to get my dogs and was able to stop the driver to refuse delivery. AGAIN, this cabinet was damaged. 7/21 - Another replacement cabinet was ordered. They advised they would NOT deliver another cabinet to us and they would NOT let us leave the facility until final payment is made. Mind you we are paid in full except for $500 from 5/19! 8/5 - Amy Sue advises cabinet arrived and there are no defects. 8/13 - I arrive to Advance Electric in Gaylord to inspect and AGAIN the cabinet is damaged!!!! The owner, Andy Driver, starts swearing and being aggressive towards me. Calls me "a dick" and "douchebag" multiple times. I am FORCED to pay $400 as our final payment and leave without our order being completed because we didn't want them to mess with our credit, or ever have to return to that place for that kind of abuse again. 4 MONTHS of complete hell with these people and we still have a damaged cabinet (pictures below). Horrible company, horrible employees, and a disgusting human of an owner.

Avoid this contractor!…read more In late Feb. 2022 I hired J.A.C.K. Contracting to paint an apartment, and install a new sink and dishwasher in a kitchen island where there previously was no dishwasher. I paid a 50% deposit, and was assured that this work would be done by my move-in date of June 6. I ordered paint right away, and Jeremy Murphy told me that they would get started painting in early March. He later changed his bid for the painting job, claiming I had given him incorrect measurements. (He had sent one of his own team members over to measure, but I really wanted to get this project going, so I agreed to the new bid.) I heard nothing for a while, and would email every few weeks just to say, "Hey-I'm moving into this apartment in early June-just want to stay on your radar." I always got a reply within a few days that they would be starting soon-not to worry. This continued right up until the last week of May. When I sent an email saying "We're moving in a week-these jobs need to be done immediately" Jeremy said I had told him our move-in date was in mid-July. I sent a registered letter and email asking for our deposit to be returned, which went unanswered for a week or so. It wasn't until I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau that he contacted me and told me the date mix up was due to a secretary's mistake. (I never communicated with a secretary, only Jeremy via email and phone.) He said that he'd been in the hospital and that was also part of the reason for the delay. He promised that they could paint after we moved in-moving our possessions, draping everything, etc. My husband and I had to leave town for a conference almost immediately after moving in, so I boarded our cats, and told Jeremy that the apartment would be unoccupied for four days, and he could get in and paint. He said that would work. We returned from the conference to find the painting was still in progress, so we had to stay someplace else for a week while they finished. At the end of that week, Jeremy texted me that they had finished and asked if I could drop by payment that day. When I arrived and paid him, I should have done a walk-through, but I didn't. The painters weren't actually quite done yet, and I didn't want to get in their way. After I paid Jeremy, he left in a hurry and did not return. Later that day, when the crew left, they left trash bags in my yard, and ladders, scaffolding and other supplies on my deck for two weeks. There were paint drips down the walls, speckles on our furniture and other belongings, and paint on the carpet and trim in some places. They used only of the amount of paint Jeremy had told me to buy, but it had been purchased months earlier and I couldn't return the extra (about $500 dollars' worth of paint). I expressed these concerns to Jeremy, and he told me he would fix everything when he worked on the kitchen island, which was held up waiting for new countertop, because he didn't tell me what size to order until he was onsite painting. He explained that he had been robbed of the cash I had paid him when he went to a gas station the day the job was finished and was preoccupied with that, rather than checking that the paint job was finished. After seeing the shoddy quality in the painting, my husband and I decided we didn't want this company working on a more complicated project in our home. I asked Jeremy for a refund of my deposit for the kitchen island project. After a couple of emails to this effect over the course of a month, he responded that he had tested positive for Covid and couldn't get to his workplace to create a list of what materials he had bought for my project to deduct from the deposit. (I purchased the dishwasher, sink, faucet, garbage disposal and all connectors that were advised, so I wasn't really sure what this might be, so I asked for an itemized list, and to be given any of those items.) A month later, the $1,382 deposit still hasn't been returned. Between May and August, Jeremy claimed to have had to fire his secretary for making mistakes, been in the hospital, robbed, positive for Covid, and unable to return our deposit because of a family emergency. Either this guy has the worst luck ever, or he's full of excuses.
