This is really way overdue, but Anh Phu took our engagement and wedding pictures in 2017. I am someone with absolutely no vision for how things look; I just know I like nature and trees, and Anh Phu took us to all the right spots to take pictures. On our wedding day, we were short on time, but we still managed to squeeze half an hour of group photos at a location downtown, and he managed to do such a great job in so little time. Anh Phu might have strong directorial demands, but it actually worked out better in the end for us. I absolutely don't know how to pose, etc., so while it might be funny during the shooting to give us commands, it worked out. Also, his wonderful partner Chi Christina did my make up for both occasions. She did a fantastic job. I loved it. We had two sessions on my wedding day, and she really went above and beyond to fix my make up in between the sessions when I started to have some dry skin. I got lots of compliments, and felt so beautiful. The budget is also very reasonable, especially if you go for the package and do both the engagement and wedding photos. read more

Phu did a wonderful job for our wedding. He's really nice to talk with and easy to "negotiate" with :) He was very creative and fun to work with. She has great outside sites and even spent more than the hours on the contract with us on the pre-wedding session. Phu is not only professional but also organized and most importantly fun - all of which provide an incredible amount of comfort as we never posed before! It was our first time to take an outside photoshoot and we are not that professional enough to pose. Phu did an amazing job to have us have a perfect and memorial poses. He captured the moments that we want to remember forever. My wife wanted to have more wedding dresses to take photos with and was concerned about spending more money on them. Dasan studio offered us to choose and borrow one of their beautiful dresses and she loved that. We had a bad experience at Walmart a few years ago for my maternity photo shoot so we decided next time find a mom and pop shop or local business. We were going to go to JC Penny because they always have those $25 deal packages but if you read the fine prints it's not really a good deal. We were going to go to Su Studios (forgot their exact business name) but they were closed down. We were really debating if we should go here or not. Since they had such great reviews on YELP, we eventually gave in. The first time we came here our photographer was Luke and he was very patient with us. Our eldest daughter was really young at that time so it was so hard to get her to pose and be camera ready. I felt so bad but Luke was very patient and did not mind. He was very detailed oriented and even told me to take off my hair tie that was on my wrist! The first session wasn't a success and he said come back on Saturday to look at the pictures and he was willing to retake our pics if we didn't like the ones from that day. Sadly we came a little too late and the pictures were already deleted lol. A few months later we came back and luckily Luke was there. He kinda remembered us lol. Our daughter was older then so it was easier for her to pose for the camera and not be so shy. The photos came out great!!! We loved every photo and wanted to order more poses but we picked the 5 picture package so we had to select our favorites. We made a ton of reprints and ordered the CD that way we could upload them online and have a soft copy forever. We came back here the following year to take more family photos but this time the photographer was Zhu. He was such a pleasure to work with, very funny guy! He was also very patient and we got some really good pictures. We ended up liking more of the pics we took so we paid extra for the extra poses. We picked the 5 picture package again but picked an additional 2 poses for an additional fee. I knew I should have just bought a bigger package lol. The middle package has such a good price around $50 and the next package up is a little bit more and I didn't feel like paying that much up front but I think I end up paying for more later on since I end up ordering more poses and reprints lol. We came here twice and were really satisfied both times. Ask for Luke and Zhu! I remember Luke even looked on Groupon on his phone to see if there was a deal going on. Sadly it had already expired but that was so honest of him! Zhu is so funny, he said at Starbucks they spell his name "Zoo" lol. We are definitely coming back here for our next family photo shoot. Always call because for some reason their Yelp page always say they are closed but when you call someone picks up! And they are always busy. One time we came and they were closing early because they had a wedding to go to but Luke was nice enough to print our pictures real quick. 5 solid stars! LUKE and ZHU!!!! PS: Becareful driving here. One of the most well spent portion of our wedding! I have seen Anh Phu's work two years eariler, way before I ever even thought of moving to the Bay area and before I even met my husband. The photos I saw were dramatic (in a stunning way) and the bride looked so beautiful! It looked like some high fashion couture type images. The amazing thing was these are regular normal looking people who had been transformed. Two years later when we were searching for a photographer I immediately thought of those photos. I could not remember the photographer's name but was determined to find him. I went on Yelp and went through each photographer's website until I recognize the style. We met up with Anh Phu that evening and it was confirmed he was the ONE I have been searching for. I met Chi Nhu Nikki the morning of the photoshoot at their Salon. She is adorable greeted me with smiles and a warm cup of coffee. I have seen her work and never had the slightest doubt. She did her magic and "wa-laaa." I haven't seen myself under that light ever. The photoshoot was pretty strenuous. We started at 9am and ended at 5:30ish. Anh Phu was so enthusiastic his energy was amazing. It was only 40ish degrees with reminisce of rain yet Anh Phu clicked at the camera non-stop, with one creative pose after the next. On the other hand, we were shaking non-stop from the cold winds and temperature.You could see the passion he has for photography. In the middle of the road he laid flat on his tummy against the concrete to capture certain angles for us. I was a little nervous considering there was some traffic to our left and right, but Anh Phu just kept right on. What I really appreciated about the anh Phu is that he really is willing to work with the clients. One of my intial request was to be able to have the disc of the original unedited photos. There was some slight misunderstanding. I naturally assume it was going to be high resolution, but it turned out to be viewing quality. I expressed my concerns and Anh Phu went ahead and gave us a copy with higher resolution. Our wedding was hosted in Santa Ana, he was willing to be there , even though it is a long ride. Both of our pre- wedding photo and our wedding + reception photo was taking by the studio. Me and my husband drove all the way to that side of San Jose for a different photography place...that turned out to be closed down. Found this place and checked it out(why not) we were already on that side of town. pictures were taken but during the process, the photographer just snapped shots after shots. I've been to other places and I've had them look at the pictures and compare them. And if those pictures weren't good enough for him, he'd tell me "oh let me take more, this came out funny or whatever" but this guy .... Would ask us how we liked the pictures even if one of us had our eyes shut or someone was looking away. As long as it was good to us he didn't care. I think that's a huge part of being a photographer, you gotta make your "models" look and feel good......once we got done, they told us to come back the next day to pick out which ones we wanted. They said itd only take an hour. We went back to pick them out and the guy told us to come back AGAIN. Alright....? Went back! A different guy was there and had trouble finding our pictures...why? Because they weren't even printed out yet. Apparently the printer broke down YET no one called us to notify us. My husband was upset and he told the guy he didn't want to pay for them nor get them at all but the photographer instead told us to add 2 free prints to our package & said to come back in an hour. WE NEVER WENT BACK. & till this day they haven't called or anything to see if we'd go back. That just shows that they don't really care if they lose a customer or not !! 2 stars because at least the photographer who took our pictures, was nice that day. read more

I just got married on June 06, 2015. Before my wedding, I already knew in my mind that I'd ask Christopher to be the one who will capture my special moments. Honestly, I even had a thought that he might not be available since everyone knows he's the guy to go to when it comes to capturing your special event. That's why I went to him almost 1 year before my wedding. I'm so glad i did though because his schedule was almost filled up. The reason why I have no doubts about Christopher is because he was the one who captures all my cousins and my sister's special days. Their wedding pictures turned out absolutely beautiful. So I really got to know him some more after a couples of times that we've met. On my wedding day, he was there from early morning until the reception was over. For lunch, he didn't even bother to eat and took us and our bridal party out for a outdoor shoot. This place sucks A$$. The day i was suppose to get my photos three people were scheduled to meet with this guy Chris at 6 and he was not even there. The employee said that he was out of town and he does not know when he was going to come back. Mean while, two of the customers could not get there photos because the employee had no clue where anything was. One of the customers found two of the poster size wedding photos on his own and seen that they were damaged. Now it's my turn to get my photo. I was told i can get it on Monday but it was not done because they have NO INK to print the photo. HOW ARE YOU A PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS AND NOT HAVE INK? The employee gives me a cd so i can print the photo somewhere else however there logo is still on the photo so my picture cannot be released. I was told that i have to get a release form so i can get my pictures and they don't have one available. So, i PAID to get my pictures printed and i can't get them because they do not have a release form. This is most UNPROFESSIONAL place I have ever been to and i do not recommended it to NOBODY. They should at least have an employee that knows what he's doing especially if the manager is not there. Go at your own risk. This was the first and last time i will ever go there again. read more

If Yelp has a negative rating, I would give one to Phu. We booked HIM for our wedding photo shooting, in the morning of my wedding day, he texted me saying his car broke down somewhere and that he couldn't make it back, so he sent someone else instead. At first, I thought that was the case, plus, it's on the day of my wedding, not much I can do. A week later, I found out he was doing photo shooting for another wedding on the same day of my wedding. The people he sent to cover for my wedding was horrible. The reception started at 6pm, and only one guy standing there, don't know what to do. The camera was not even set up. My guests arrived and were waited in line all the way outside the restaurant. It was horrible. Photos of the guests came out terrible, bad lightings and they were not centered. Don't trust this guy Phu. I hate the fact that he made up some lame stories and lied to me about his car broke down, that is so unprofessional and unacceptable. If he double booked, he could just tell me the truth. But, he waited until on the day of my wedding to tell me with lies, that's even worst. If you're booking with him, be prepared for unexpected bad news on the day of your wedding. read more
