Make sure you have ear plugs and eye masks as you will really need it. The room was hot in July. Had to open windows. No air conditioning. The restaurant and pub is alive and noisy until about 1 am then its the church bells every 30 mins or so. I was so tired and have no sleep. But it was an experience of a lifetime I must say. Place is somewhat clean but it was really not my taste when it comes to hotels. Hostess is friendly and free breakfast was great. I cant really complain.

The plan was to ski, but when the weather didn't cooperate, the staff at the hotel, namely the receptionist Veronika (?) went out of their way to make sure we were having a great time. She did everything from arranging for a toboggan from another hotel to making regional cocktail suggestions to putting us on a horse-drawn sleigh ride to Austria. As an added plus, the hotel owners - the Zunterer family - hosted a traditional Christmas Eve dinner complete with a Christmas goose, polka, and Christmas carols. Pros: Modern, recently-updated bathroom; Great location on the main town square; treats were waiting for us upon check-in; Yummy continental breakfast with delicious breads as only the Germans can do it; The hotel restaurant gets an A+ for lunch/dinner; Extremely reasonable pricing Cons: Room was typically European, with small dimensions and two twin mattresses pushed together; Wireless internet was only accessible in a common room, not the guest rooms

The blend of luxury, serenity and top-tier hospitality made our stay a memorable one. The spa experience and amenities in the resort were wonderful. The view of the Bavarian Alps from the rooftop infinity pool were magnificent. Whether you are looking to relax after a day of exploring the surrounding nature, or simply indulging for some much needed self-care...you can't go wrong with just soaking in the saltwater pool while you're enjoying the panoramic views of the mountains. The dining options were also world class. The breakfast is a standout...with a feast of options that caters to every palate, from freshly baked pastries and locally sourced delicacies to a vast selection of fruits, cheeses and made to order hot dishes. Overall, this place offers a haven and a nice retreat for folks looking to indulge and want an unforgettable experience.

I have a few more places on my bucket list but I really hope to return here one day to enjoy the wonderful experience (and the elephants, you'll understand when you go!). Many thanks to all of the staff who did so many nice things to make this experience so memorable.

Private bathroom was a big plus which we take it for granted in US. I'd rather pay a little extra for a room to have a private bathroom for our comfort. There was a balcony with seating for two with a view of mountains. We could hear folks having a good time from the nearby biergarten/restaurant, but it all died down around 22:00. For some reason, it was rather quiet on Saturday and Sunday nights. The church (St. Peter und Paul two blocks away) bell rang throughout the night, but it was more soothing than nuisance for me. Breakfast was excellent in typical Bavarian fashion like freshly baked rolls, meat and cheese plate (photo). You can help yourself to müsli, fresh fruit cups, yogurt, muffins (sweet) besides that. Breakfast lady asks you and will make you eggs and bacon if you want (photo). Staff were very pleasant, courteous and accommodating. I believe it was a family-owned and operated pension--very nice folks. There was a three-generation family photo from 2010 Passion Play. I understood they will participate again in 2022. The only thing lacking at this hotel was a restaurant, so we went into town for meals beyond breakfast. No problem. Because of its central location in Oberammergau, you can walk to most of the attractions/restaurants/shops in town. It's very convenient. Limited free parking is available which makes it very convenient.

Although it was a bit out of our way to stay in Oberammergau, we were so glad we did. Such fun just to walk around the town and look at all the shops, restaurants, etc. Wish we had more time to have enjoyed more of the amenities of the guesthouse and the town.
