Here at this Buschenschank (traditional Austrian wine tavern) 30 minutes south of Graz you are…read morelocated right in the middle of the famous Styrian Tuscany, named after its similarity with the Italian Tuscany surrounding Firenze (Florence).
Here in the Styrian Tuscany you also have this poplars and rolling hills and this mild Italian climate, due to the vicinity of Graz and its surroundings in the south to the Adria. The area of Graz is located south of the Alps and is participating at the Italian, Slovenian and Croatian weather, for which large parts of Austria is envying Graz and southern Styria.
We had a delicious Brettljause, a traditional homemade Austrian farmer's plate with ham, bacon, onions, peppers, pumpkin seed spread, liver spread, sausage, cheese, together with a delicious traditional beetle bean salad with pumpkin seed oil, radish and onions. For the drinks we chose homemade elderberry juices.
The staff of the Buschenschank Schauer is very nice. Most of the staff are members of the Schauer family. This place is really a great place to enjoy this very special charm of Styria.
