The casual, warm atmosphere makes you feel at home when you walk in. But note: there's a smoking and non smoking section. My limited German was not an issue, and they kindly brought me a menu in English. My colleagues had told me that Schnitzel was a favorite in Graz, so I had to try it. It is a working farm, where they grow grapes and graze some cattle, and sits on a ridge with a view of the valley below. The rooms are very simple but clean & comfortable, the included breakfast is a very generous meat & cheese platter, and the tree-covered patio outside the bar is a lovely place to sit & enjoy a meal. Erika speaks excellent English and is a gracious hostess. 15-minute drive into downtown Graz, or take the bus from the stop at the bottom of the driveway. We found Sattler by accident but would happily go back again!
