We had a very nice stay in this hotel in the Alps. Hotel is…read morenot immediately in the city centre, and it's not in Garmisch, it's in Paterkirchen (twin city). You need to walk about 25 min to get to Marieplatz in Garmisch (city centre). It might seem like a long walk, but it actually isn't tiresome at all, as the views are breathtaking. More about the hotel: It's very clean and modern. Staff at the reception is really friendly. We were actually 10 mins late to check out, but there was no problem with it at all, they just smiled and took the keys :) We had a room with the queen bed and sofa in french style. The room was great, a good combination of price and quality. Everything was very modern, clean and new. We had a nice view on the mountains. They have daily room service. The room has a small bar as well, although you have to pay for the items in the bar. The hotel has a great small pool area. It was really quiet and relaxing, seemed like no one was really using it when we were there. The water in the pool was very nice and warm as well as it was warm in the area of this indoor pool. Mercure has a small fitness room, we didn't actually use it, just passed by. There wasn't a variety of equipment but seemed more or less ok for a room of that size. Hotel also has a nice sauna which is opened from 3 to 10pm. Hotel is located near a Netto supermarket and a gas station, so if you need to grab something quick, that shouldn't be a problem. There are also a couple of nice restaurants within 5 mins walk from the hotel. Overall, Garmisch-Paterkirchen is a beautiful place and we were very pleased with the hotel! Recommended :)
