We stopped into this business on our way through town and attempted to enter the observation tower…read more At this point the older female employee said "no dogs allowed".We told her that he is a service dog and he was wearing a vest clearly marked "SERVICE DOG". We told her that you cannot deny access to a service dog. She said I don't make up the rules. The owner told me no dogs allowed. We informed her that it is a misdemeanor in the State of Michigan for herself not the business if she denies access. She asked if we wanted her to call the owner because she cannot allow the dog to go up. We said yes call him. We waited until the owner arrived. He asked us "what's the problem"? We explained the situation again. We explained that it is against the law to deny access to a Service dog. He went behind the counter, they talked quietly, he then informed us that they can deny anyone they want, and we could not take our service dog with us up in the tower. We tried to show him the laws for ADA protections for individuals with service dogs, they did not even want to look. We will never stop at this shop again nor would we recommend this to anyone that cares about Americans with disabilities.

I have a medical alert service dog that wears a vest. The owner of the store, from some distance away, asked me if she was a service dog. I said yes. She then asked me if she had her vest on. It is not required that a service dog wear a vest. But I said yes and showed her the vest. I told her that it is not required that a service dog wear a vest. I always make sure that I have the vest on my dog because it just makes life easier. She said "this is my store and my law and yes, she has to have a vest". To reiterate, my dog had a vest on. I turned around and walked out. I will not spend money in an establishment that treats people with disabilities the way she did.

Each room is wall to wall filled with different finds that everyone will enjoy. I especially enjoyed the room filled with so many things for dog lovers. Hundreds of different keychains with various sayings or names on them. I have 3 dogs at home -- Ellie, Lexie and Charlie. Loved seeing their names on a keychain. I had two of my dogs with me for this trip. My dog, Charlie, ended up sitting outside and howling for me to come back. The ladies in the shop got a good laugh about it! They have lots of toys here! And best of all: Some of the toys are out on display, so you can play with them. My children are on the cusp of being at that age where they don't enjoy playing with toys as much as they used to. But, they still gravitate toward toys that challenge them and make them think. There are lots of those types of toys here. There are also lots board games, plushies, outdoor toys and lots of fun things to play with. The prices are what you'd expect on an island.
