One cool thing is that they have a shelf full of canned beer loosies that you can pick and choose to make your own six-pack. A lot of the beers are local to Michigan or the Midwest, which is neat. I love that this store focuses on local things, even with their beverages. There aren't too many stores on Main Street where you can get a bottle of wine or beers to go, but this is one place. When I visited, beer and wine was 25% off! Yay for discount alcohol. Little Luxuries would be a great place to stop in and find a souvenir to take home. They have so many Mackinac Island-related things in the store, so you're bound to find a nice little tchotchke or memento to bring home to remember your time on the island.

Little Luxuries also has a large selection of cards, wine, magnets, stickers, handbags and clothing. The space is filled with so many items. The employees are also kind, welcoming and always willing to help you find the perfect gift. Little Luxuries also has an online store that is open 24/7. Shipping is relatively quick and if you sign up for emails, they send out coupons and deals periodically. Awesome!

Each room is wall to wall filled with different finds that everyone will enjoy. I especially enjoyed the room filled with so many things for dog lovers. Hundreds of different keychains with various sayings or names on them. I have 3 dogs at home -- Ellie, Lexie and Charlie. Loved seeing their names on a keychain. I had two of my dogs with me for this trip. My dog, Charlie, ended up sitting outside and howling for me to come back. The ladies in the shop got a good laugh about it! I was shopping with my mom, son, and daughter when the cashier stared at my children the entire time we were in the store, which already made us uncomfortable. When I went to check out, the cashier commented that my daughter was holding a sticker -- which is something completely normal for a child to do while browsing. I was fully aware she had it, and my mom was planning to purchase it for her so she could gift it to her auntie. The comment was unnecessary, rude, and embarrassing. My daughter heard it too, and it made her cry. I've never had an unpleasant experience here before, but the way we were treated today was enough to make sure we won't be returning.

Why do I keep seeing racks of socks in so many stores. Is this a thing, that wasn't before?…read more It's fun to look at, but I know well after having so many Blue Q socks that they don't last long and wear thin and get holes quickly. Fun, snarky or unique gifts.... small and large. It's on the main shopping street of Mackinac Island... but a tad hidden. You have to walk into a tunnel/walkway back towards the giant turtle.
