He claimed I "won the lottery" because there was supposedly no engine damage, despite the fact that a belt failure on a Honda V6 almost always results in the valves hitting the pistons. Being skeptical, I performed my own inspection. I had personally installed a new OEM Honda timing belt only four months ago and was confident in the work. When I pulled the top timing cover, I found the belt I installed was still perfectly intact. There was no evidence of a snapped belt, a seized water pump, or a failed pulley. I was charged over $1,100 for a timing belt replacement that clearly didn't happen. Based on the symptoms, I believe the actual issue was a simple fuel pump fuse--a repair that should have cost less than $200, including diagnostics. I have recommended Leasure automotive to over 100 people over the last 20 years because I believed he was honest and above board. I actually started working on my own cars in 1979 specifically because a mechanic ripped me off back then; it is a shame to see a shop I trusted for so long compromise their integrity like this. I am sharing this so others can be aware of my personal experience.

The mobile mechanic came out and gave me recommendations what to fix, after reviewing the estimate I noticed it was higher than dealer pricing so I called around a few shops local to me and spoke to Mike from German Auto Service. Mike from German Auto Service was very friendly on the phone and told me to bring my car in the same day, he would do an inspection, even though I told him I have an estimate already, he said he wanted to confirm himself. Sure enough, I showed up and Mike was able to tell me what the real problem was and what needed to be fixed, there was other things listed that were not the real problem so I told Mike to complete the work. Mike and his team was able to get the parts and labor done on my car and even did an oil change all for a very reasonable price, compared to if I brought it in the dealer I know I would of paid an arm and leg more. The work was done in a timely fashion on a business Friday, speaking with Mike more when picking up my car, I learned that he is very knowledgeable in electrical and mechanical work with German cars, he's a native German and been doing this for many years so right away I knew this was the right person who should be working on my Car. I just moved here from California and Mike will be my go to mechanic from now on living in Tampa.

At first it was difficult to get information over the phone and to schedule an appointment. Apparently there was one person who may have the expertise for my Subaru. Maybe there was another reason, who knows? When I was there I asked very direct questions based on my limited knowledge of my car's issues and a previous estimate from the dealership. I didn't get direct answers and basically was told they'd have to work on the car to get the full picture. I made the mistake of sharing a written estimate. They basically recommended a lot of work which would require me to spend about what was on the previous estimate from the dealer, but not the exact same work. I was primarily concerned with anything that would effect safety and just being able to depend on the car not breaking down. They recommended new tires because of rot. I hadn't seen any rot but I took their word for it. They also did some suspension work, less than what I was going to get done at the dealership. I think they wanted me to buy tires through them also but that wasn't happening. After their work, I got my car back and got new tires from Costco. I still spent a lot of money. The quality of the work was good but the service, exchange of information and overall experience wasn't good. I know a few things about cars, I just don't work on them anymore because of all of the new technology. I think I know enough to know that I probably spent a few hundred dollars more than I needed to. Good quality work but not the value that I anticipated based on the reviews.

I was in the waiting room while they ran their diagnostics figured out that there was a leak did the Freon and the price I paid was the price I quoted at the beginning I was in and out in an hour.
