I've been seeing him since the late 1990's ... and I still use his services even though I now live 600 miles from the DC Metro area. He mentored with another chiropractor (Mark Smith ... now in Midlothian, VA I believe, just outside of Richmond, VA) who I had seen since the early 1980's. Gary not only is a good "adjuster" ( that makes him sound like he works for an insurance company!) but he knows all of the touch for health and applied kinesiology approaches. Also, he offers a computerized traction service (the Accuspina) that is just fantastic for those with chronic lower back problems. His focus is on your overall health. Recently, I tore a rotator cuff and needed an opinion re surgery. The surgeon who fixed my other shoulder told me to come in for an appointment to get a referral for an MRI ... not an easy thing to do when you live 600 miles away. Gary wrote the referral for me and faxed it to the MRI center, and I was able to visit DC, get the MRI, and get both his chiropractic evaluation for the injury area AND a surgical opinion in 1 trip to the DC area. This is a great example of how Gary will work with you for holistic health solutions rather than contributing to a system that perpetuates unnecessary visits, fees, and drug-surgery only approach to medical care. I had been experiencing back pain and was on the break of not knowing what to do. After my visit with Dr. Ghorbani I realized I was great hands. I was not able to do simple things as put my shoes on or get out of the bed without being in excruciating pain. At times I could not walk without pain. Dr. Ghorbani suggested for me to get an Epidural Steroid Injection. I was little nervous and I was told by people that it would not work. Well Dr Ghorbani made me a believer, he performed the surgery on me and the next day I was able to get out of the bed with no pain, If you are looking for a doctor that is very knowledgeable and cares about his patients then come to APMI to be healed. My appointment ran on time, Dr Ghorbani was really knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable throughout the appointment! I would highly recommend APMI. It's a one stop shop for therapy, pain management and orthopedic services. He has an amazing staff, they all have great customer service and always make you feel welcome. Hands-down one of the best medical doctors I have seen in my 42 years of life! his demeanor and bed-side manner is calm, positive, thorough, attentive, flexible, and personal. I find that doctors usually are distracted or rushed when visiting their patients, but not with Dr. Ghorbani . I had the sense that this doctor REALLY cared about my whole being. However, the practice is completely overextended and you wait forever to get seen. The admin and nursing staffs do not communicate very well and you're often waiting. As a final bonus, they never alerted me to the fact that they stopped taking my insurance, even after I had made and appointment. They waited until I walked the 10 blocks from my office on a 95 degree day to let me know that little tidbit. In the end, I recommend the doctor, but not the practice.
