My wife scheduled Dan to come out to evaluate our situation. Not only did he show up on time, he carefully reviewed the situation and made clear recommendations. He provided us with references, as it resulted with us knowing one of his references as he was a neighbor. With that one reference, we were more than satisfied to hire Dan, and Nortex tile. All my wife and I can say, is that the crew and Dan, were nothing but professional, explaining the entire procedure showing up ahead of time and completing the work and leaving the 2 bathrooms spotless. I am a professional salesman, and am totally customer oriented. My wife and I highly recommend Dan, and Nortex Tile for all your tile and remodeling needs!

This unfortunately has been an underwhelming experience for us. The pros: really nice guy, friendly, good communication, and punctual. The cons: spilled a can of paint right in our door way upon entry. Our guy felt embarrassed and I felt bad so I stayed with him and kept assuring him that's it's alright and offered him multiple beverages (coffee, sparking water etc) to calm him down. That took about 45mins to clean up. Then there's the color matching part. It was a service included but man was I surprised there was no actual expertise in this area from Fixer. They did not match anything correctly, not even close. Even the white paint looks too bright, not to mention the grey paint. See the pictures. Our fixer also forgot tools, such as sand paper of the correct grit. I offered him mine but they are too fine, so took a really long time to do the work and it's not done properly because we needed something under 100 grit to sand everything flush. Lastly, all you see in the pictures are about 90% of the scope of work. It was 5-6 touch up spots, literally. The whole job took FOUR HOURS, from 9am-1pm. The worst part with time is now that I don't completely trust the fixer due to the spilled paint, I'd have to carve out half of my day overseeing the job. Its unacceptable, and honestly, for the quality of work and speed, it's not professional. They charge by the hour, and we are definitely looking for them to adjust the bill for us and make it right.

The agreed price seemed fair and I was excited to finally get the handles added to my cabinets. He arrived and quickly got set up to get the handles installed. It only took a few hours and he had gotten them on all of the cabinets. He had made a template to help ensure they were installed correctly. He did make one mistake during installation and drilled the wrong side of one of the cabinet doors. He filled the holes and I have since had it painted over. Despite using the template the handles are not even as you look at them. Several are off slightly and hard for most to see but there is a few of them that are off and they easily stand out. I wasn't impressed with the work and would not go back for any additional items.

The owner (Jamal) and another guy came to my home a couple months back and did a job in the powder…read morebath, which went fine. I had the owner give me an estimate for another bathroom remodel since he was already there. He said it would be approximately $600. So, now I finally have the new vanity in my possession and called them to schedule the job. The lady in the office (Heather) told me that they now refuse any jobs less than $1,000. They wouldn't honor the original quote by itself, even though the owner of the company provided it while standing in my home. Against my better judgment, I asked them to come out and provide an estimate for some other work I know I want to get done...just so I can get the bathroom done. They only provide quotes on Monday-Friday, so I had to schedule the appointment between 3-3:30 pm on Martin Luther King, Jr. day. 3:00 comes, 4:00 comes, 5:00 comes, NO JAMAL. Finally, at 5:08 pm, I called and spoke with Heather regarding the situation. She appeared very surprised that he hadn't shown up and advised me she would call me back. When she called back, she said she had gotten in touch with Jamal and his car had (conveniently) broken down. The owner of the company never bothered calling a customer who has a paying history with his company AND who they're now attempting to strong-arm into authorizing a job in excess of $1,000. So Heather asked me if I wanted to reschedule and I informed her that I work during the week. The only reason I was able to schedule them on Monday was because I was off for the MLK holiday and that scenario wouldn't reoccur until the end of May (Memorial Day). Heather said she understood and was surprised and appreciative that I wasn't yelling and/or cursing at her given the situation. She admitted that she probably wouldn't have the sane self-restraint. She said she would call Jamal to see if he would just do the bathroom for the ~$600 he quoted me given the fact that they caused me to waste half the day. As you can probably tell by this review, I have not heard from Heather nor anyone else at Plano Home Remodeling since that conversation. I very strongly encourage anyone to do business elsewhere. If a contractor does a no-call, no-show for an estimate, what do you think he's going to do on a job? I wouldn't recommend finding out!

Since we live in central Plano (i.e. a 1970's house), I've always dreamed of remodeling our kitchen but was worried about the process and how our family would survive without our main gathering/eating/cooking and entertaining area. I've heard lots of horror stories and was certain we would be adding to it after we finally made that step. However, enter Nick and David and their whole crew from GP Homes and Repairs and I can't say enough fabulous things about the entire process. After our dishwasher started leaking and caused quite a bit of damage to cabinets and flooring in our kitchen, we decided that now was the time to do it.
