First off, Tony Darling is a saint among mechanics. His customers know that. Some even bring him…read morecookies as an extra thank you to go along with their payment check. I brought my car to him and said there was front end shake. That all the tires had been recently balanced. Up on the lift he could see that the axle joints were shot. He ordered new ones and replaced the old ones. I was glad to get the old ones replaced -- but the shake was still there. I will never do self-analysis of a car's problem again. After Tony drove the car yet again, he felt the shake was more in the rear. The more I thought, the more I remembered that only the front wheels had been balanced. He balanced all four wheels and the shake is gone and his fees are very fair. --Bob Modersohn, Lansing, Iowa

Even though it is over 40 miles from where i'm currently staying I will take my car there for whatever is needed. Terrific people working there with excellent knowledge of auto mechanics. Three thumbs up here.

For a time I took my VW to Gordie's. After having some bad experiences there I started going here…read more I've since gotten rid of the VW, but have continued taking all my cars to Ace for oil changes and everything else. Their pricing is reasonable, the staff are helpful, professional, and nice. They also work on all makes/models. They fixed the VW many times, and now have done jobs on my Prius (oil changes, new coolant flow control valve) and my Ford (oil changes, new intake manifold) The only downside I can think of is that they can get very busy (probably because they're so good), So sometimes they have to schedule you a week out or more. They are always willing to explain more about any job/issue and will take you out and show you what they fixed if you ask. The charges are reasonable and you can always get an estimate before any work is done. I recommend Ace to anyone needing automotive work.

I have heard good things about his work from any local car place I've talked to. Leon is honest. His diagnoses of car issues are skilled and accurate. Before I bought a used car recently, he evaluated it free of charge, and caught an issue that another mechanic had missed. Leon goes above and beyond the call of duty. He has fit my car into his schedule quickly to do brief check-outs and diagnoses at no charge, though he is very busy. He is easy to communicate with because he is direct, respectful and patient.
