Currently, this is one of the worst experiences that I have had with a medical office from a…read moreprocess and patient care perspective. Here are the issues I've experienced: 1) As many have pointed out, the patient coordinator Mariah doesn't provide adequate service. She is slow to respond, lacks empathy, is unpleasant to speak to and very short in her interactions with patients. 2) Cultural competency is also an area of concern when it comes to basic procedures. I was made to feel like I was wrong for asking for accommodations that take my religious beliefs and financial situation into account. 3) I also received an unexpected bill for asking simple questions about the procedure and what it entails because initial information was not provided. 4) Lastly, results are handled poorly - they basically release them via the portal but don't provide any explanation about test results for days after. I'm still not sure if it's because I called the office and pressed to have the doctor explain them or if they are just that delayed that it took them a week to follow up with me. These were pretty significant results that required additional levels of testing. It's concerning to be able to see your findings but not have a doctor or professional explain them to you for nearly a week.

After 25+ years, I am switching gastroenterologists. This is a fine place to get a routine…read morecolonoscopy, but I would advise patients like me with serious conditions to shop around for a smaller practice. I agree with others that Dr. Cheng is a competent and compassionate doctor. But over the years the practice has ballooned in size to the point where the staff is totally overwhelmed and careless mistakes affecting patient care are being made. Dr. Cheng's previous patient care coordinator, Nicole, was amazing, but the new coordinator, Mariah, is clearly out of her depth. My specialty pharmacy told me they made 6 attempts to get a new authorization and never got a callback. I later found out that when Mariah submitted the authorization paperwork the first time, she encountered a problem, noted it in my medical chart (cya) but never bothered to inform me so I could follow up. On her second attempt, she made a careless mistake (she answered it was "unknown" if my medication was helping me) that caused my authorization to be denied. When a customer service rep from the insurance company informed her of the error, she denied that she was responsible then complained that she was being asked to submit my authorization for a third time. Sorry to inconvenience you, but it's your job!

I have good things to say about east bay endoscopy. I was scared for my procedure. I told the nurse…read moreand she was extremely kind and empathetic. She stayed with me the whole time I was waiting in the pre-op area, was gentle with the needle and explained everything. She took her time to explain things to me. The parking situation is both good and bad. The garage is gated and free if you're an EBE customer, but to get out and into the center you have to follow a dark and gross back hallway. Signage was clear though. The waiting room is small but clean and well organized. The surgical area itself isn't very separate from the prep areas, but there is still privacy.

Michelle at reception was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. Then my nurses Amy and Corinne were really sweet and took care of me once I was admitted. There was friendly banter among the team and music playing in the background. Seemed like a place where they all enjoyed working. Dr Nguyen and Dr Heath (anesthesiologist) were both pros, and the next thing I knew I was waking up in the recovery room. Couldn't have been a better experience. Highly recommended.

10 Stars I was glad…read moresomeone place a review of there experience because it was a first colon/endoscopy for me and I needed to some insight. YouTube helped. Karin D's review in 2020 was what I based my selection of Liana Vesga, MD on and Doctor Vesga did not disappoint but rather went far beyond what was written in the prior reviews. Doctor Vesga was amazing. She was beaming positivity, assurance, compassion, concerned you are feeling at ease and assured all will be well. I was scheduled to see a male doctor, but I wanted a female doctor. Doctor Vesga gave me that maternal covering I was looking for. (No one takes care of you like a Mother) The Oakland Building is a Beautiful Location! ** So here is my experience ** * The Lemon Lime Drink wasn't bad. There must have been some changes with the pre-drink because most comments said it was horrible. I found that playing a game of " How Fast Can You Drink It" got the drink down. I chased it with Sparkling Mineral Water. The bubbly helped. ** Stay close to the bathroom and tell your family members to use the bathroom and get out quickly please. It really processes quickly through your system in a hour. No Joke!! * I have fasted before and took on that mind set when it came to no eating. I did drink chicken broth. I did chew on a piece of steak and savored the flavor and spit out the meat. It worked for me.. Jedi Mind Trick ** After getting into my gown, I began to breath deeply to relax myself. (one lady next to me was so nervous, she gave up her breakfast) * There was a lot of activity at this location. No waiting. The nurse was very nice and with ease put in the IV port. ** The needle is small and fine, a very light poke is all I felt. I was then rolled into the room for the procedure. The nurse who monitored my vital was rubbing my arm to calm me because of my pressure number (176). I told her it was the moment for the elevated number. It worked.. my last look at it was 146. All the staff was very pleasant. Very focused on what is to be done. Not a lot of talking. That was impressive to me. * Doctor Vesga walked in the room saying ... "There she is" " We are doing a Colonoscope and a Endoscopy" "I am going to have you bite on this bite guard put this around you ears" ..... and the next thing I was hearing my name and I was awake and feeling great. Not dizzy, Not sick, Not sleepy. Very much alert and speaking clearly. ** I asked if I could go to the bathroom and while walking I side stepped a little bit but the nurse had me be the arm. * I got dressed and wanted to use the bathroom once more for the ride home. I waited in the lobby for my daughter to pick me up and that was it. The End Very please to have had a great experience to share for this year of May 2022 The next morning, I had a little sore throat. So I gurgled with baking soda and ate soup for a few days. I did have some mild stomach irritation. I felt nothing when sitting down and resumed back to business as usual by Tuesday. My procedure was during the Fourth of July Holiday. Dr. L. Vesga is a gem!

I went to Dr. Vesga for a second opinion after another GI Specialist said "not much we can do…read more.. you're own maximum therapies" (ie. Tylenol & Omeprozol), yet in severe pain still. Dr. Vesga spent over an hour reviewing my symptoms, my charts/labs, and exploring options. She gave me multiple options but advised gathering more test results to be cautious. She called me directly to report normal lab results at 6pm a few weeks later. She created a plan of action in case pain comes back. She was very attentive and recalled even minor details from our first discussion. I felt heard, respected, and taken care of. Fantastic doctor.

What I remember most about him is he always asking for my tv remote :0) to turn down the volume b/c I was using tv as a distraction of being very scared in the ICU. Thank you for the great care and kindness you gave me Dr. Frederick I have never forgotten about that even though it was last year.

Dr Frederick and his staff are some of the finest medical professionals I've met, let alone been a patient of. I've been seeing him for over a year now for my autoimmune liver disease and he has been the most reassuring, encouraging, helpful Physician I've seen during this process. His staff are professional and meticulous. If you're a bit scatterbrained like myself, they'll send you helpful reminders and phone calls regarding your upcoming appointment. If your refills run low, it's a quick phone call and an almost instant refill. Most importantly, Dr Frederick takes to heart your unique case. He's unafraid of reaching out to colleagues for input and will utilize all possible avenues to achieve an understanding of what's ailing you and what's most likely to help. I am a very appreciative patient of Dr Frederick's. I know his job must be extremely taxing and stressful, but he makes the effort to appear calm and reassuring in all of his encounters. It's the part of being a physician that can't be taught in a classroom. Even when news of my condition isn't the most positive, he does his best to infuse hope into his explanations. I only wish I could do more to express my gratitude.
