I'm going to take it up a notch and give Dara's the full monty, 5 farghing stars. That's right previous reviewers, and those of you who have never heard of Dara's - this little Brigham Circle liquor store really does it right. I popped in here once about 5 months ago and thought it was a little cutesy so I didnt bother to check out the beer selection or the prices. But last night was a different story. I knew that the other stores in the area might have what I wanted but Hoping for something new, a new beer to try, I decided on Dara's. Holy newness, local beer I've never seen before in a Brigham Circle store - they had some beers from Greenfield, Mass (Peopels Pint) and something called Paper City and a full selection of the good old favorites from the Stone brewers. Decent prices on 22's and on sixers and twacks. Ton's of wine, decent prices from what I saw - and what looks to be a OK booze wall - scotch will be my next mission. read more

Dara's IS the package store of mission hill. This place is great and despite the stores small size, they boast a great beer selection. They have the best microbrews around including a lot of 22s and growlers. Dara's carry's a lot of craft beers, and doesn't waste space with those mass produced beers that breweries try to sell off as microbrews. However, the best part of Dara's is by far THE DUDES THAT WORK THERE. everyone there is wicked friendly and will definitely remember you and appreciate your business. I love going to Dara's, grabbing what i need and shooting the shit with the guys that work there. Plus they have a TV so you can head down there in the middle of a game and get a score update so by the time you get back home you still know whats going on. read more

Dara's is my absolute favorite place to buy good beer, cheap wine, or 30s. Sure, the selection isn't as big as ODB -- but at least the prices are marked on their bombers (unlike ODB). The guys who work at Dara's are the best! They know who you are and acknowledge your active patronage. In addition, there is taste testing from time to time which is money. The selection is pretty good - typical Sams, Magic Hat, Harpoon, Brooklyn, Dog Fish Head, Left Hand, Lagunitas, BBC, and other domestic brews. Their bombers are great as well. read more

Great selection of pretty much everything. Not too expensive. The guys that work there are awesome. They're ALWAYS really friendly, and genuinely nice. I remember at one point one of them noticed that I dyed my hair (it was like a shade of difference, no one else even noticed, not even my roommates). Maybe that meant that I went there a little too much, but I thought that was funny/endearing. Anyway it's a great place. My favorite liquor store here by far. read more

As others have mentioned, it's a small store and they don't have the biggest selection, but wow, they pack it in there without it being too crowded. The wooden decor is classy, the guys that work at the counter are ALWAYS friendly, and the prices are great, especially for the area. In a world doing as much as it can to take advantage of college kids (and their wallets), this is a breath of fresh air. Dara's has a great selection beer, some local brews, seasonal stuff. They have your standard vodkas, liquors, mixers, wines- but I've found unexpected gems in here. I really enjoy some things most college kids don't touch- the first being absinthe, which I found for a fair price. The second is sake, and there's also a decent selection of that in Dara's near the wines. I once found this amazing lychee sake with the perfect amount of sweetness. Overall, considering the location (convenient), decor (almost too classy for the neighborhood), selection (great for it's size and location), and service (fantastic), 5/5. There is a reason why they haven't received less than 4 stars... it's because they truly are very nice people, each and every one of them. Sometimes i don't buy anything and i'd still come in to say hi and often they see me on the street and greet me regardless if i come in the store or not. They're super friendly and are always cheerful. They help you make selections based on what you like or don't like. Never have had a bad experience here. :) read more

So yes, it's filled with crack heads and scum bag alcoholics trying to get their fix, but the guys that work here are awesome. After coming here for 3 or 4 times they remember me and ask how I'm doing. We pick up the conversation where it left off. It doesn't have as good of a selection of beer as ODB, but it's got a lot of interesting liquors and wines. I love ODB, but Dara's might just be my new favorite! read more

Considering there are 3 liquor stores right in Brigham Circle, this one stands above the rest. A friendly staff, solid craft beer selection, and low price on crappy light beers makes Dara's an all around great place. The liquor and wine I've bought is also pretty well priced. The Thai Redbull is also a nice plus. read more

Formerly Michel's Wine & Spirits, the ownership changed a few years back. The store pretty much offers the same things that Michel's did, give or take a few items here. There are plenty of wines to choose from (some very good ones I might add), spirits, and a varied beer selection. There are a lot of your typical beers and than some hard-to-find or limited beers show up from time to time. Prices are average (with prices on spirits being a bit high)... and if you are looking for quantity over quality a beer ball of Bud Light is $26.99 (includes tax & deposit - 55 beer serving). read more

The only liquor store in Mission Hill to carry Wild Turkey 101. Very important. They also have totally decent selection of beer and wine, including more craft bombers than ODB (they carry Smuttynose Big Beer Series, AleSmith, etc). Great, clean liquor store. read more

Competitive Pricing sure but for me it's the guys who work there. What a friendly bunch that remembers my name, my dog's name, my favourite spirit, my brand of cigarettes, etc. There have been times when I get to the counter and everything I want to buy is waiting for me. One time I forgot my wallet at home and they let me pay them the next day. This is what a neighborhood store is all about. ODB didn't even let me 10 steps in the door before they kicked me out cause of my 17lbs, 13 yr old dog. Some punk kids who didn't even say hello first. Will NEVER go there again. I am a fan of the good deals they have, especially on beer. The other night I got a 12 pack of one of those variety pack Magic Hats for only $9.99 and a 6 pack of Sierra Nevada for only $4.99. We normally go to ODB because it's bigger and they have more quality beers to choose from but with those prices, we might have to start going to Dara's more. The staff members are nice and very helpful when you have questions. They will even point you to the special sales to help you save money. Great store! read more

Can't say much more than Dara's is the best liquor store in Mission Hill. It's on the small side but what they lack in size, they make up for in selection, prices and service. I've been coming here for years and while staff has come and gone, they consistently hire amazing, friendly and personable people who remember you by name. Hands-down better and cheaper than ODB down the street and a staple of the Brigham Circle neighborhood. I don't see this place going away anytime soon. read more

Dara's is hands down my favorite liquor store in Mission Hill. The selection isn't the best as the place is pretty small, but it's the people that work here that make the place special. I've never met a more friendly staff. You'll feel like a regular after your second or third trip. read more

I moved to Mission Hill about 5 years ago. Dara's is my neighborhood "packy" and I don't go to the neighboring store after the heaping helping of attitude I got the one and only time I went in there. Whereas even if I am just walking by Dara's and one of the employees is outside getting a breath of air, they will stop me to say hello and pass the time of day for a minute. The guys at Dara's are friendly, helpful and are always trying out new microbrews and other new products. Plus, they welcome my 110 lb. mastiff, who is in love with the guys behind the counter even if they don't give him treats. All in all it's great place to do business with and when I finally get priced out of the neighborhood by my landlord, Dara's will be one of the local businesses I will really miss. read more

This is my favorite place to buy alcohol- the guys who work here are really friendly and even though the store is small, a lot of times, someone even greets me at the door. The prices are also the BEST that I've found since I've been living in Boston. I was even able to get real absinthe at Daras. read more

A very friendly family owned shop that has become my new favorite packy - in a neighborhood with a few of them. They now carry Carlsberg too - after I asked the owners if they would order it for me.
