I made an appointment through text for my mini poodle and sent pictures asking if she had done a teddy bear haircut before and has had experience.I exaggerated that I want a round face and round ears and she replied that she has and it depends on the puppy's face etc and we booked an appointment for friday on tuesday and I was quoted $65-70. The groomer is about 20 minutes from me so I decided to do a drop off. About 2 hours before the appointment the time was changed. When I arrived at 12:30 she was still working on another dog and stopped to discuss the haircut with me. We did notice matting and I told her to save as much as she can but if he needs to be shaved it's okay and i understand but I don't want him shaved to the point where his skin shows . I understood that matts cannot be saved and it would take too much time for her to brush out. I was okay with his body being shaved but my main point was I just wanted a round teddy- bear face and he was grown out to the point that was totally possible. She checked and told me he had no matts on his face and that it was possible. I showed her another picture of a puppy with a shaven body and round face and she said she got it and she will check with me before starting. I waited in my car and she finally started working on him around 1:30 when the other dog was picked up. After 30-40 minutes I went to check on him and his body had been shaved but had not started on his face. After another 30 minutes I went back and she had finished his face and I asked if the ears could be more rounded out and the tail to be cut into a circular fluff instead of a long straight tail. I continued waiting and she texted me she was done I picked him up and he was not at all what I expected. She told me I owe her $75 instead of the original $65 because she spent a longer time on him. If I had known there was an extra charge beforehand I would have gone to a different groomer who had quoted me a different price. I was too nervous to mention how the haircut was nothing like what we had discussed so I payed and went home.When I got home I realized the shaving was very inconsistent and I thought I just wasn't used to how he looked so I waited 2 days and asked around and everyone agreed the haircut was very botched. I decided to text her on monday and let her know very respectfully that I know the body had to be shaved due to matting and that was okay with me but the face was nothing like how I wanted and what we discussed. After going back and forth she replied that she gave me a maltipoo cut ( he is a mini poodle that had a very round face before) and she said she thought he looked cute and said she is unsure on how to proceed. I told her i'm not sure either since it isn't like we can add his hair back to his face and and I asked for a refund she said she cannot offer a refund and she thinks he's cute and blocked my number completely. ( she also had a before and picture of my dog on social media before and captioned saying how cute he is and after blocking me she deleted her post and posted another picture captioning it bashing me for the matt's on him and saying it is inhumane) I think that it's very unprofessional to not offer any help or money back. She totally disregarded what I had asked for and he looks like nothing we had discussed. On top of changing my appointment time , not doing the haircut I had asked tor , charging me extra without letting me know beforehand, she did not offer any help and went straight to blocking me and bashing me on her social media when all I wanted was just wanted help on what to do. I never leave yelp reviews especially on small businesses but after being blocked and bashed online which I had never expected , i'm not sure on what to do. read more

Janice did a great job on my Australian Shepherd today. She had him in and out within the hour on a full bath and haircut. She did exactly as I requested. Her prices are fair and cares for the pet and owner's experience at her shop. I love how I had him back in no time.. no more waiting 2+ hrs while your dog just sits in a crate like at other shops.
