I just saw a reply from the owner to my review. It's nice to know that she is at least honest enough to not deny the fact that she was extremely rude and nasty towards me. I never asked her to compromise her relationship with her suppliers and I DID NOT KNOW that she'd already purchased the hair, instead of flipping out on me the way she did, she could have just told me "I've already purchased the hair, so unless you're willing to buy additional hair, this is the texture we will be using and I can assure you the hair will be gorgeous" and none of this would have happened because I totally trusted her wisdom and judgment in terms of hair care. I purchased the groupon promotion for the location at 373 Broadway. The package included a wash, condition, hair trim, blow dry and style. Its a small studio , which I prefer over large loud spaces. She immediately greeted me very pleasantly and looked at my hair texture and needs before proceeding. I have soft but unpermed hair ( many stylist don't know how to detangle and press natural hair without heat damage). Many stylist are into styling, but not taking care of hair. She steamed my hair for over 30 minutes to hydrate it, showed me products that work well with my hair and how to detangle it. I was very pleased with the outcome and her communication. She didn't just cut how much off she wanted to she communicated and asked permission, which is VERY important! Danielle did a truly fantastic job on my hair. I have thick, very kinky natural hair, which is not so easy to manage, and my scalp is very sensitive. I wanted to keep it natural (at that time) although I'm now considering a texturizer. Danielle did a Keratin treatment. I never thought my kinky hair could ever be that smooth and soft with a flat-iron job. It was worth the time and the cost to get it done. My hair stayed straighter, longer. It was below my shoulder blades when she was done. So I added a solid trim, about 4 inches. I need that Keratin treatment again and of course Dany is only one to do. Check her out. I've been to Danielle one time a few weeks ago and I had a great experience. I went there with the intent to chop off all my relaxed ends, which anyone else might have done to get the extra money to do so, but she was honest with me. She told me it wouldn't look right for my face to go that short as I am half natural and half relaxed ends ( my end goal to be all natural). She said would like to grow my hair and we will rid relaxed ends in stages, trimming off more and more every few weeks I see her and as I gather new growth. So instead paying a full cut, she only charged me few bucks small trim - which worked best for me financially. The silk press finish she did was so out of this world, you would think I had a relaxer but much better. Had much body and bounce so silky. I loved it. I am seeing Danielle for a two strand twist this evening and cant wait to see how it comes out. I would say give her try....she really knows what she is doing and offers good advice on haircare. read more
