We had the absolute best experience working with Thomas for our wedding first dance! From the very…read morefirst lesson, he made us feel completely comfortable, even though we both started with zero dance experience. His patience, encouragement, and sense of humor made every session something we genuinely looked forward to. He also took the time to understand our vision and skill level, and choreographed a routine that felt natural and "us." What could have been stressful turned into one of the most fun and memorable parts of our wedding planning. If you're looking for someone who is talented, kind, and genuinely invested in making your moment special, we cannot recommend Thomas highly enough!

My partner and I pretty much had no dance experience, formal or informal dancing. We decided to…read morereach out to Bella Ballroom as we wanted to have an acceptable first dance at our wedding 3 weeks later. We tried practicing by ourselves first, but found that their expertise saved us hours of researching time and their instructions were crucial in quickly refining the dance. We were paired with Mallory who was incredibly knowledgeable and such a pleasure to be around just as the other team members were in making our experience comfortable as amateurs. We had a couple moves to focus on, with the main difficult part being the waltz section. We were taught in an understandable manner through 5 sessions within 2 weeks. The basics of the moves were covered, and every part of our choreography was refined with insightful tips and instruction. We were able to voice any concerns and ideas, and it was a professionally taken into account for our needs. In the end, we locked it down enough to fully perform the dance well enough. The rest would just be keeping it up with practice on our own until the big day. The pricing is reasonable for an important event if you want it to look good. As it was for a wedding, we found the results to be well worth it. The team at Bella Ballroom are great instructors for anyone interested in improving at dancing.

This is my daughter's second season at West Coast. We are so incredibly glad we made the switch…read more The environment is so welcoming. Which is difficult to find in competitive dance. The families welcomed us in with open arms, the dancers support each other and the teachers support each other. I believe this starts from the top down with the ownership and management. Paula is extremely hands on with the teachers, students and families. And it shows. She doesn't care just about their dancing but cares about their character as an individual. The quality of the teaching staff is exceptional; with the primary focus on technique. But they continue to grow and expand their teaching and choreography styles. They treat the kids as the individuals they are and unify them as a team as well. In the current COVID-19 environment everything has been moved online. The entire staff has been energetic and motivating. They have provided a sense of stability in an unstable environment for our kids. Every week the teachers take time with each kid just to check in and see how they are doing. If you want a positive, creative and safe environment for your child to experience dance than I would recommend West Coast.

The dancers support and encourage each other and the parents are kind and helpful. These are competitive dancers who strive for excellence but never at the cost of character or class. The tone is set from the leadership of Miss Paula who runs the studio like a in impressive CEO that can also wear the hat of mentor, artist, and friend. I am constantly blown away by the talent and reach of the staff who is well rounded on style, technique, and has a proven track record of developing dancers to the highest levels. They take an interest in the dancers personally and have created a community our whole family enjoys being a part of. They way that the business pivoted during the Covid-19 shutdown is remarkable! They quickly acclimated to virtual while keeping the positive attitude and commitment to excellence we've come to expect from them. When we first started at WC I would not have imagined that dance would become such a high value for us, but because of our West Coast experience it is something we eagerly remain connected to and proud to be a part of! I could go on and on about the costumes, the wins, the opportunities, the conditioning that keeps the dancers safe, the communication, etc...Even my sons have taken classes and loved it! I would give them 100 stars if I could!

I do not recommend this academy. In February we signed up for our daughter. By then we were a bit…read morelate for the sign up for summer recital so we couldn't. So whenever they practice for the recital my daughter was made to feel very left out. The instructor told my daughter that she can do stretches or do whatever she wanted or join the dance. Fact that the instructor pointed that out made my daughter felt like she didn't belong. Paying for the recital or not, every tuition paying dancer should be part of the routine. They have my credit card in their system and charge automatically every month which in the beginning we appreciated because we didn't have to remember to pay or wait for a bill and all that hassle. However, this academy not once sent out updates or announcements of any kind. I checked my spam/junk mail as well as regular mail. They say they do send email but we never got it. Suddenly tuition increased by $30 this month. Also we just found out there is an annual registration fee although there was no additional need for any type of "re-registration." They just simply charge it every July. The reason it's not a 1 star is because after the issue arises they refunded this month tuition smoothly as we decided to pull my daughter from this academy. And while there my daughter didn't mention other issues aside from feeling excluded from the Moana dance. We got quoted with another academy close by for our daughter where tuition is a lot more reasonable and she will be starting there soon.
