I had arranged for an 11AM pick-up for our party of 13 people to take a wine tour in Southwest Michigan. At 11:15AM, the driver had not arrived yet and I began calling the company and "Scott, the Manager" - only to receive voice recordings from each. At approximately 11:30AM, I received a "txt message" reading - "Sorry, our shuttle bus broke down on the highway. It is not good. The turbo blew. All we can do is refund your deposit. Sorry." No one from the company had the courtesy to call me and personally apologize or offer assistance to find another option for our wine tour transportation, which was an activity we had planned our weekend around --- we had traveled to SW Michigan from out of town to celebrate our friend's wedding engagement. This company may be cheaper than a few other options out there, but please note - if an unforeseen "break-down" occurs, this company will leave you hanging... not what I would want anyone to experience for a wedding/special event of any kind. Use at your own risk. (Also, I have not received my deposit back yet... another frustrating aspect of this situation.)

It was an old van that had a leaking roof so water was dripping on the floor the entire ride. The tv monitor on the van did not work. We were told we would go to three restaurants downtown for wine tasting and small plates. We only went to two restaurants. One restaurant was downtown and only served a one charcuterie board with the wine that our entire party had to share. The other restaurant was a pizzeria in a strip mall. The driver was not accommodating and did not clean the bus after the previous group before us. I spent more than a thousand dollars for a dissatisfying experience and did not get my money's worth. Our tour guide was a retired high school history teacher and football coach with all sorts of interesting stories about the region. We passed Mount Baldy, the "living" sand dune that moves, at Indiana Dunes National Park and made it all the way down to a good view of the Century of Progress homes before making our way back. We also got to hear all about the ship, the Emita II, which is a historic ship from the 1950s, and about how it reached its current home. It was also very cute that Captain Jan had the kids come up and take turns at the wheel on the way back. There is a snack bar on the lower level of the boat, and there are restrooms on board. Free parking is available a little walk away - walk towards the Lighthouse Museum, as the dock is behind there. Definitely a great adventure!

I came across the GR Beer Trolley, and I immediately reserved two seats for Sunday afternoon. It started at 2:00 p.m., leaving from Founders. The entire tour covers eight breweries, and the family who owns this new business has a winning approach to customer service. It's a delightful ride through the streets of Grand Rapids, and between breweries there's a cooler full of bottled water to keep riders hydrated. You get about an hour at each brewery, which is just enough time to sample some great beer before moving on to the next brewery. We left the tour a bit early in order to make dinner reservations, but I would recommend this to anyone who likes good beer without the hassle of driving or relying on Uber. Great experience, warm and friendly service at a super reasonable price!
