I contacted Dan Appliance over a few weeks ago concerning an electrical strike which burnt up a dryer, new down draft stove and tripped various brakers. They stopped to access the damage and which issues if any that could be saved. Once the parts were obtained, the appointment to complete the work was scheduled. Liars, cheats and thieves... My husband and I have been a loyal customer of Dan's TV in Leechburg Pennsylvania for over a decade. We've believed in shopping local and supporting local. We purchased a dishwasher, microwave, washer and a refrigerator totaling nearly $10,000. Over $4000 was a refrigerator from Dan's TV the we bought one year and nine months ago. The refrigerator freezer wasn't worked properly from the time we got it. Since the time of purchase repairmen have came numerous times unable to resolve the issues. The repairmen have said there wasn't a fix for it due to the serial number. My husband went to the shop to see if something could be worked out and the owner's son threw him out and screaming for him never step foot in the store again. My husband has since filed a lawsuit against Dan's for the cost of this faulty product. The manager, the owners son, has during that process disclosed documents from the appliance manufacturer that has directed them to take the refrigerator back because of a manufacturer deficiency. Instead, Dan's TV have elected to file delays in court for 90 days preventing us from having a properly functioning refrigerator for all of this time. We've been a loyal high dollar customer for many years. Clearly, customer service means nothing to Dans TV. Take your money somewhere else. read more

Poor Communication and Follow-Up I'm disappointed with my experience with Dan's Appliance in Leechburg. They called me one time, but when the call came through, my caller ID showed it as SPAM instead of identifying the business as Dan's Appliance. Because of that, I didn't immediately know who was calling. They left a voicemail, but after that I never received another call back or any follow-up. If a business is trying to reach a customer, especially about an appliance service or appointment, I think it's reasonable to expect the business to identify itself properly and make an effort to follow up. A business phone number showing up as "SPAM" and then only making one attempt to contact a customer makes it very difficult to do business. I hope Dan's Appliance will look into how their calls are being identified and improve their follow-up with customers. Communication is an important part of good customer service. I dont recommend save the headache go to lowes!! read more

I had a very disappointing experience with this company. I was charged nearly $200 just to be told that my refrigerator could not be fixed. When I first called, I spoke with an employee named Skye who said she would check my proof of purchase. She never actually checked it, nor did she explain that there were certain refrigerator issues they are unable to repair. If my warranty or proof of purchase had been reviewed, I could have been advised to contact the refrigerator manufacturer directly and avoided this unnecessary service call. Instead, a technician was sent to my home, stayed for about 15 minutes, and told me they could not fix the issue. I was still charged the full fee. I then tried multiple times to speak with the owner and was refused. When I finally went into the store, the owner was extremely rude, became angry, would not listen to my concerns, stated that "$200 is the price to step foot into a customer's house," and then walked away from me at the counter. There was no transparency, no accountability, and very poor customer service throughout this entire experience. I will not return to this business and would not recommend it to anyone looking for honest or professional appliance repair. read more

We bought a dishwasher from them (January 2023), and when they delivered it 3 days later, the old washer apparently had one "6p" nail installed that secured it to the floor in the kitchen (for some unknown reason), and they were unable to even try to remove it, themselves..... They suggested my wife go out and purchase a specialized (and expensive) tool to remove the nail and left, saying they'd reschedule the install after it was removed. I actually got a pry bar and a hammer and removed the nail myself in less than 5 minutes, freeing the old unit for removal. Called to inquire as to the reschedule date and they offered two options, 3 days and 6 days out. I explained that this was a previous install they had already committed to, and that we couldn't have 2 dishwashers sitting around for that long and the dates they offered were unacceptable and they needed to bump someone else and complete the install they had already committed to . The agent said they'd have to owner call me, and of course, they didn't call at the scheduled time, either. Absolutely LOUSY customer service and I've never seen an appliance store operate in this manner. We will never buy even a screw (or nail??) from this company again, and we're going to suck it up and install the dishwasher ourselves, because clearly, they're incapable of being prepared to do the job they claim to do for a living. read more

If I could give a zero stars I would. Purchased a washer and dryer in July 2020. Washer broke. They can't repair as it's under warranty. I waited two weeks for GE to show up and they did not have a belt, and they don't know when they will get one! I asked Dan's for a replacement washer, and they could have mine back to fix and resell. They refused. She said she couldn't sell my washer as new then and she would lose money! Never mind what I'm losing running to the laundry mat. read more

I bought a washer from them that only worked for 2 loads of laundry i called to let them know didnt get an answer left a message hours later someone called me back put me on hold then disconnected me when i called them back didnt get an asnwer left another message nobody called back i called them once agin before they closed for the day and was told someone would call me back the next morning to set up a time for someone to come out and fix it nobody called i called them and once again left a message that went unanswered i left them a message on facebook that didnt get answered until the next day saying they were refunding me my money because i was too far but keep in mind they delivered the washer now i have to find another one move this one and get the new one in now again read more

I have purchased all my appliances at Dan's Appliance for the last 25 years. Last purchase was a fridge in May. I have always been very happy with there service and installation. The new service man was here and worked on my washer. He was knowledgeable and polite. I had Russ here a few occasions and also was knowledgeable and polite. I highly recommend Dan's Appliance. I posted this because I saw the negative reviews. Dan's Appliance does not service either Johnstown or Irwin. Something seems suspicious. read more

Very disappointed with recent purchase of a dishwasher. At time of purchase was told that the $150.00 delivery and installation fee would cover service not provided by the "big box stores." The installation was fine, on time with efficient workers. However, it turns out the dryer is not drying the dishes. Called Dan's , spoke to a man who scheduled a 2:30 appt. on Friday. So far, so good. (I was told to make sure there was rinse aid-which I did with no improvement and I called to tell them and to confirm the appointment). I left work early (never an easy thing to do). By 4:30, no one had come so I called the store to inquire about the plan. Was told "he's been behind all day." No apology. No call to tell me he was running behind so I didn't give up work time. No effort or indication of what he would do, so I had to ask if he was coming that at all. Response: "no and he didn't know what he was going to do anyway." I asked what could be done. Some hemming and hawing. Finally she said they would email tech support at the manufacturer and let me know Monday. No call Monday. No call Tuesday. I had to call today. Was told to "run my water until it is hot" before running the dishwasher, that "plastic dishes don't dry in any dishwasher," that there are always water drops on plastic," and "that the plastic interior" of the dishwasher was the reason the dishes didn't dry. I asked why I wasn't advised of this. She basically replied that I was buying for price. An interesting remark since a man waited on me and not a woman (a woman did the paperwork at the end). In retrospect, I realize that the man who helped me really didn't know his products. To conclude, there is no service for the $150.00. Dan's won't let me return or exchange the machine without me losing more money. I asked why and was told because it would now be "used" and she's never sold a "used machine." Nice to know they have standards (sarcasm intended). She directed me to the manufacturer. Disappointed, frustrated and feeling defrauded. Don't see any reason to support the local small business vendor anymore. I would discourage anyone from buying from Dan's. read more

I have purchased all my appliances here. On my second washer in 5 years. The service used to be great but since Russ has left it is terrible! This washer is less than 2 years old. On the initial call they couldn't find my sales receipt and even suggested that I may have bought at another appliance store. The first visit the service tech told me it was an electrical part and had to order. I had to call the next week to find out what the status of the part was. They didn't know who I was and remarkably enough while I was on the phone the ups man brought my part and I was scheduled for an appointment. When the service guy came he brought a motor and placed that in the washer with the result of the washer still doing the same thing. The service guy was upset and said " well I thought it was the pump and that didn't work so I will have to call someone but you got a new pump!" Put his stuff in the van and left. Didn't tell me what to expect next just left. Two days later I received a call and they said they would be here 3 days later at a certain time to put parts in my washer. The day and time came and went and I called to find out where they were and was informed that I wasn't even on the schedule and supposedly no one called me but they can come tomorrow. Now they are going to just look at it again. I'm 4 weeks without my washer and the service guy doesn't seem confident and the people at the store have a different excuse every time I call. They no longer have the "great" service man Russ and now the service sucks! I have purchased 7 different appliances there because I was confident in their product service but that has all gone done the tubes. I'm very disappointed and frustrated! When I said I have been without my washer for 4 weeks they answered "this appliance isn't as reliable as it used to be." I'm guessing this can go on for many more weeks. I plan on calling the bbb and the appliance manufacturer. Think twice before your purchase! read more
